Value Place La Porte

It's Saturday September 27, 25 and it's day 3 without a working toilet. They seem to be having an issue with the maintenance guy not showing up. They are hoping he comes in on Monday which will make it day 5 without a toilet. As a former Hotel manager in Reno Nevada for 12years I find this extremely unacceptable. How does this maintenance guy still have a job? Why are there no on call maintenance services. Even a simple handyman from Angie's list would be an acceptable backup plan. But since there is no back up plan the staff should be able to call a plumber. A guest going 5 days without a working toilet while you still fully charging them is so unprofessional. I have also been waiting 6 days for 2 triple A batteries for the TV remote although that doesn't seem important compared to the non working toilet. I think Eddie Mijares needs to be on site more to make sure the property is properly staffed and the staff has access to everything they need to accommodate the guest.

Made the reservation 3 days before checking in , asked the clerk if the hotel had an elevator. Her reply was yes, checking in the guy at the counter swiped my card to pay. Then when I asked for a luggage dolly he says the elevator doesn’t work!! I honestly believe it was on purpose. The elevator was out when I made the reservation but the lady didn’t tell me that! Poor customer service! Poor cleaning, cob webs in the room. I won’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend this establishment to anyone else either!

The place is horrible. The room is there’s roaches in the bathrooms. They may leave dirty and old soap in the bathroom the place smell horrible roaches, crawling in the bathtub roaches crawling around the sink not a good place to stay.

We arrived at the hotel at 9pm and a guest was at the front desk checking out. I briefly wondered why they would be leaving right after arriving. We got our keys. 1. The elevator was out of service so we had to carry our luggage up to our floor. 2. Upon entering the room, I was greeted by a large roach. 3. The bathroom towels had yellow stains. 4. The bed was without a comforter. It only had a couple of thin sheets. 5. There were random stains throughout the room: on the walls, on the bathroom sink, on the shower. 6. We blasted the AC because it was a hot day and we could hear a dripping sound all night. 7. The room has no lamps, no central air, no pots and pans in the kitchenette. Too tired to find another hotel, we put our belongings in garbage bags so that roaches wouldn’t crawl in them. The room is non refundable if booked through any site except the hotel site. There is no night auditor on duty. If you need anything after 10pm, you have to call a number listed at the front desk.

Nice big parking lot... a 10-wheeled commercial tractor could easily fit... just take side street/Avoid Fairmont entrance: my uneducated opinion.
