Best Restaurants in Webster, TX: Pappas Row, Flyway and NASA Parkway

Webster is a 6.7-square-mile city with an outsized appetite. Most people know it as the stretch of I-45 where you exit for Space Center Houston, but the restaurants along the Gulf Freeway, NASA Parkway and Bay Area Boulevard feed the whole south end of the Bay Area. You'll find a Brazilian churrascaria on a creekside boardwalk, a Cajun seafood flagship with a boat for a bar, a Salvadoran pupusería that opens at 8 a.m., and brioche donuts good enough to plan a morning around.

Webster fed Texas before NASA ever got here.

In 1903, Seito Saibara and his son Kiyoaki planted rice here with 300 pounds of Shinriki seed brought from Japan. The city's own history says their first crops went mostly out as seed to farmers across Texas and Louisiana. So when you order a plate of étouffée over rice in Webster, you're eating in the town that helped seed the Gulf Coast rice business.

What we mean by Webster

This guide sticks to the City of Webster: places whose own websites give a Webster, TX 77598 address. That covers the Gulf Freeway (I-45) frontage roads, West and East NASA Parkway up to roughly the Space Center side of town, West Bay Area Boulevard, FM 528 and the new Flyway district on Clear Creek. Webster's neighbors blur together on a map, so here's the short version: Clear Lake (part of the City of Houston) sits to the east around NASA's Johnson Space Center, and League City and Friendswood lie to the south and west.

Some restaurants just east on NASA Parkway and on Egret Bay Boulevard use Houston addresses, so we left them for our best restaurants in Clear Lake guide.

How we chose

We started with the City of Webster's own visitor dining directory, which lists more than 100 places to eat. Then we kept only restaurants whose official websites confirmed, in October 2026, that they're open at a Webster address. We favored places that are local, family-run or rooted in the Houston area over national chains. We mixed counter-service cheap eats with sit-down dinners, and we chose dishes from each restaurant's own menu. Nobody paid to be on this list. Hours come from official sites and they change, so check before you go.

Four things even locals don't know

  • There's a Pappas Row. Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse (19901 Gulf Freeway), Pappas Seafood House (19991) and Pappasito's Cantina (20099) sit on the same short run of the I-45 frontage road. You can pick barbecue, Gulf seafood or Tex-Mex without moving your car very far.
  • Webster is one of only two Pappas Seafood House locations. The brand's site lists just Humble and Webster.
  • Floyd's started here. Floyd's Seafood calls its Webster restaurant the flagship and dates it to 2004. The bar is shaped like an old boat.
  • Blackline Coffee & Donuts is open 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day of the year except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day. Its site adds "or the apocalypse."

The sit-down dinners

Pappas Delta Blues Smokehouse

19901 Gulf Freeway · barbecue · sit-down

This is barbecue with a dining room: USDA Prime brisket served on plates, not trays, with a full bar and weekend brunch. Houston's Pappas family runs it, and the restaurant company dates to 1976.

What to order: the Prime brisket combo with Delta pork ribs, then cream corn pudding with jalapeño and the mac and cheese with a buttered cracker crust. Start with the house-smoked boudin.

Good to know: happy hour typically runs 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and brunch runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on weekends. More smoke is in our best BBQ in Houston guide.

Pappas Seafood House

19991 I-45 South · Gulf seafood · sit-down

Pappas Seafood House has been serving Gulf Coast seafood since 1981, and the owners trace the idea back to a long line of Greek fishermen. Webster's location is the one to know if you live south of the Beltway, and it has private dining rooms for birthdays and team dinners.

What to order: Texas redfish Pontchartrain with shrimp and crawfish, or Mississippi catfish Opelousas. If you can't decide, the Pappas Deluxe Platter covers catfish, shrimp, oysters, stuffed crab, crawfish, scallops and soft-shell crab. Finish with key lime pie.

Floyd's Cajun Seafood

20760 Gulf Freeway · Cajun seafood · sit-down

Floyd's opened its Webster flagship in 2004, and it still feels like a party. Head for the boat-shaped bar at happy hour, or grab a patio table when the weather cooperates. The restaurant's annual Parking Lot Party is traditionally held in April.

What to order: fresh-shucked oysters from the oyster bar, a po'boy, and crawfish when they're in season. Steak Night & Wine Wednesday is a regular weekly feature. Plan your crawfish season with our Houston crawfish guide.

