Best Pizza in the Galleria and Uptown: Dine-In, Slices, Delivery

Date Published

Illustrated night skyline with steel arches and a pizza for pizza Galleria and Uptown guide

For pizza in the Galleria and Uptown, our picks are North Italia and True Food Kitchen at BLVD Place on Post Oak Boulevard, Grotto on Westheimer for half-price happy hour pies, Craft F&B in The Post Oak Hotel for a late wood-fired pizza, and Sbarro inside The Galleria for a quick New York-style slice. For delivery to a hotel or apartment, Pepperoni's on the West Loop and Papa Johns on Chimney Rock cover late nights.

Here's the part most Galleria shoppers never notice: one building, BLVD Place at 1700 Post Oak Blvd, has two different pizza menus under its roof, so a group that can't agree on dinner can split the difference in the same parking garage. That's the Galleria and Uptown pizza scene in a nutshell. Most of the good pies here come out of restaurant kitchens, hotel lobbies and mall food courts, not corner slice shops. You just have to know which door to walk through.

This is the shortlist we'd hand a friend looking for pizza in the Galleria and Uptown. It's organized by style, then by how you want to eat it: at a table, at the counter, or delivered to a hotel room or apartment.

The quick list

  • For a pizza date night with a cocktail: North Italia at BLVD Place.
  • For half-price pizza after work: Grotto on Westheimer, at weekday happy hour in the bar and on the patio.
  • For pizza and a local beer until late: Craft F&B inside The Post Oak Hotel.
  • For an old-school family Italian dinner: Piatto Ristorante, tucked behind Dillard's.
  • For a gluten-free or plant-forward pie: True Food Kitchen.
  • For a New York slice between stores: Sbarro inside The Galleria.
  • For delivery to your hotel or apartment: Pepperoni's Pizza on the West Loop, or Papa Johns on Chimney Rock.
  • For a build-your-own pie on a budget: MOD Pizza at Richmond and Sage.

Where the Galleria and Uptown start and stop

"Galleria area" gets stretched to cover half of west Houston, so we kept it strict. For this guide, the Galleria and Uptown means the box bounded by the West Loop (I-610) on the east, Chimney Rock Road on the west, US-59/I-69 on the south and the Woodway and Buffalo Bayou edge on the north. That takes in Post Oak Boulevard, Uptown Park, BLVD Place, the mall itself and the blocks around Richmond, Sage and San Felipe. The Uptown Houston District business directory was our starting list.

Places just across the Loop in Highland Village, Greenway or River Oaks District are left out, and so are pizzerias west of Chimney Rock, however good they are. If you're willing to drive, our citywide best pizza in Houston guide covers the rest.

How we chose

We started with every pizza-serving business in the Uptown Houston District directory, then kept only places that show a current address inside our boundary, plus hours, on their own official website as of October 2026. Each one had to give you a reason to choose it: a defined style, a wood-fired oven, a setting worth the trip, or a delivery window that actually fits Galleria life.

That left nine. The neighborhood has very few dedicated independent pizzerias, so several picks are full restaurants where pizza is one strong section of the menu. We'd rather tell you that than pad the list. Hours change, so treat every schedule here as "typically" and check the restaurant's site before you go.

Wood-fired and sit-down pizza

North Italia

BLVD Place, 1700 Post Oak Blvd · dine-in, pickup and delivery · open daily

North Italia at BLVD Place is our pick for the most polished pizza dinner in Uptown. The pizza section of the menu runs from a classic Margherita to a cacio e pepe pie built on pecorino fonduta, a spicy meatball pizza with house ricotta, and a fig and prosciutto pie finished with black truffle honey.

Insider tip: the menu offers to make any pizza "bomba style" for the crust, for an upcharge, and a gluten-free crust is available too. Weekday happy hour typically runs 3 to 6 p.m., and weekend brunch runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.

Best for: date night, client dinners, and anyone who wants a cocktail list with their pie.

Grotto Ristorante

4715 Westheimer, by the Galleria · dine-in, pickup and delivery · open daily

Grotto bills itself as old-country Italian charm by the Galleria, and its own site lists Neapolitan thin-crust pizza among its signature dishes. The pizza list keeps it classic: Margherita with Roma tomatoes, a pepperoni pie on San Marzano sauce, the "Meatzza" with house-made meatballs, sausage and pancetta, and an herb-roasted chicken pizza. A gluten-free cauliflower crust is available.

Insider tip: Grotto's weekday happy hour, typically 2 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, puts pizza at half off. It only applies in the bar and on the patio, so don't sit in the dining room if that's what you came for. Pair it with Grotto's Peach Bellini, which the restaurant calls famous.

Best for: a long shopping-break lunch or an after-work pizza on the patio.

Craft F&B at The Post Oak Hotel

The Post Oak Hotel, 1600 West Loop South · dine-in and take-away · open daily, until midnight Thursday to Saturday

Craft F&B sits off the main lobby of The Post Oak Hotel, with exposed brick, communal high-top tables and wood-fired pizzas alongside pub-style comfort food. The dress code is casual, and it's built for catching a game with friends.

