- Best Bars in Seabrook, TX: A Floating Bar, Game Days and Old Seabrook
The best bars in Seabrook, TX sit in two places: along NASA Parkway on the north shore of Clear Lake, and in the shady blocks of Old Seabrook near Main Street. Our top picks are Barge 295 for drinks on a two-story bar that floats, Sam's Sunset Kitchen for game day on the water, Maribelles for a neighborhood dive, and Merlion Thai Restaurant & Lounge for happy hour on the patio and a late reverse happy hour at the bar.
Here's the story to tell at the table: Barge 295's current owners opened it five days before Hurricane Harvey hit in 2017, and Hurricane Beryl sank it to the bottom of Clear Lake in July 2024. It's floating again, and you can still drink on the lake instead of beside it.
Seabrook bars don't do velvet ropes. Think lake views, Texans Sundays, potlucks and frozen margarita samplers. Every pick below was checked as operating on its own website or its official social page in November 2026.
What counts as Seabrook in this guide?
We use the City of Seabrook's limits: the bay town between La Porte to the north and the Clear Creek channel and Kemah to the south, with Galveston Bay on the east and the Clear Lake area to the west along NASA Parkway. Every pick has a Seabrook, TX 77586 address on its own site, its official page or Visit Seabrook's dining directory.
That leaves out bars in Kemah, Clear Lake Shores, El Lago, Webster and La Porte, even when they feel like next door. They have their own guides: Kemah, Clear Lake and La Porte. One caveat: ZIP 77586 also covers El Lago and Taylor Lake Village, so a few NASA Parkway addresses sit close to the city line. We went with each business's own address and the city's tourism listings.
How we chose
We looked for places where the drink is the reason to go, or at least half of it: a waterfront deck, a game-day room, a real neighborhood bar, a happy hour worth planning around. Each pick had to show signs of life on an official source, such as posted hours, a current menu or recent posts on its own Facebook page. We dropped places whose pages had gone quiet or that are reported closed.
Hours and specials change, and several Seabrook bars announce theirs on Facebook rather than on a website. Treat every time below as "typically" and check before you go.

NASA Parkway: waterfront and game days
1. Barge 295
North shore of Clear Lake, 2613 1/2 NASA Pkwy, Seabrook · floating bar · patios on two levels
Barge 295 is a two-story bar built on a barge, with patios facing the lake. Beryl put the whole bar underwater in 2024, and the owners spent much of the next year serving from a food truck before the floating bar reopened in summer 2025.
What to order: a cold beer and whatever the weekly special is. Lineups posted on its Facebook page have included Wing Wednesday, $10 Barge Burgers on Tuesdays and Thursday-night cornhole tournaments for charity.
Why go: you're drinking on the lake, not beside it. Come before sunset and take the top deck.
2. Sam's Sunset Kitchen
Clear Lake waterfront, 3101 NASA Road 1, Seabrook · sports bar and seafood · patio
This is the Seabrook location of Sam's Boat, which reopened as Sam's Sunset Kitchen after a complete interior remodel. Its Facebook page calls it a waterfront dining spot with fresh Gulf seafood and 60 HDTVs for your games.
What to order: game-day beer specials, which the bar posts on Facebook before big Texans and Longhorns games, and a seafood basket.
Why go: if you want the game, the patio and the bay in one place, this is it. For more game rooms, see our best sports bars in Houston.
3. Maribelles
NASA Parkway, 3136 NASA Pkwy, Seabrook · neighborhood bar
Maribelles sums itself up in three words on its Facebook page: Seabrook's oldest bar. It's the kind of place whose Facebook page tells you which bartender is holding down the fort tonight.
What to do: come on a fall Sunday for its Football Sunday potluck, where you sign up to bring a dish and the bar backs the Texans. Holiday parties, like Halloween, get announced on the same page.
Why go: it's the least polished bar on this list, which is exactly the point.
4. Iguanas Ranas Cantina
NASA Parkway, 2900 E NASA Pkwy, Seabrook · Tex-Mex cantina
Iguanas Ranas is a Tex-Mex cantina with locations in Seabrook and Pearland. The drink menu leans hard into margaritas, frozen or on the rocks, with flavors from mango to watermelon.
