Best Pizza in Friendswood, TX: Pizzerias by Style, Dine-In or Delivery

Date Published

Best pizza Friendswood illustration: pizza peel, coal oven glow and Houston skyline at night

The best pizza in Friendswood, Texas, comes in four styles. For a coal-fired New York pie, go to Grimaldi’s Pizzeria at Baybrook Mall. For a family Italian kitchen, Stefano’s Pizza & Italian Kitchen has been making pizza in Friendswood since 1994, and Sofia’s Italiano sits on the corner of FM 518 and FM 528. For pizza with a local beer, Center Court Pizza & Brew is on West Parkwood Avenue, and for late-night delivery, Marco’s, Domino’s and Papa Johns all stay open past 11 p.m. on weekends.

Here’s the fun part. According to the Texas State Historical Association, Friendswood was founded by Quaker families in the 1890s and on April 8, 1963, became the only dry town in the county. Today you can order a pint of local craft beer with your pepperoni on West Parkwood Avenue.

The quotable version: in Friendswood, pizza night is a question of which road. Almost everything worth ordering sits on Parkwood Avenue, South Friendswood Drive or out at Baybrook.

What counts as Friendswood?

For this guide, Friendswood means a pizzeria with a Friendswood, TX 77546 address on its own official website. Most picks are in town along FM 528 (Parkwood Avenue) and FM 518 (South Friendswood Drive), the two roads that cross in the middle of Friendswood.

One honest caveat: Baybrook Mall on I-45 has a Friendswood mailing address, but it physically sits inside Houston’s city limits. We include Grimaldi’s there because locals treat Baybrook as part of Friendswood, and we label it clearly. We left out pizzerias with Pearland, Webster, League City and Houston addresses, even the ones a short drive away. For more on the city itself, see our Friendswood area guide.

The quick list

  • For a coal-fired, New York-style pie: Grimaldi’s Pizzeria at Baybrook Mall.
  • For the Friendswood original: Stefano’s Pizza & Italian Kitchen, open since 1994.
  • For pizza that isn’t really Italian at all: Stefano’s Mexicana, built on refried beans with no red sauce.
  • For pizza and a pint during the game: Center Court Pizza & Brew.
  • For a sit-down Italian dinner where pizza is one option: Sofia’s Italiano.
  • For delivery after 11 p.m. on a Friday: Marco’s, Domino’s or Papa Johns.

How we chose

We kept only pizzerias that show a Friendswood location on their own official website, with an address plus current hours, a menu or online ordering. Every pick below was checked that way in November 2026. We favored local and family-run kitchens, and we included a few national chains only where they fill a real need, like late-night delivery.

Hours change, so treat every schedule here as “typically” and check the official site before you go.

Coal-fired New York style

Grimaldi’s Pizzeria (Baybrook Mall)

Baybrook Mall, 700 Baybrook Mall, Suite 117 · dine-in, patio, online ordering

Grimaldi’s at Baybrook Mall is the only coal-fired brick-oven pizza in the Friendswood area that we found. The brand traces its pizza-making to the Brooklyn tradition and its first restaurant under the Brooklyn Bridge, and the dough is hand-tossed and made in-house daily. The restaurant sits just outside Dillard’s east doors, with a patio facing the mall’s water fountain and its light and water shows.

I didn’t know that: Grimaldi’s says it stokes its coal ovens twice a day, once in the morning and again at 3 p.m. Slices are typically sold only until 3 p.m., so come for lunch if you want a single slice instead of a whole pie.

What to order: the Brooklyn Bridge, with roasted red peppers, ricotta and hand-pinched Italian sausage, or the Traditional with fresh mozzarella and basil.

Good to know: it’s typically open 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Gluten-free and cauliflower crusts come in a 12-inch size, but Grimaldi’s says they are made in a shared kitchen and does not recommend them for guests with celiac disease. Group dining needs at least eight guests and 72 hours’ notice.

