Date Published

Seafood Tomball illustration: Gulf shrimp, crawfish and oysters on a platter under a night skyline

The best seafood in Tomball, Texas, comes from ten places spread between Old Town, State Highway 249 and Kuykendahl Road: Captain Brad’s Coastal Kitchen for a dedicated coastal seafood house, Craft Grill for blackened Louisiana redfish under crawfish sauce, Ceviche Ria for Mexican ceviche and aguachile platters, and Pecos Grilling Co. for catfish two ways. Old Town’s Graze and Bonfire Grill cover the dressier end, with blackened shrimp and grits, mussels and Chilean sea bass.

Here’s the thing nobody tells you about seafood in Tomball: crawfish shows up in more places than you’d think, just rarely in a boil. You’ll find it in cream sauce over redfish at Craft Grill, over Cajun catfish at Pecos, and rolled into sushi at Yokohamaya on FM 2920. If you want a full spread of boiled mudbugs on newspaper, our Houston crawfish guide covers where to go in season.

How we chose

Every pick had to be open, with current hours on its own official website as of November 2026, and serve seafood worth the trip, either as a dedicated seafood kitchen or with a standout fish, shrimp, crab or crawfish dish on its current menu. Dishes and prices below come from each restaurant’s own menu; prices change, so treat them as a guide and check before you go.

How we define Tomball: every restaurant here gives a Tomball, TX address on its own site, in the 77375 or 77377 ZIP codes. That covers Old Town Tomball, the State Highway 249 (Tomball Parkway) corridor, FM 2920 and the Kuykendahl Road and North Eldridge Parkway stretches. Some of those addresses sit outside the City of Tomball proper but carry a Tomball mailing address. We left out spots on Tomball Parkway with Houston ZIP codes (77070, 77064, 77086), places in Cypress 77433, and restaurants whose official sites no longer load.

Where is the best dedicated seafood restaurant in Tomball?

Captain Brad’s Coastal Kitchen on Tomball Parkway is our pick for a restaurant built entirely around coastal seafood.

Captain Brad’s Coastal Kitchen

24435 Tomball Pkwy, Tomball · typically open daily from 11 a.m.

Captain Brad’s Coastal Kitchen has one of the best backstories we found in Tomball dining. According to the restaurant, Captain Brad was born near Apalachicola, Florida, the son of a commercial crabber and a mother who shucked oysters, and he worked the Florida, Louisiana and Texas coasts as a crabber, shrimper and oysterman before opening his first restaurant in the mid-1990s. He ran three Houston-area seafood restaurants by the time he died in 2017, and his daughter and his crew brought the concept to Tomball.

What to order: the menu lives on the restaurant’s online ordering page, so browse it before you go and ask what’s fresh that day. The kitchen’s promise, in its own words, is fresh seafood served with Southern hospitality.

Why go: it’s the only spot on this list where seafood is the whole point, not one section of the menu. It typically stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Where can you get Gulf shrimp and redfish in Tomball?

Craft Grill on Kuykendahl Road and Pecos Grilling Co. on Highway 249 both put Gulf shrimp and Cajun-style fish at the center of their menus.

Craft Grill

25219 Kuykendahl Rd, Tomball · typically open daily from 10:30 a.m.

Craft Grill calls its cooking Texas scratch cookin’, and has since 2016, but the seafood section leans hard toward Louisiana. Its Crawfish Redfish is blackened Louisiana redfish under crawfish sauce with smoked gouda cheese grits, and its Shrimp & Grits uses wild-caught jumbo Gulf shrimp in a spicy, dark house-made roux.

What to order: the Crawfish Redfish. Add Jeaux’s Crab Cakes, three wild-caught jumbo lump crab cakes with jalapeño hushpuppies, if you’re sharing.

Why go: it’s the most Louisiana-leaning menu on this list, and the Geaux Tigers! gumbo takes grilled shrimp as an add-on.

Pecos Grilling Co.

28900 State Highway 249, Tomball · typically open daily from 11 a.m.

Pecos Grilling Co. has been a Tomball steakhouse since 2004, and its Fresh Seafood section is the sleeper. The Cajun Catfish is two blackened fillets topped with sausage and crawfish cream sauce, the Almond Crusted Catfish is pan-seared under lemon butter, and the Jumbo Shrimp plate is eight jumbo Gulf shrimp, hand-battered and fried or fire-grilled.

What to order: the Cajun Catfish. At lunch, typically 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a single catfish fillet or four jumbo shrimp come with two sides for less.

Fun detail: the steak list on the menu names its ribeye as AJ Foyt’s favorite steak, so the racing fan in your group has a backup plan.

