Best Pizza in Katy, TX: Pizzerias by Style, Dine-In or Delivery

Date Published

Pizza Katy illustration: a pepperoni pie on a peel, deep dish pan and stacked delivery boxes

Katy's pizza scene is bigger than its reputation. Within a few miles of the Grand Parkway you can get a coal-fired New York pie on a lakeside patio, a Detroit-style square with caramelized cheese edges, a Chicago stuffed deep dish that takes 45 minutes to bake, and a Venezuelan pizza pastelito you eat with one hand. Here's the quotable version: in Katy, the question isn't "where's good pizza?" It's "which style, and are we eating there or on the couch?"

This guide answers both. It's organized by style, and every pick is tagged dine-in, pickup or delivery so you can plan a Friday night in about 30 seconds.

What we mean by Katy

Katy is a small city with a very big mailing address. For this guide, Katy means the City of Katy (Old Katy, around Avenue D, Franz Road and Katy City Park) plus the unincorporated neighborhoods that use a Katy address: Cinco Ranch, the Mason Road and Fry Road corridors, the Grand Parkway, Kingsland Boulevard and the Katy Freeway near Katy Mills. Every pick on this list has a Katy, TX address on its official website.

We left out Fulshear, Richmond and Houston's Energy Corridor, even though locals drive between them for dinner. For more on the area, start with our Katy area guide.

The quick list

  • For a sit-down pizza night with a patio: Grimaldi's at LaCenterra.
  • For the crispiest edges in Katy: Sapore Detroit Pizzeria.
  • For a pie that's an event: Fuzzy's Pizza Katy's Chicago stuffed deep dish.
  • For a classic New York slice at lunch: Russo's at Katy Reserve.
  • For a giant pie to feed the team: The Pizza Shoppe's 18-inch WOW.
  • For game night with 25 TVs: Center Court Pizza & Brew.
  • For late-night delivery: Pizza Fino in north Katy.
  • For something your friends haven't tried: Pastel Pizza's pizza pastelitos.

How we chose

We started with the pizzerias Katy families actually argue about, then kept only places with a working official website that lists a Katy location, current hours or ordering, and a clear reason to choose them over the national chains. Every place below was checked on its own site in October 2026. We favored independent and Houston-born pizzerias, and we included a few small local chains when they bring something specific to Katy.

We left out places whose websites had lapsed or no longer showed a restaurant, and a few promising newer spots we couldn't confirm on an official site. Hours change, so treat every schedule here as "typically" and check before you go.

New York style

Grimaldi's Pizzeria (LaCenterra at Cinco Ranch)

Cinco Ranch, 2643 Commercial Center Blvd. · dine-in, patio, bar · delivery through partner apps

Grimaldi's bakes its New York-style pies in a coal brick oven, and the Katy location sits in the heart of LaCenterra with a dining room under chandeliers and a patio overlooking the lake. There's a full bar with wine and beer, so this is the pick when pizza is the whole evening, not a pit stop.

Insider tip: Grimaldi's stokes its coal ovens twice a day, once in the morning and again at 3 p.m., and the Katy location typically sells pizza by the slice only until 3 p.m. Want a quick slice? Go at lunch.

Best for: date night, out-of-town guests, and a walk around LaCenterra after dinner.

Russo's New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen (Katy Reserve)

Cinco Ranch area, 1708 Spring Green Blvd., Suite 180 · dine-in, pickup, delivery

Russo's is a New York-style pizzeria and Italian kitchen built on Chef Anthony Russo's family recipes, and a family promise that dates to 1978: if it isn't fresh, don't serve it. The Katy Reserve location makes its dough fresh daily and its lasagna, gnocchi and sauces in-house. Lunch specials include pizza-by-the-slice combos, which makes it an easy weekday stop.

Good to know: the menu covers gluten-free, vegan and halal options, so it works for a mixed group.

Best for: a weekday slice and a family dinner where everyone eats something different.

DaddyO's Pizza

Katy, 6356 S. Peek Rd. · dine-in, pickup, catering

DaddyO's is a family-owned pizzeria that's been making New York-inspired pies in west Houston since 1995. Its Katy location ferments the dough for 36 hours or more and tops it with hand-shredded whole-milk mozzarella. The specialty pies are named for New York, from the Queens Meat Lovers to the Bronx Bomber, and the room has a modern, industrial feel.

Best for: a casual sit-down pizza dinner, south of the Katy Freeway on Peek Road.

The Pizza Shoppe

Old Katy, 5815 Franz Rd., Suite C · carryout and delivery only · closed Mondays

This locally owned shop near Katy City Park is the anti-fancy pick. It's home of the WOW, an 18-inch pie, and every crust gets buttered. Order the WOW one-topping or the Tiger Paw, add wings, and you've fed a team.

Best for: feeding a crowd after a game at Katy City Park. It's carryout and delivery only, so don't plan to sit down.

Star Pizza #3 (Cinco Ranch)

Cinco Ranch, 24210 Westheimer Pkwy., Suite 100 · dine-in, pickup, delivery

Star Pizza has been a Houston name since 1976, and its third location brings it out to Cinco Ranch. The sauce is made from scratch and the dough is made fresh every day with unbleached flour. Star warns that its pizzas take a little longer to make; the site typically quotes about 30 minutes for pickup and 45 to 60 for delivery.