Family Italian kitchens

Stefano’s Pizza & Italian Kitchen

Hope Village Road, 15825 Hope Village Rd · dine-in, takeout, delivery, catering

Stefano’s Pizza & Italian Kitchen is a family-owned Friendswood restaurant that has been serving Italian food and gourmet pizza since 1994. Pizzas come in four sizes, from small to extra large, and calzones and strombolis come in the same four sizes.

What to order: the Mexicana, the most Friendswood pizza on this list: refried beans, cheddar and mozzarella, tomato, hamburger and jalapeño, with no red sauce. If you want something more classic, the Caprina pairs olive oil, garlic, feta and spinach, and the Bianco skips tomato sauce for olive oil, garlic and oregano.

Good to know: Stefano’s is typically closed Mondays, opens at 3 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, and opens at 11 a.m. on weekends. Use the address on its website; some map listings still show an older South Friendswood Drive address.

Sofia’s Italiano

Downtown Friendswood, 129 W Parkwood Ave, at FM 518 and FM 528 · dine-in, takeout, catering, reservations

Sofia’s Italiano opened in May 2012 and describes its cooking as Italian cuisine with French and Sicilian styles, from an open kitchen. Pizza isn’t the headline here, pasta, steaks and fish are, but Sofia’s makes pizza for two and a party pizza for crowds.

Insider tip: for a birthday or a team party, Sofia’s catering menu lists a party pizza that feeds up to 10 people. Call and ask for the catering manager.

Good to know: it’s typically open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and it offers gluten-free pasta. Sofia’s takes reservations through OpenTable, which we’d use for a Friday or Saturday.

Pizza and a pint

Center Court Pizza & Brew

West Parkwood, 2111 W Parkwood Ave, Suite 117 · dine-in, bar, takeout, delivery, catering

Center Court Pizza & Brew started in Pearland in June 2006 and calls itself a home for great food, local beers and sports. Its pizzas are made on scratch-made dough, and the specialty pies have game-day names. This is the Friendswood pick for watching a game with a pizza in front of you.

What to order: the Free Throw (pepperoni, sausage, onion, mushroom and green pepper), or the Carnivore if your table wants pepperoni, ham, sausage, bacon and beef on one pie. The Margarita, with fresh basil, tomato and garlic butter, is the lighter option.

Good to know: Center Court delivers through its own online ordering and through delivery apps. For the full origin story, see our best pizza in Pearland guide.

Dine-in or delivery? A cheat sheet

Go there and sit down: Grimaldi’s, Stefano’s, Sofia’s and Center Court. Coal-fired crust is best in the first five minutes.

Stay home and order: Stefano’s and Center Court both deliver, and Marco’s, Domino’s, Papa Johns and Pizza Hut are built for it.

Feeding a team or a classroom: Stefano’s, Sofia’s and Center Court all list catering on their sites, and Grimaldi’s takes group bookings of eight or more.

Save this: the Parkwood Avenue pizza line

Four of the pizza stops on this list sit on one road, Parkwood Avenue (FM 528). Here they are from west to east, so you can find yours.

  1. Center Court Pizza & Brew, 2111 W Parkwood Ave: pizza, local beer and the game on.
  2. Sofia’s Italiano, 129 W Parkwood Ave: date night, right on the corner of FM 518.
  3. Pizza Hut, 108 W Parkwood Ave: the quick carryout.
  4. Papa Johns, 210 E Parkwood Ave: delivery after midnight.

Off Parkwood, add Stefano’s on Hope Village Road, Marco’s on South Friendswood Drive and Grimaldi’s at Baybrook.

Before you go: a quick checklist

  • Check hours on the pizzeria’s own site the day you go, especially Mondays, when Stefano’s is closed.
  • Want a single slice at Grimaldi’s? Get there before 3 p.m.
  • Need gluten-free? Grimaldi’s has gluten-free and cauliflower crusts in 12-inch only, and warns they aren’t for guests with celiac disease. Sofia’s offers gluten-free pasta.
  • Big party? Sofia’s party pizza feeds up to 10, and Grimaldi’s needs 72 hours’ notice for groups of eight or more.
  • Ordering delivery? Order direct from the pizzeria’s own site when you can.
