- Best Brunch in the Galleria and Uptown: 11 Weekend Picks
The best brunch in the Galleria and Uptown ranges from Caracol's Sunday buffet with an unlimited oyster bar and the fixed-price brunch at Bloom & Bee in The Post Oak Hotel to breakfast tacos at URBE in Uptown Park and an 8 a.m. deli breakfast at Kenny & Ziggy's on Post Oak Boulevard. Below are eleven picks, each checked on its official site.
Before it was the Galleria, before the towers and the valet stands, Post Oak was farmland. The Uptown Houston District's own history notes that Italian immigrant families once grew vegetables along what is now Post Oak Boulevard, and that the road didn't even become a "Boulevard" until 1981. Today that same strip holds a Sunday buffet with an unlimited oyster bar, a deli that opens at 8 a.m. every day, and a revival of one of Houston's most famous fine-dining names.
This is our shortlist for brunch in the Galleria and Uptown: eleven places worth a weekend reservation, from champagne-and-sushi hotel brunch to breakfast tacos at a counter. Every one was checked against its own official website in October 2026.
What we mean by "Galleria and Uptown"
For this guide, Galleria and Uptown means the Uptown District around Post Oak Boulevard: west of Loop 610, roughly from Woodway Drive in the north to Richmond Avenue in the south, and out to about Chimney Rock Road in the west. That takes in The Galleria, BLVD Place, Uptown Park and the towers along Post Oak and Westheimer. River Oaks District and Highland Village sit just east of 610, so they aren't on this list. For those, see our River Oaks restaurant guide.
The quick list
- For a big-occasion brunch: Bloom & Bee at The Post Oak Hotel, or Caracol's Sunday buffet.
- For a Houston legend: The Annie, a revival of a name that first opened on Post Oak in 1984.
- For Tex-Mex with history: Ninfa's Uptown, the Post Oak outpost of The Original Ninfa's, whose founder's tacos al carbon became known as fajitas.
- For French on a Sunday: Étoile in Uptown Park.
- For a patio and a mimosa bottle: Moxies.
- For something lighter: True Food Kitchen at BLVD Place.
- For a fast, cheap morning: URBE's breakfast tacos or Kenny & Ziggy's deli.
- For a Galleria shopping day: The Cheesecake Factory or Grand Lux Cafe.
How we chose
We picked restaurants inside our Uptown boundary that serve a real weekend brunch or a full breakfast menu, and we confirmed each one on its official website: address, hours and brunch service as of October 2026. We left out places whose sites didn't confirm a current brunch, and restaurants that have closed (Fig & Olive at The Galleria, a past favourite, is gone).
On drinks: we only mention a bottomless or unlimited deal if the restaurant publishes it. None of the places below advertises bottomless mimosas on its own site, so don't assume one. Brunch hours change with seasons and holidays, so treat every time here as "typically" and check before you go.
Dress-up brunch
Bloom & Bee at The Post Oak Hotel
1600 West Loop South, inside The Post Oak Hotel · brunch Saturday and Sunday
Bloom & Bee is the lobby restaurant of The Post Oak Hotel, styled like a garden, with an outdoor patio. Weekend brunch typically runs 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and is built as a two-part meal: a chef's buffet of seafood, sushi, salads, charcuterie and cheeses, then a plated main such as smoked salmon Benedict on sourdough, blue corn and ricotta pancakes, or carved prime rib. It finishes with a box of French pastries. Brunch is a fixed price per person, so check the current menu on the hotel's site.
Good to know: the dress code is business casual. The 38-story hotel also has its own helicopter pad access, which may be the most Uptown sentence ever written.
Best for: birthdays, visiting parents and anyone who wants a long, fancy weekend lunch.
Caracol
2200 Post Oak Blvd · brunch Saturday, buffet on Sunday
Chef Hugo Ortega's coastal Mexican restaurant runs a Sunday brunch buffet that includes an unlimited oyster bar, plus antojitos from the comal, tamales, ceviches, enchiladas, chile rellenos and egg dishes like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. Caracol says it makes its masa, cheeses, salsas and moles in-house, and Sunday brunch typically comes with live music. There's a separate Saturday brunch menu too.
Insider tip: if you self-park in the garage, get your ticket validated at the host stand. Valet is also available.
Best for: seafood lovers and anyone who thinks oysters count as breakfast. More seafood ideas in our best seafood restaurants guide.
The Annie Café & Bar
1800 Post Oak Blvd · brunch Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Here's the "I didn't know that" pick. The Annie first opened in 1984 and became one of Houston's big fine-dining names. After it closed, Berg Hospitality brought the concept back, in what the restaurant describes as its original location. Weekend brunch mixes egg dishes and cocktails with lunch classics: think lobster omelet, egg and chorizo enchilada, filet Benedict and chicken-fried prime rib, with scratch biscuits and half-shell oysters for the table.