Insider tip: Thursdays typically bring pasta and wine deals, and birthday club members get a free dessert pizza.

Best for: Inner Loop transplants who miss their Star Pizza.

Detroit style and Chicago deep dish

Sapore Detroit Pizzeria

Kingsland Boulevard, 23445 Kingsland Blvd., Suite 500 · dine-in, pickup, curbside, delivery apps · evenings only, closed Sundays

Sapore calls itself Katy's original Detroit-style pizza, and it does the style the classic way: thick, airy square pies with crispy, caramelized cheese edges. The kitchen says it's seed-oil free, and the menu also runs to wings, Italian beef sandwiches and cannoli. It's typically open from 4 to 10 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Insider tip: Sapore itself recommends ordering online for pickup because the phone gets busy. Order ahead and you skip the wait.

Best for: anyone who thinks the corner piece is the best piece.

Fuzzy's Pizza Katy

Mason Road, 613-B S. Mason Rd. · dine-in, phone pickup, delivery · closed Mondays

Fuzzy's Pizza Katy has been serving Katy since 1995, and it's the place for Chicago stuffed deep dish. Each pie is built with pounds of mozzarella, and the restaurant notes that the deep dish is available only at this Katy location. It is not affiliated with other Fuzzy's restaurants in Houston.

Insider tip: the deep dish can take 45 minutes or more to bake. Call it in before you leave the house, or settle in at a table and order an appetizer.

Best for: a cheese-pull moment worth posting.

Delivery and game-night workhorses

Pizza Fino (North Katy)

North Katy, 2020 Katy Hockley Cut Off Rd. · delivery and carryout · open late

Pizza Fino is a local chain that dates to 1992, and its Katy store keeps late hours for delivery: typically until 10 p.m. most nights and 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. It also runs a separate vegetarian menu.

Best for: a late delivery order when everything else has closed.

Pepperoni's Pizza

Two Katy stores: 1230 N. Mason Rd. and Firethorne, 2731 FM 1463 · pickup and delivery

Pepperoni's is a New York-style pizza chain, with more than 20 locations, whose founder's family opened the first store in 1990. Its founder works with a California tomato grower on the sauce tomatoes, and the dough uses unbleached, unbromated flour. Gluten-free and vegan options are on the menu, and the rewards program earns free food.

Best for: dependable delivery to north Katy and the FM 1463 side of town.

Center Court Pizza & Brew (Cinco Ranch)

Cinco Ranch, 9550 Spring Green Blvd., Suite 400 · dine-in, bar, delivery

Center Court calls itself Cinco Ranch's game day headquarters: 25 TVs, a fully stocked bar with local beers and a pizza menu with Monday specials. Delivery runs through its own ordering site as well as the major apps.

Best for: watching the Astros or the Texans with a pie on the table.

The wild card

Pastel Pizza

Mason Road, Katy · pickup and delivery apps

Pastel Pizza is a Venezuelan kitchen that began in Katy in 2016, selling tequeños to order from an apartment before growing into stores and a food truck. The pick here is the pizza pastelito: a Venezuelan pastelito, the crisp hand pie, made with pizza fillings like pepperoni or ham. Order tequeños, the cheese sticks wrapped in dough, on the side. It's not a pie, and that's the point.

Best for: the friend who says they've tried every pizza in Katy.

Dine-in or delivery? A quick sort

  • Best sit-down meal: Grimaldi's, DaddyO's, Russo's, Star Pizza.
  • Best with a game on: Center Court.
  • Carryout or delivery only: The Pizza Shoppe.
  • Best for ordering ahead: Sapore (online pickup) and Fuzzy's deep dish (45-minute bake).
  • Late delivery: Pizza Fino.

Ordering direct from a pizzeria's own website usually avoids third-party app fees, and several places on this list, including Russo's and Star Pizza, ask you to do exactly that.

Save this: a Katy pizza crawl in four styles

Do this with friends and split everything. It covers four styles in one Saturday.

  1. Lunch, New York slice: Russo's at Katy Reserve, or Grimaldi's before 3 p.m. for slices.
  2. Afternoon, Venezuelan snack: pizza pastelitos from Pastel Pizza on Mason Road.
  3. Early dinner, Detroit square: Sapore on Kingsland once it opens at 4 p.m.
  4. Late dinner, Chicago deep dish: call Fuzzy's 45 minutes ahead, then grab a table.

Then pair it with a beer at No Label Brewing in Old Katy, which you'll find in our best breweries in Houston guide.

Before you go: a quick checklist

  • Check hours on the pizzeria's own site the day you go. Several places on this list close Mondays, and Sapore closes Sundays.
  • Ordering a deep dish? Budget 45 minutes or more.
  • Feeding a team? The Pizza Shoppe's 18-inch WOW is built for it.
  • Need gluten-free or vegan? Russo's and Pepperoni's list options; Sapore also offers gluten-free pizza.
  • Order direct when you can, to skip app fees.