Gauchos Do Sul

415 Royal Tern Way, Flyway · Brazilian steakhouse · special occasion

Gauchos Do Sul is a rodízio-style churrascaria. Gauchos carve fire-roasted cuts at your table, and there's a gourmet salad bar of 40-plus items with hot sides. It's the Webster branch of a three-restaurant Houston group, with private rooms for groups up to 120.

What to order: the full dinner, which covers the meats and the salad bar. Pace yourself. A salad-bar-only price is cheaper and is a real option for anyone who isn't there for the beef. Kids under 3 eat free. Check current prices on the official site.

Vida Mariscos

210 Osprey Drive, Flyway · Mexican seafood and sports bar

Vida Mariscos is a family-owned Mexican seafood house in a 13,000-square-foot building on the Gulf Freeway, with a sports bar attached. Bring a group, especially on game day.

What to order: ceviche and seafood tacos, the dishes Vida's own menu leads with.

Escalante's Fine Tex-Mex

1043 W. Bay Area Boulevard · Tex-Mex · sit-down

Escalante's is a Houston Tex-Mex group with seven locations, and its Bay Area restaurant has a Webster address. It's the dependable choice for a Tex-Mex dinner with the in-laws, with party rooms if the group keeps growing. Happy hour typically runs 3 to 6 p.m. on weekdays, and there's a weekend brunch menu. Compare it with the classics in our best Tex-Mex in Houston guide.

Casual and cheap eats

Pupuseria Lucy's

548 W. NASA Parkway · Salvadoran · counter-friendly

Pupuseria Lucy's is the kind of place you find once and keep going back to. It typically serves every day from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and the menu goes well beyond pupusas.

What to order: pupusas, plus bistec encebollado (steak smothered in onions), sopa de gallina india (hen soup) or chile relleno, which the restaurant spotlights on its own site.

Mamacita's Mexican Restaurant

515 E. NASA Parkway · Mexican and Tex-Mex · breakfast to late

Mamacita's has been feeding the Bay Area since 1986. The family's first restaurant, El Jardín, opened in Houston's East End in 1975. The NASA Parkway location typically opens at 8 a.m. daily and has its own breakfast, lunch-special and dinner menus. Come here for a Mexican breakfast on a weekday before work.

Pho Barr Vietnamese Eatery & Drinks

803 E. NASA Parkway, Suite 148 · Vietnamese

Hyde Park Kitchen + Bar

247 E. NASA Parkway · wood-fired pizza, pasta and burgers

Hyde Park keeps the wood-fired oven busy with pizza, pasta and burgers. It's an easy dinner for a mixed group. Order the Bretzel with beer mustard and jalapeño cheddar, the Cheezy Weezy Bread or the wood-fired Brussels sprouts with bacon to share. It typically opens at 11 a.m. daily, and the kitchen closes an hour before the bar. Its sister restaurants next door are Nobi, a Vietnamese-inspired spot at 241 E. NASA Parkway, and The Gelato Spot.

Okii Poke

1416 FM 528, Suite C · Hawaiian-style poke

Okii Poke bills itself as Webster's first poke restaurant. You build a bowl from fresh fish and toppings, and it's a fast, light lunch. It's typically open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Monday to Saturday, and closed Sundays.

Chicken N Pickle

210 Blue Heron Drive, Flyway · American, plus pickleball

Chicken N Pickle is a restaurant and bar with indoor and outdoor pickleball courts, bocce, shuffleboard and live music. It works for families, office outings and anyone who wants dinner with a side of competition. The Sunday brunch buffet typically runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The location is cashless, so bring a card.

Coffee and something sweet

Blackline Coffee & Donuts

203 E. NASA Parkway · coffee and donuts

Two local friends founded Blackline, and its donuts are made from scratch daily with a buttery brioche dough. The coffee comes mainly from Seabrook Coffee Company, a Bay Area roaster. Order the Brown Bear latte and a brioche donut, and if you're gluten-free, the gluten-free banana bread. Small batches sell out, so come early.

Jenny's Delights

100 E. NASA Parkway, Suite 101 · desserts

Jenny's is a small dessert shop that also takes custom orders. Pick up a New York-style cheesecake, tiramisu, a chocolate-dipped cream puff or an éclair for the drive home.
