Awesome stay at the Stay Alfred on San Jacinto Street. The lobby and rooms were very clean. Others within the building were friendly. The rooms are very spacious - bedrooms, kitchen, living room, bathrooms. The building is well placed being just outside the heart of the city. Many food options and bar options on the outskirts. Downtown Houston was a short 15min walk - very manageable and pretty much a straight line. Overall this is a great option if you are looking for more living space and willing to sacrifice being in the heart of the city. Will be back.

This place should be five stars beautiful. But good grief, TV in living doesn't work, water in master bath for split tub and shower wasn't even hooked up. Had to turn on ice maker. Key fobs weren't working when we arrived. Very frustrating experience after several calls in trying to get to our room since fobs didn't work. We fixed ourselves plus directions don't tell you black fob with green buttons work entry to elevators and lobby door. Grey fob only your apartment. Each call for new work orders and no offer to accommodate frustration. Stay in Fort Worth was much more pleasant. Really dissatisfied with the 450 we spent

Aside from the confusing key pick up/drop off, we had a great stay at the downtown Houston location (Carolina/Jefferson). Very convenient location near the metro station, making it easy to get on a train, 4-stops from the museum district and scenic parks. Also, convenient were the several decent nearby (walkable) restaurants. If given the choice again between a hotel, or Stay-Alfred my family unanimously voted on Stay Alfred!! :~)

Stayed in condo #824, 2BR, 2BA. Would have given 5 stars except for the inconvenience of only having one set of keys. Four adults are not always going to go everywhere together for six days. Stay Alfred responded that because it is a residential building they can only offer one set of keys. UNACCEPTABLE! Find a way! Note that the refrigerator filter indicates it is 99+ days overdue for a new filter. This is the ice we are consuming! The condo was clean, spacious and comfortable, but could use a little more eating utensils, such as some small spoons and more than four bowls. There is a light out over the island. Suggestion: the master bath would benefit from at least one towel bar and a couple of hooks. Had to hang towels in the walk in closet.

Very nice rooms and balcony view with a full kitchen. However not good customer service at all. The key machine does not work to return your keys and the employees there do not work for stay Alfred and have no desire to help. Had a long hassle checking in and out of the place. Very disorganized...! Turns out that the keys are supposed to have a chip on them to return it. Whoever makes the keys forgets the chip and just puts it in there. Many other customers around had the same exact problem. This a reoccurrent issue. I do not recommend this place at all. Also.... you get absolutely no refund on the room even if you can never retrieve the key to stay in your room due to the technology issue and disorganization of the company. We are lucky we even got it to work or we would have been jipped out of $190. This is insane. So many better places to go that would have a nice room and nice service with organization. Even in the room they provide a coffee pot and coffee but no filter to make the coffee. And we go down to ask for coffee filters and they have none. Very lousy customer service. Also the tv does not work at all. And after you check out is when you find out for the first time that there is a $120 cleaning room fee. This is not explained to you ahead of time. Feels like we were scammed.
