- Best Happy Hours in the East End: 8 Deals From Navigation to EaDo
The best happy hours in Houston's East End are at The Original Ninfa's on Navigation, where drinks are discounted Monday to Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. and the Original Ninfarita is $7; Eight Row Flint East End on Harrisburg Boulevard, which runs happy hour all day on Mondays and from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday to Friday; and Little Woodrow's EaDo, with $3 select drafts and $3 wells until 7 p.m. on weekdays. Every deal below comes from the venue's own website or menu.
Here's the line to remember: the East End is where Houston got fajitas, and at 3 p.m. on a weekday you can toast that with a $7 margarita a few feet from where it happened.
Happy hours change often. Treat every time and price below as typical, and check the official site the day you go.
What counts as the East End in this guide?
We use the inner-loop East End: everything east of downtown bounded by US 59/I-69 on the west, Buffalo Bayou on the north, Loop 610 East on the east and the Gulf Freeway (I-45) on the south. That covers EaDo (East Downtown) around the stadiums, Second Ward along Navigation Boulevard and Harrisburg Boulevard, Eastwood and Magnolia Park. It's the same boundary as our best tacos in the East End guide.
Downtown, west of US 59, has its own list: best happy hours in Downtown Houston. For the whole city, see best happy hours in Houston.
How we chose
We kept only bars and restaurants whose own website or official menu showed an East End address, current hours and a posted happy hour, all checked in November 2026. Places we could only confirm through review sites, or East End favorites that don't publish a happy hour, were left out. The result is eight picks: a Tex-Mex landmark, a whiskey-and-cocktail bar, a pizza bar, a Yucatán-style cafe, a backyard bar, a soccer beer park, a burger bar and an outdoor yard with a Ferris wheel.
The quick list
- Most historic: The Original Ninfa's on Navigation, drinks Monday to Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.
- Longest window: Eight Row Flint East End, all day Monday.
- Best weekend happy hour: Eight Row Flint East End again, Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with breakfast tacos.
- Cheapest pours: Little Woodrow's EaDo, $3 select drafts and $3 wells.
- Latest finish, Tuesday to Friday: Little Woodrow's EaDo, until 7 p.m.
- Best for soccer fans: Pitch 25 Beer Park, with an indoor pitch and a beer garden.
- Best snack deal: Rodeo Goat, $8 sliders and half-off queso.
- Most unusual: Truck Yard, a food-truck yard with its own Ferris wheel.
Second Ward: Navigation and Harrisburg
The oldest part of the East End has the strongest food-first happy hours, all within a short drive of each other.
1. The Original Ninfa's on Navigation
2704 Navigation Blvd, Second Ward · happy hour drinks Monday to Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.
The Original Ninfa's on Navigation in Houston's East End is where, by the restaurant's own account, Mama Ninfa Laurenzo began grilling skirt steak and folding it into handmade flour tortillas in 1973, inside her family's tortilla factory. She called the dish tacos al carbon; the rest of the world came to know it as fajitas. The restaurant was a James Beard Award semifinalist in 2019.
The happy hour is drinks only at this location: the Original Ninfarita, frozen or on the rocks, is $7 (or $25 a pitcher), Tex-Mex cocteles like the Ranch Water and Paloma Tradicional are $8, sangria is $5 a glass, Texas draft beers are $4, and El Tex Mex Combo, any Texas draft with a 1-ounce shot of blanco tequila, is $8. Ninfa's says its happy hour bites menu runs at its Uptown location only.
Order: a frozen Ninfarita, then stay for a plate of tacos al carbon from the regular menu where they started.
2. Eight Row Flint East End
3501 Harrisburg Blvd, Suite A, Second Ward · happy hour all day Monday, Tuesday to Friday 2 to 6 p.m., Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Eight Row Flint East End, the Harrisburg Boulevard sibling of the Heights whiskey bar from Agricole Hospitality, has the most generous schedule on this list. Its weekly specials sheet lists drink specials all day on Mondays and from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, plus a weekend happy hour called Viva La Cruda from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. with breakfast tacos.
The weeknight specials are worth planning around too: Tuesday industry night (7 p.m. to close) brings $8 mix-and-match drinks, an $8 cheeseburger and fries and free pool; Wednesday has $6 espresso martinis after 7 p.m.; and Thursday is steak night with half-off wine bottles from 5 to 10 p.m.
