We have been staying at the Westin while my mother-in-law is in the hospital in Houston, and this hotel has truly been a blessing for our family during a very difficult time. The staff has been incredibly compassionate and accommodating, especially when we needed to extend our reservations unexpectedly. They made the process seamless and stress-free. The skybridge connecting the hotel directly to the hospital has been unbelievably convenient, particularly for family members traveling alone or going back and forth throughout the day. It provided comfort and ease when we needed it most. Every member of the hotel team has gone above and beyond to support us and make this challenging situation a little less overwhelming. We are so grateful for their kindness, professionalism, and genuine care. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone needing a comfortable and supportive place to stay, especially if you have loved ones at the hospital nearby.

I stay at the Westin frequently for work, as my company regularly books rooms here. During checkout, I needed an itemized receipt, which I’ve always been able to receive in the past. I was directed to Terrace 54 and initially assisted by a very polite staff member. Unfortunately, the hostess, Paola, was extremely rude and dismissive. She first stated they did not provide itemized receipts, then said it was too busy to help, speaking in a passive and condescending tone. While addressing me, she attempted to seat other guests behind me and was visibly impatient. When I asked for clarification, she responded with, “If you would let me finish,” which felt unnecessarily disrespectful. Thankfully, a manager was able to assist me and resolve the issue. However, Paola would benefit from additional customer service training, especially in a hospitality environment where professionalism and courtesy are expected.

Had to switch room 3 times to get one with a working bath tub. The final room I ended up in met the expectations I have for a 4 star hotel. The staff here is phenomenal and saved my stay. The young man at the lobby desk around 9:30-10:30 pm on 12/02 was extremely helpful and friendly. Parking is $52 and I wasn’t made aware until after I booked the room. I will stay at an Airbnb with reserved parking next time as this feels highly predatory for those staying due to medical issues such as myself. However, the valet are paid a livable wage which made the cost more palatable.

What ruined the stay was that there was a fire alarm test that occurred at 9AM and lasted for 30 minutes. It was obnoxiously loud and extremely inconvenient when most who stay at a hotel are traveling, or depending on peace and quiet to do remote work and also try to be well rested for travel. It seemed very poorly planned and inconvenient. I understand things happen but this couldn’t have been at a more inappropriate time.

Valet employees were friendly and helpful. The elevators are cool because you press which floor you want on the outside, not just an up or down button. And they are so fast! The price for our two Chihuahuas to stay with us was $50. There is a parking lot and neighborhood one block over where you may walk them. Speaking of walking, there are plenty of eateries nearby that you can walk to. Our room on the 11th floor was quiet. I never heard nor saw any other guests. The gym was superb and amply stocked with all kinds of modern, well-maintained equipment. This gym and the one at the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas are the best I have ever seen for a hotel.