What to order: the Cinco Locos, a 25-ounce sampler of frozen margaritas topped with five different flavors. The cantina also pours a monthly cocktail flight it calls the Flight of the Month.
Insider tip: the menu says you can order margaritas and cocktails to go in sizes from a quart to a gallon. Call ahead for prices.
Old Seabrook and Bayport Boulevard
5. Merlion Thai Restaurant & Lounge
Old Seabrook, 1205 Main St, Seabrook · Thai restaurant and lounge · patio
Merlion pairs Thai seafood with a real lounge. Happy hour runs typically 5 to 7 p.m. at the bar and on the patio only, with deals on domestic beer, house wells, house wine and half-price appetizers.
Insider tip: Merlion also runs a reverse happy hour at the bar, typically 10 p.m. to midnight. The kitchen closes earlier, but the bar typically stays open until midnight, and as late as 2 a.m. on weekend nights. Its posted hours run Tuesday to Sunday.
Know before you go: the main dining rooms have a dress code (no hats, cut-offs or tank tops). The bar and patio are the relaxed side.
6. The Backyard
Old Seabrook, 1301 4th St, Seabrook · bar and grill
The Backyard calls itself a bar and grill and a gastropub, and its Facebook page sums up the lineup: cocktails, craft beer, wine, burgers, mac and cheese and wings. It's typically closed Mondays, open Tuesday to Thursday evenings, and open from 10 a.m. Friday to Sunday.
What to order: something from the mac and cheese list, which runs from Elote and Buffalo Chicken to a Lobster Mac, or the pork belly bites in a hot honey garlic sauce.
Why go: it has a kids menu and a fireplace, so it works for a mixed group. Pair it with our Seabrook brunch guide on a weekend.
7. Seabrook Cheese Co.
Old Seabrook, 1406 Main St, Seabrook · cheese shop with wine
Seabrook Cheese Co. is a wine and specialty cheese shop with a small wine and cheese bar inside, set in what it calls a coastal bungalow on Main Street. It opened in December 2023, and you can stay for a cheese or charcuterie board or take chilled wine and artisan flatbreads home.
What to order: a cheese board and a glass of wine.
Why go: it's the quiet, grown-up start to an Old Seabrook evening. Hours aren't posted in a readable form on its site, so check its Instagram first. For more glasses by the bottle, see our best wine bars in Houston.
8. Tookie's Seafood
Waterfront District, 1106 Bayport Blvd, Seabrook · mesquite grill and shuck room
Tookie's isn't a bar first. It's a seafood house that calls itself a Mesquite Grill and Shuck Room, and it's where we'd send you for oysters before or after the bars. It's typically open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
What to order: the Pelicans, oysters topped with bacon, jalapeño and cheese. It's a fitting name in a town whose public art trail is the Pelican Path. Can't choose? The Oyster Trio gives you two each of three styles.
Save this: a Seabrook bar route in two parts
Never drive between bars after drinking. Use a rideshare or a designated driver.
Part one: Old Seabrook at golden hour
- Start at Seabrook Cheese Co. on Main Street with a board and a glass.
- Walk over to Merlion for the patio happy hour, typically 5 to 7 p.m.
- Grab mac and cheese at The Backyard on 4th Street if you need dinner.
Part two: NASA Parkway after dark
- Catch the sunset from the top deck of Barge 295.
- Head to Sam's Sunset Kitchen if there's a game on.
- Finish with a nightcap at Maribelles, which calls itself Seabrook's oldest bar.
Before you go: a quick checklist
- Check the bar's Facebook page the day you go. Barge 295, Maribelles and Sam's Sunset Kitchen post specials and events there.
- Plan around Mondays. The Backyard is closed, and Merlion's posted hours skip Mondays.
- Dressing for dinner at Merlion? Skip the hat and tank top in the main dining rooms.
- Bringing kids? The Backyard has a kids menu; check age policies anywhere else before you go.
- Hungry between rounds? Tookie's oysters and our best seafood in Clear Lake guide have you covered.
- Watch the water. Lakefront patios are at their best around sunset, so time Barge 295 or Sam's for then.