Where to get ceviche and Mexican seafood in Tomball

Ceviche Ria on Kuykendahl Road is our pick in Tomball for Mexican-style raw and cured seafood.

Ceviche Ria

24910 Kuykendahl Rd, Suite H, Tomball · typically open daily from 11 a.m. or noon, closing around 8 p.m. (6 p.m. Sundays)

Ceviche Ria says every dish is made from scratch to order, and the menu is all bright, cold, citrusy seafood: ceviche, tostadas and aguachile. The Mazatlán Tostada stacks fish ceviche with avocado and shrimp, and the Tamarind Tuna Tostada is the one to photograph.

What to order: for a group of three or four, the Seafood Platter, with fish and shrimp ceviche, shrimp, octopus, red tuna and fish aguachile.

Why go: it’s the lightest seafood meal on this list, and our pick for a hot afternoon. It closes early, so plan lunch or an early dinner.

Best seafood in Old Town Tomball

Old Town’s two most polished restaurants, Bonfire Grill and Graze, both put serious seafood on the plate.

Bonfire Grill

425 West Main St, Old Town Tomball · typically closed Mondays

Bonfire Grill has the longer seafood list of the two Old Town picks. At dinner, look for pan-seared Chilean sea bass, branzino with salsa verde, Shrimp Ravena with Argentine red shrimp over hand-made spaghetti, steamed mussels in a white wine-butter reduction, and grilled Spanish octopus.

What to order: the Crab & Shrimp Fondue with focaccia to share, then the sea bass. At weekend brunch, the Shrimp & Smoked Gouda Grits.

Why go: anniversaries, birthdays, and anyone who wants white-tablecloth fish without driving into Houston.

Graze

208 North Elm St, Old Town Tomball · typically closed Mondays

Graze’s signature seafood dish is its Blackened Shrimp over what the menu calls soft and sexy grits, with sriracha aioli. It’s on the brunch, lunch and dinner menus, and its dinner list adds BBQ salmon and a seasonal Catch of the Evening.

Insider tip: the Blackened Shrimp and the Ahi Tuna Wonton both appear on the bar’s happy-hour Nosh list at about half price, typically Tuesday to Friday, 3 to 5:30 p.m. More deals are in our Tomball happy hour guide.

Where to get fried catfish and shrimp in Tomball

Goodson’s Cafe on Highway 249 is the classic country-cafe answer for fried catfish and butterflied shrimp.

Goodson’s Cafe

27931 State Highway 249, Tomball · typically open daily, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Goodson’s Cafe is a home-cooking cafe on Highway 249, and its seafood list is a proper fish-fry menu: hand-breaded catfish fillets rolled in cornmeal batter, lemon pepper catfish, blackened catfish, golden butterflied shrimp and a catfish-and-shrimp combination platter. The menu notes that seafood can be grilled on request.

What to order: the Combination Platter, so you don’t have to choose.

Good to know: Goodson’s typically closes on Thanksgiving Day and December 24 and 25.

Seafood for breakfast and sushi in Tomball

Sizzle & Brew does Cajun seafood at breakfast, and Yokohamaya and Top Sushi cover raw fish and rolls.

Sizzle & Brew

16949 N. Eldridge Pkwy, Tomball · typically open daily, 7:30 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

Sizzle & Brew is a breakfast and lunch spot with a Cajun streak. The Crab Cake Benedict comes with Cajun hollandaise, the Shrimp & Grits Benedict sets shrimp and andouille on fried grit patties, and lunch brings a fried shrimp po’boy with remoulade.

What to order: the ’Orleans Omelette, filled with shrimp, andouille and cheddar under Cajun hollandaise. More morning picks are in our Tomball brunch guide.

Yokohamaya Japanese Restaurant

14257 FM 2920, Suite 100, Tomball · typically open daily, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Yokohamaya is where Gulf Coast crawfish meets the sushi bar. The Louisiana Roll combines crawfish, cream cheese, avocado and snow crab, tempura-style, and the New Orleans Roll tops crawfish and avocado with spicy tuna and snow crab.

What to order: one Louisiana Roll for the table as a conversation starter, then the Albacore Tuna Tataki.

Top Sushi

24435 Tomball Pkwy, Suite 70, Tomball · typically open daily from 11:30 a.m.

Top Sushi is in the same Tomball Parkway shopping center as Captain Brad’s, and it’s the easy pick when half the group wants raw fish. The menu runs from Truffle Salmon and Salmon Belly to Baked Mussels and Crispy Calamari.

Insider tip: dine-in happy hour typically runs Monday to Saturday, 4 to 7 p.m., and all day Sunday.
