- Best Bars in Magnolia, TX: Beer Gardens, Icehouses and Patios
The best bars in Magnolia, TX are Lone Pint Brewery's beer garden on Commerce Street, Deacon Baldy's food truck park and its 40 taps on FM 1488, and Moonshine Deck Icehouse's turf patio with live music every weekend. Eight Magnolia bars made this list, from a train-depot wine bar to a smoke-free cocktail lounge that will bring Thai food to your seat, and each one was checked as open on its own official website.
Here's the line to remember: Magnolia was named Mink, then Melton, and only became Magnolia in 1903 because the Post Office kept confusing Melton with Milton, according to the Texas State Historical Association. Its best drinking still happens a few blocks from the railroad the town moved to meet.
How we define Magnolia
For this guide, Magnolia means bars with a Magnolia, TX mailing address (ZIP 77354 or 77355) in Montgomery County, in two zones:
- Old Town and FM 1774: the City of Magnolia around the junction of FM 1488 and FM 1774, including Commerce Street, Buddy Riley Boulevard and the FM 1774 strip.
- The FM 1488 corridor: the unincorporated stretch of FM 1488 east of town that still carries a Magnolia address, stopping short of The Woodlands.
Bars in The Woodlands, Tomball, Pinehurst and Conroe are not included, even when their mailing address is close. For those, see our best bars in The Woodlands and best bars in Tomball guides.

How we chose
Every pick had to show a Magnolia address and current hours on its own official website, checked in November 2026. We looked for a real reason to make the drive: beer made on site, a patio worth sitting on, a game-day setup, live music or a drink you won't find elsewhere. We skipped national chains. A few well-known sports bars and pubs were left out only because we couldn't reach an official page confirming their address and hours.
Hours below are what each bar typically posts; check the official site before you go. Nobody paid to be on this list.
Old Town Magnolia and FM 1774
Lone Pint Brewery: can you drink beer where it's brewed?
507 Commerce St., Magnolia, TX 77355 · beer garden typically open daily, from 2 PM on weekdays and noon on weekends
Yes. Lone Pint Brewery in Old Town Magnolia pours its own beer in a beer garden at the brewery, and it is our first stop on any Magnolia bar night. The brewery says it started as a dream shared by a brother and sister who brewed 20 gallons at a time in a two-car garage, and it opened in 2012.
What to order: Yellow Rose, the flagship. It is a SMaSH IPA, short for single malt and single hop, brewed with only Pilsner malt and Mosaic hops, and Lone Pint describes grapefruit, pineapple and blueberry notes. Want something lighter? Little Rose is the 4.4% version. Hop fans should try The Jabberwocky, an 8.5% imperial IPA.
Insider tip: the brewery's spent grain goes to feed a local dairy farmer's cows, and its six-packs use a compostable holder. Kids with a parent and leashed dogs are welcome. The beer garden typically closes at 8 PM most nights (10 PM on Fridays and Saturdays), so this is an early stop, not a nightcap. See the official site for events and live music.
Best for: beer lovers, families and an afternoon start.