The I-didn't-know-that: on a Monday in the East End, happy hour never actually ends. Eight Row Flint East End runs it from open to close.
3. Neighbors
3401 Harrisburg Blvd, Suite A, Second Ward · happy hour Monday to Friday, 4 to 6 p.m.
Neighbors is a New York-style pizza restaurant and full bar a block from Eight Row Flint on Harrisburg Boulevard. Its website advertises 25% off during happy hour on weekdays from 4 to 6 p.m.; ask your server exactly what the discount covers. The bar typically opens at 4 p.m. on weekdays, so happy hour starts the minute the doors do.
Order: an 18-inch cheese pie for the table, or slices and a cocktail if you're on your own. For more pies around town, see our best pizza in Houston.
Magnolia Park
4. Cochinita & Co.
5420 Lawndale St, Suite 500, Magnolia Park · happy hour Monday to Friday, 4 to 6 p.m.
Cochinita & Co. in Houston's East End is the only daytime-first spot on this list: it typically opens at 8 a.m. Monday to Saturday and closes at 9 p.m., with a happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m. on weekdays. The restaurant lists James Beard semifinalist recognition in both 2023 and 2024 on its website.
Order: the restaurant's namesake cochinita pibil, Yucatán-style slow-roasted pork, with whatever is on the happy hour list. Check the daily menus on the official site before you go.
EaDo: by the stadiums
East Downtown's happy hours cluster around Dallas Street and St. Emanuel Street, a short walk from Daikin Park and Shell Energy Stadium, which makes them natural pre-game stops. See our Daikin Park guide for game-day logistics.
5. Little Woodrow's EaDo
801 St. Emanuel St, EaDo · happy hour Monday to Thursday 3 to 7 p.m., Friday noon to 7 p.m.
Little Woodrow's EaDo calls itself an outdoor backyard bar and "Astros Gameday HQ," and it has the cheapest pours on this list: $3 select drafts, $3 wells, $5 select liquors and $5 select shots. Friday's happy hour starts at noon, which no other pick here matches.
Good to know: the bar opens early for Astros day games, and it's strictly 21 and up after 7 p.m. (or until the seventh inning of Astros home games). Anyone under 21 before then must be with a parent or guardian.
6. Pitch 25 Beer Park
2120 Walker St, EaDo · happy hour Monday to Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.
Pitch 25 Beer Park opened in EaDo in 2018, founded by former Houston Dynamo star Brian Ching. The pitch inside is real, and the 25 is his jersey number. Happy hour brings select $5 beers and half-off wine by the glass.
The weekly specials stack nicely: Monday is six tacos for $12 from 2 p.m. (pair them with a happy hour margarita), and on Tuesday and Friday steak nights, ordering the $30 ribeye special gets you a beer at happy hour pricing. Metered street parking and paid lots are nearby.
Best for: watching a match with a crowd. Pair it with our Houston Dynamo coverage.
7. Rodeo Goat
2105 Dallas St at St. Emanuel St, EaDo · Rodeo Time Monday to Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.
Rodeo Goat in EaDo is a Texas burger bar, and its happy hour, called Rodeo Time, is mostly about snacks: $8 Bodacious sliders and half-off queso, plus $2 off drafts, $4 off wine and $6 Ritas and Rattlesnakes. On Wednesdays, cheese fries are half price all day. The deals are dine-in only.
Order: sliders and queso, then a full burger if Rodeo Time turns into dinner. For more, see our best burgers in the East End.
8. Truck Yard
2118 Lamar St, EaDo · happy hour Monday to Thursday, 4 to 6 p.m.
Truck Yard Houston is an outdoor bar with rotating food trucks, live music and, the part people photograph, its own Ferris wheel, which typically runs Friday and Saturday from 6 p.m. to midnight. Happy hour runs Monday to Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m.; the yard typically opens at 4 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and at noon Thursday to Sunday. It's 21 and up after 9 p.m.
Insider tip: happy hour and the Ferris wheel never overlap, since one is weekday afternoons and the other is weekend nights. Come for one, come back for the other. Our best patios in EaDo guide has more open-air spots nearby.