Insider tip: the beer list has leaned local, with Houston brews such as Saint Arnold's Art Car IPA and SpindleTap's Houston Haze. Order a pie and a Houston beer and you've done Uptown pizza night properly. The kitchen typically stays open until midnight Thursday through Saturday, which makes it one of the area's best late options for a sit-down pizza.

Best for: late dinners, watching a game, and out-of-town guests staying in Uptown.

Piatto Ristorante

4925 West Alabama St, behind Dillard's · dine-in, takeout and catering · closed Sundays

Piatto is a family Italian restaurant from the Carrabba family, with an American twist on homestyle cooking and a short pizza list that reads like a family album. Papa Joe's Speciali comes with pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms and Kalamata olives; Bill's Supreme adds pepperoncini and ricotta salata; the Margherita is made with basil pesto.

Insider tip: parking is free in the garage attached to the restaurant, a real perk this close to the Galleria. Note the unusual schedule: lunch only on Monday, dinner only on Saturday, closed Sunday, with a Tuesday to Friday social hour in the late afternoon.

Best for: a relaxed family dinner without the mall crowds.

True Food Kitchen

BLVD Place, 1700 Post Oak Blvd · dine-in, pickup and delivery · open daily

True Food Kitchen is the health-driven pick, with a whole "Sourdough Pizzas" section on a menu built around vegan-friendly and gluten-friendly choices. It's the place to bring the friend who is skipping dairy or gluten but still wants pizza night.

Insider tip: self-parking is in the on-site garage at BLVD Place, the same garage that serves North Italia next door. Weekend hours typically start at 10 a.m. for brunch.

Best for: mixed groups with dietary needs.

New York-style slices and quick pies

Sbarro at The Galleria

Inside The Galleria, 5015 Westheimer Rd · counter service and online ordering · typically open during mall hours

Yes, a mall-court slice. But it's the easiest New York-style slice inside The Galleria, and the backstory is better than you'd expect. Sbarro began in 1956 as a family salumeria in Brooklyn, where Carmela "Mama" Sbarro made pizza slices for shift workers. The slices sold so well that the family opened a second shop just for pizza. The company's own site still teaches "Fold School": fold the slice, no fork.

Best for: a fast slice between stores, and kids who are done shopping.

Pepperoni's Pizza (Galleria)

3005 W Loop S #120 · carryout and delivery

Pepperoni's Pizza is a Houston-area chain that opened its first store in 1990 with New York-style pizza, and the Galleria store sits right on the West Loop. Its sauce uses California tomatoes grown in partnership with the DiNapoli tomato company, and its dough is made from untreated flour that is never bleached or bromated, according to the company.

What to order: a classic pepperoni pie, plus wings if you're feeding a group. Vegan and gluten-free options are on the menu.

Best for: delivery to Uptown apartments, offices and hotels.

Delivery and build-your-own

Papa Johns (Chimney Rock)

3026 Chimney Rock Rd, on the area's western edge · delivery and carryout · open daily

The national chain's store on Chimney Rock posts the latest delivery hours of any pizza place we could confirm inside our boundary. Delivery and carryout typically run from 9:30 a.m. until midnight, and until 1 a.m. on Friday and Saturday nights.

Best for: late-night hotel-room orders and game nights.

MOD Pizza (Richmond and Sage)

5174 Richmond Ave · dine-in, pickup and delivery · open daily

MOD is the budget move: choose a signature pie or build your own at the counter. The store is typically open until 10 p.m., and until 11 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Best for: families, teens and quick weeknight dinners.

Dine in or delivery? How to choose

  • You want a pizza-and-wine night out: North Italia, Grotto or Craft F&B.
  • You're mid-shopping and starving: Sbarro inside the mall, or Grotto across Westheimer.
  • You're in a hotel room: Pepperoni's or Papa Johns for delivery; Craft F&B if you're staying at The Post Oak and want to walk downstairs.
  • You need gluten-free: Grotto's cauliflower crust, North Italia's gluten-free crust or True Food Kitchen.
  • You're feeding kids cheaply: MOD or Pepperoni's. Our kid-friendly restaurants guide has more ideas.

Save this: a Galleria pizza night in four stops

  1. 3 p.m. Shopping first? Grab a quick Sbarro slice inside The Galleria to keep you going.
  2. 4:30 p.m. Head to Grotto on Westheimer for half-price pizza at the bar or on the patio during weekday happy hour.
  3. 7:30 p.m. Back at BLVD Place for a proper dinner at North Italia. Ask for your pie bomba style.
  4. 10 p.m. On a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, finish with a Houston beer at Craft F&B in The Post Oak Hotel, open until midnight.

Too full to go out? Swap the whole thing for a Pepperoni's delivery and a movie in your room.