Best for: Houstonians who remember the old Annie, and anyone who wants a polished room without a buffet.
Étoile Cuisine et Bar
1101-11 Uptown Park Blvd · Sunday brunch
Étoile is a French restaurant in Uptown Park, run by husband-and-wife owners Philippe Verpiand, a Master Chef of France, and Monica Bui. The farmhouse-style room keeps things unpretentious. The Sunday brunch menu leans classic: eggs Benedict with smoked salmon or bacon, soft-scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and crème fraîche, avocado brioche toast with poached eggs, and a burger with a sunny-side-up egg. Reservations are recommended.
Best for: a quiet, grown-up Sunday.
Lively brunch with friends
Ninfa's Uptown
1700 Post Oak Blvd, BLVD Place · brunch Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
This is the Uptown outpost of The Original Ninfa's. The story is pure Houston: in 1973, Mama Ninfa Laurenzo started grilling skirt steak and serving it in handmade flour tortillas from her family's tortilla factory in the East End. She called the dish tacos al carbon; the world came to know it as fajitas. Weekend brunch typically runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at both Ninfa's locations.
Best for: a Tex-Mex brunch that doubles as a history lesson. For more, see our best Tex-Mex in Houston guide.
Moxies
5000 Westheimer Rd, Suite 250 · brunch Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Moxies is a two-level restaurant at Westheimer and Post Oak with a large patio and plenty of TVs, which makes it the obvious brunch for a game day. Its brunch drinks menu lets you build mimosas by the bottle: pick your bubbles, from cava up to Champagne, then pair it with orange, grapefruit or pineapple-orange juice. There's also a kids' brunch menu.
Best for: groups, patio people and sports fans. More outdoor tables in our patio dining guide.
True Food Kitchen
1700 Post Oak Blvd, BLVD Place · weekend brunch
The BLVD Place location has been open since July 2014 and serves its seasonal, health-minded menu at weekend brunch, with plenty of vegan, vegetarian and gluten-friendly options. It typically opens at 10 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, and there's garage parking at the building.
Best for: the friend who wants brunch without the food coma.
Easy, casual and cheap
URBE
1101 Uptown Park Blvd, Suite 12 · brunch Saturday and Sunday
URBE is Hugo Ortega and Tracy Vaught's Mexican street-food spot in Uptown Park, with counter-service breakfast on weekday mornings and brunch on weekends (typically 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday). Order breakfast tacos, molletes (Mexican avocado toast with bacon and a sunny-side-up egg) or chilaquiles in salsa de tomatillo, and save room for something from the bakery case. It's closed Mondays.
Best for: a quick, affordable brunch before a walk at Memorial Park.
Kenny & Ziggy's New York Delicatessen
1743 Post Oak Blvd · open daily from 8 a.m.
Not a brunch place in the mimosa sense, but the best answer to "where can we eat breakfast in Uptown at 8 a.m. on a Sunday?" Kenny & Ziggy's serves big breakfast plates, fresh blintzes and towering deli sandwiches, and it cures and pickles its own meats. It's typically open every day from 8 a.m.
Best for: early risers, big appetites and anyone craving a real deli.
The Cheesecake Factory at The Galleria
5015 Westheimer Rd · brunch Saturday and Sunday until 2 p.m.
Brunch with a view of the ice rink. This location has interior entrances on the main level and on the second floor above The Galleria Ice Rink, plus an outside entrance facing Westheimer. Weekend brunch is typically served until 2 p.m., with doors opening at 10 a.m. on Sundays.
Best for: a shopping day with kids. Plan the rest of it with our Galleria guide.
Grand Lux Cafe
5000 Westheimer Rd · brunch Saturday and Sunday
Grand Lux serves a weekend brunch menu alongside its full menu. Look for red velvet pancakes, caramel banana pancakes, B.L.T. Benedict and fried chicken and waffles. Brunch typically runs from opening until 2 p.m. on weekends.
Best for: large groups who can't agree on anything.
Save this: a Galleria brunch-to-afternoon route
- Start at URBE in Uptown Park around 10 a.m. for breakfast tacos and a pastry.
- Walk it off on Post Oak Boulevard. The Uptown District says the boulevard is lined with more than 1,000 Cathedral Live Oak trees, so it's a shady stroll.
- Stop at the Gerald D. Hines Waterwall Park for photos. The district occasionally switches it off for maintenance, so check Uptown Houston's site first.
- Shop The Galleria, then watch the skaters on the ice rink.
- Late brunch or early cocktails at Moxies or Ninfa's, both open well into the evening.
