- Best Bars in Fulshear, TX: Wine, Taps, Patios and Happy Hours
The best bars in Fulshear, TX are Vino Veritas and its hidden speakeasy, The Velvet Dram, in downtown Fulshear; The Growler Spot and its 40 rotating taps on FM 1093; and Project Halo Brewing, the town's own brewery on FM 359. Round out a night with patio happy hours at Saltgrass, Pier 36 and Victor's near the FM 359 and FM 1093 crossroads, or late drinks at The Local Spot in Cross Creek Ranch.
Fulshear doesn't have a bar district. It has something better for a small town: a wine bar with a secret room inside it, a beer bar staffed by certified beer experts, and a brewery run by a husband-and-wife team whose operations manager is a former Green Beret. Here's where to go and what to order.
How do we define Fulshear?
For this guide, Fulshear means venues with a Fulshear, TX 77441 address: the historic downtown around FM 359 and FM 1093, the FM 1093 and FM 1463 corridors, and the master-planned community of Cross Creek Ranch. We left out bars with Katy or Richmond addresses, even the ones a short drive away. For those, see our guides to the best bars in Katy and the best bars in Richmond.
How we chose
Every pick was confirmed open on its own official website in October 2026, with current hours posted. Fulshear's scene is small, so we mixed dedicated bars with restaurants that run a real bar program: a lounge, an oyster bar, a weekday happy hour or live music on the patio. Each one had to give you a reason to stay for a second drink. Hours and happy-hour prices change, so treat every time and price below as typical and check the venue's site before you go.
The quick list
- For a date night: Vino Veritas, then The Velvet Dram inside it.
- For beer nerds: The Growler Spot, with 40 rotating taps.
- For local beer: Project Halo Brewing, brewed in Fulshear.
- For happy hour on a patio: Saltgrass Steak House's No Bull Lounge.
- For oysters and a frozen drink: Pete's Oyster Bar at Pier 36.
- For a cheap margarita: Victor's Mexican Grille.
- For a late Friday: The Local Spot, typically open until midnight.
Downtown Fulshear
Downtown Fulshear is where the town's drinking is most concentrated, around the point where FM 359 turns north off FM 1093.
Vino Veritas
30634 Front St, downtown Fulshear · wine bar · typically closed Monday and Tuesday
Vino Veritas in downtown Fulshear bills itself as Fulshear's first wine tasting room. The curated wine flights are updated weekly and carry the names of classic songs; look for the Texas flight, which pours Texas wines. Not a wine person? There are twelve draft beers, served in a chilled mug.
The real draw is the patio on weekends. Vino Veritas typically has live music on the patio every Friday and Saturday night from 7:30 to 10:30 pm, with no cover, plus a Sunday jazz brunch with live saxophone in the early afternoon. Happy hour typically runs Wednesday to Saturday until 7 pm, with a discount on beer and wine flights.
What to order: a weekly flight. Best for: date nights and a slow Saturday on the patio.
The Velvet Dram
Inside Vino Veritas, 30634 Front St · speakeasy · reservations recommended
Here's the surprise: tucked inside Vino Veritas is a hidden speakeasy called The Velvet Dram. Vino Veritas describes it as a room for small-batch spirits, rare pours and candlelit conversation. Reserve ahead, because it's a small room and Vino Veritas recommends reservations.
What to order: a rare pour you won't find on a chain bar's shelf. Best for: whiskey fans and anniversaries. More hidden rooms are in our best speakeasies in Houston guide.

Saltgrass Steak House (No Bull Lounge)
8506 Syms St, Fulshear · lounge and covered patio · open daily

Happy hour is served in the No Bull Lounge, typically Monday through Friday from 3 to 7 pm, with discounted draft beer, house margaritas, well drinks and wine. Saltgrass promises live music every weekend, with its posted lineup typically running Friday through Sunday evenings, and a covered patio for drinks all season long.
What to order: a Ranch Water or a Bourbon Old Fashioned. Best for: happy hour with a group, and weekend music on the patio.
FM 1093 and FM 359 South
The Growler Spot
29615 FM 1093, Fulshear · beer bar and kitchen · typically closed Monday
The Growler Spot, established in 2013, is Fulshear's deep-tap beer bar: 40 continuously rotating taps, 11 wines on tap, and staff the bar says are Cicerone certified (a recognized beer-expertise credential). The board pulls from Texas breweries such as Real Ale, Lone Pint, Saint Arnold, Equal Parts and Fulshear's own Project Halo. There's a kitchen, too, with smash burgers, wings and pizza; order at the bar, no reservations needed.
The weekly calendar is the reason regulars come back. Thursday is Geeks Who Drink trivia at 7 pm, Tuesday night is a mahjong meet-up with a wine discount, and Sunday typically brings a discount on growler and crowler fills.
Insider tip: every August, The Growler Spot marks its anniversary with a special beer list. Watch its site for the date.
What to order: ask the bartender what's newly on tap, then take a 32-ounce crowler home. Best for: beer fans and trivia teams. Compare it with Houston's best craft beer bars.
Project Halo Brewing
6510 FM 359 S, Suite 300, Fulshear · brewery taproom · open daily
Project Halo Brewing is Fulshear's hometown brewery, a boutique operation owned by a husband-and-wife team that makes lagers and ales. The head brewer trained in the West Texas A&M brewing program, and the operations manager is a former Special Forces Green Beret. The brewery says it enters just two competitions, the U.S. Open Beer Championships and the Texas Craft Brewers Cup, and lists awards from both on its site.
The beer names are half the fun. Frosted Tips, a blonde ale, is named after the hairstyle everyone had in the 1990s, and Frida Forever is a cold IPA named for Frida Kahlo. The taproom is air-conditioned, and Project Halo invites you to bring your dog and the whole family.
What to order: Halo Light, the brewery's award-winning light lager, or Patagucci, its West Coast IPA. Best for: families, dog owners and a Saturday afternoon. More taprooms are in our best breweries in Houston guide.
