The only redeeming quality of this hotel was the nice young man at the front desk who worked the night shift as we were checking in. He was kind and courteous. He even gave us recommendations for restaurants when he overheard us discussing dinner plans in the lobby. I traveled to Houston for business with a group of colleagues. Each of our rooms were dirty. One of my colleagues could not use the shower because it was clogged with hair. Mine was clogged as well and slow to drain. The rooms smelled moldy. All of our clothes smelled like mold after we left. There were several families staying there who were in town for a cheerleading competition. One family told us that they were given a room with one bed for a family of four - despite reserving two queen beds. There was a young Hispanic woman who worked on mornings. The guy who worked at nights warned us that she would not be friendly - She was not! When we went to the front desk to ask for assistance, she snapped at us and questioned our intelligence. She was unkind and seemed volatile. Weeks later, when I called to aske for my receipt to be emailed to me, the young woman on the phone was incredibly rude. I would not be surprised if it were the same young lady that we dealt with in person.

Absolutely horrific customer service. Despite the booking and billing all being under my name they refused to allow me to check in because I used an immediate family member's rewards points for $20 off the stay and they weren't physically present. Refused to work with me whatsoever. Told me my only option was to cancel the stay through the 3rd party rewards site (its nonrefundable, and also not my account - ((im just the person paying for and staying at the hotel.)) They refused to offer an alternative booking. Just flat-out refused to offer any kind of solution to the issue at all. I will never stay at a franchise sharing this name after tonight. Disgraceful. To top it all off... I was charged 3 times for the one room they didn't let me check into. Now I have to go dispute charges. What kind of business are they running here? Front desk is apparently unable to cancel reservations or even do literally anything at all besides check ID's. At least that's what the staff member told me. Not sure why you have an employee at that point. Just throw up a tablet that shows customers the middle finger. Same effect acheived.

Checking in, coming to desk to get help, Checking out was difficult when you had to wait for someone to come to the desk; even with a bell to ding for assistance. The 1st room had long hair on each bed and in the bathroom, several noticeable smudges of dirt or such on bedding, and a dead bug on bed (possible tiny centipede / inch worm). I thought all Choice Brand hotels were required to provide coffee and water for guests, but apparently, this location only sells it to you. I know that different hotels have different requirements, however, having different requirements for the same types of reservations seemed disrespectful. In my case: My friend makes the reservation on the app, using her points for both of us. When we arrive, they refuse to use my ID and credit card for incidental or to check in. The next guests husband made the reservation the same way. They insisted on his ID, which he was not present to give, but the wife had his VA ID to present; and she was allowed to use her Credit card for incidental. It was to my understanding that Choice allows members to use their points to get rooms for others if they desire, but when using the app, there's no place to put that information in when making the reservation. And, legally, you really don't need it, as long as you have the reservation information; or so this has been my experience for the past 15 years of being a member. Note, there's no such thing as getting a room on the top floor to avoid noise. You can hear people walking down the hall, room and stair doors shutting, and please don't put children on top floor to run the halls all night!!!!

I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk at Sleep Inn & Suites near downtown on 1/23/26 around 12:00 PM. While I was still an active guest, I contacted the front desk for assistance and was met with nothing but rudeness, condescension, and complete lack of professionalism. The front desk worker was extremely unhelpful, spoke to me in a dismissive tone, and hung up on me multiple times instead of attempting to resolve the issue or even listen. When I called back seeking clarification or help, she refused to assist me at all, despite the fact that I was still staying at the hotel. This behavior is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one that claims to offer customer service and hospitality. Being treated this way as a paying guest was frustrating and disappointing. Front desk staff are supposed to help guests—not belittle them or avoid doing their job. I would strongly reconsider staying here if you value basic respect and professional customer

I was charged additional nights that I did not stay and when requesting to talk to a manager in the phone I was hung up on without a response when I mentioned a manager. In addition to this my room also had carpet stains and a live spider.
