Best Restaurants in Fulshear, TX: 13 Places to Eat and What to Order

Long before Fulshear had a restaurant scene, it had a lunch service. The City of Fulshear's own history says that when the passenger train made its daily noon stop, local women would prepare and hand over basket lunches for the train crew.

Fulshear has been feeding hungry travelers since the noon train.

The town has changed a lot since then. The city counted 716 residents in 2000 and 16,856 at the 2020 census, and master-planned communities like Cross Creek Ranch now ring the old crossroads. The dining scene has grown with it. You can eat Gulf oysters a block from the historic intersection, order Tex-Mex from a Houston family name that dates to 1941, watch belly dancing over hummus on a Saturday night, and get lunch from a cafe that trains young adults with autism for the workforce.

Here are the 13 places we'd send you first, what to order at each, and a one-day eating route you can save.

How we define Fulshear

Fulshear sprawls, and addresses can mislead. For this guide we include:

  • Downtown Fulshear, the old town around the crossroads of FM 359 and FM 1093, including Front Street and Syms Street.
  • The FM 1093 corridor east of downtown, where Cross Creek Ranch's shopping centers sit.
  • The FM 1463 corridor on the Cross Creek Ranch side, near Fulshear High School.
  • South Fry Road locations that use a Fulshear mailing address.

Every pick has a Fulshear address on its own official website. Some, especially along FM 1463, sit in the city's extraterritorial jurisdiction rather than inside the city limits. That's how most locals think of Fulshear anyway. Neighboring Katy, Richmond, Simonton and Brookshire are out of scope; see the end of this guide for those.

How we chose

We started with the Fulshear Regional Chamber's restaurant directory and the places Fulshear families actually talk about, then kept only restaurants whose official websites confirmed, in October 2026, that they're open at a Fulshear address. We favored local and Texas-grown names over national chains, and we mixed counter-service breakfast and cheap lunches with sit-down dinners. Hours below come from each official site. They change, so check before you go. Nobody paid to be on this list.

Four things even locals don't know

  • Victor's started near the Beltway. The family's first restaurant, Victor's Casa Garcia, opened in 1979 near the Beltway and I-10. The founder's son now runs the Fulshear location.
  • You can eat 1941 Houston Tex-Mex on FM 1463. Molina's Cantina has served Houston since 1941, and Fulshear is one of just three locations, alongside Westheimer and Bellaire.
  • Your lunch can be a job-training program. Texana Cafe's food is made by people with autism, intellectual disabilities or other special needs, and its interns train under a Board Certified Behavior Analyst.
  • There's a speakeasy behind a wine bar on Front Street. Ask about the Velvet Dram at Vino Veritas.

Downtown Fulshear: FM 359 and the old crossroads

Downtown is small enough to park once and walk between several of these.

Pier 36 Seafood & Oyster Bar

The Cantu family's seafood house sits one block north of where FM 359 turns north off FM 1093, which makes it the most central table in town. The menu is broad Gulf Coast: oysters raw or baked, boiled shrimp, po'boys, pastas and steaks.

What to order: baked oysters topped with Parmesan, crabmeat and spinach, or the Acapulco cocktail, a Mexican-style shrimp cocktail with tortilla chips. Sharing with a group? The seafood fondue (shrimp, crawfish and mushrooms in a white-wine cream sauce) disappears fast.

Good to know: 8502 FM 359. Typically open Monday to Saturday for lunch and dinner and closed Sunday. Weekday lunch menu and a weekday happy hour at the bar. Pier 36

Victor's Mexican Grille

A family Tex-Mex name since 1979, with fajitas, margaritas, brunch, happy hour and party packs to take home. This is the dependable weeknight Tex-Mex dinner that every small town needs.

What to order: sizzling fajitas and a frozen margarita, then take a party pack home if you're feeding a crowd.

Good to know: 8525 FM 359, Suite 300. Typically open daily from 11 a.m. Private dining room for groups. Victor's Mexican Grille

Texana Cafe

The cafe with the best reason to eat there. Texana Cafe's mission is to serve exceptional food while supporting meaningful employment for neurodiverse people, and it's a breakfast and lunch spot for Fulshear as well as a training ground.

What to order: the roast beef sandwich on brioche with garlic mayo, green apple and caramelized onions, or the turkey on rosemary focaccia with spicy feta, mozzarella, roasted peppers and pesto. Grab a scratch-made sweet for the road.

Good to know: 7440 FM 359. Breakfast and lunch only; check the cafe's site for current days and hours. It also takes custom orders for cake pops and cookies. Texana Cafe

Pepperoni's

A Houston-area pizza chain that started in 1990 with New York-style pies. It's the reliable family pizza night: pizza, wings, salads and pasta, with dine-in, carryout and delivery.

What to order: a New York-style pie. The company says its dough uses untreated flour that's never bleached or bromated, and its sauce starts with California tomatoes grown for the brand.

Good to know: 8510 FM 359, on the same downtown stretch as Pier 36. Pepperoni's

Saltgrass Steak House

Yes, it's a Texas chain. But Fulshear's Saltgrass on Syms Street puts on local live music Thursday through Sunday, which turns a steak dinner into a night out.

What to order: a chargrilled steak. The bread, soups and desserts are made from scratch daily.

Good to know: 8506 Syms Street. Typically open daily from 11 a.m., with a weekday happy hour. Saltgrass Fulshear

Vino Veritas

Call it Fulshear's after-dinner stop. Vino Veritas calls itself Fulshear's first wine tasting room, and pours rotating wines from small vineyards around the world, plus craft beer, with small bites. Inside is the Velvet Dram, an intimate speakeasy for small-batch spirits and rare pours.

What to order: a tasting tray to work through the list, then a nightcap in the Velvet Dram (reservations recommended).

Good to know: 30634 Front Street. Typically closed Monday and Tuesday and open into the evening the rest of the week, with a Sunday daytime session. Live music on the patio Friday and Saturday nights, no cover. Vino Veritas

A family Mexican cafe with a full breakfast menu, a bar and a second location in East Bernard.

What to order: for breakfast, the birriaquiles (red chilaquiles on a hot skillet topped with birria) or huevos divorciados, two eggs in red and green salsa. Later in the day, the papanachos: potato wedges topped with fajita meat and chile con queso.

Good to know: 28840 FM 1093, Suite 110. Lupe's Mexican Cafe

L3 Craft Coffee

A coffee shop that roasts its beans fresh and serves breakfast and pastries. The name stands for Love, Laugh and Learn.

There's belly dancing on Friday and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. and live music on Thursday evenings.

What to order: the cold mezze trio (hummus, roasted-pepper hummus and baba ghanouj), a fattoush salad, then the grill-to-share platter of chicken tawook, beef tenderloin kabob and kafta for the table.

Good to know: 28432 FM 1093, Suite G. Typically open daily for lunch and dinner, later on weekends. Watch for its midweek wine deals. Mezze #1 Fulshear
