I had a very disappointing experience with the front desk at Sleep Inn & Suites near downtown on 1/23/26 around 12:00 PM. While I was still an active guest, I contacted the front desk for assistance and was met with nothing but rudeness, condescension, and complete lack of professionalism. The front desk worker was extremely unhelpful, spoke to me in a dismissive tone, and hung up on me multiple times instead of attempting to resolve the issue or even listen. When I called back seeking clarification or help, she refused to assist me at all, despite the fact that I was still staying at the hotel. This behavior is unacceptable for any hotel, especially one that claims to offer customer service and hospitality. Being treated this way as a paying guest was frustrating and disappointing. Front desk staff are supposed to help guests—not belittle them or avoid doing their job. I would strongly reconsider staying here if you value basic respect and professional customer

The good part, my room was clean and the front desk personnel were courteous. The horrible part, my vehicle was broken into during the night of Sept 30-Oct 1st of this year while parked right next to the lobby door, in a well lit parking lot with visible surveillance cameras everywhere. I reported the break-in to the Houston Police Dept and asked the front desk clerk if the surveillance video could be turned over to HPD. I was advised that only the hotel owner could access the video and that he was not available but that they would forward a message to him. For the next three weeks I called every day to inquire about this request and was repeatedly told that the owner, Mr. Patel, was not available but that they would once again send him a message. I also tried emailing Mr. Patel at two different email addresses with no reply. I also contacted Choice Hotels corporate office to have a message forwarded to him but still no reply. As of this date, HPD has still not received a copy of the parking lot video, if one even exists, and I have yet to hear from the owner or any property manager about my break-in. The owner of this property obviously has no concern for the safety and security of the guests so I would strongly suggest avoiding this unsafe and dangerous location if staying in Houston.

couldn’t even get to my room because the lady at the front desk cancelled our reservation before we could even walk through the doors. check in wasn’t for another 25 minutes and my mother went inside to ask if we could just do it a little early, and that’s when she mentioned a deposit being needed which wasn’t said anywhere when we booked the hotel. the lady then proceeded to angrily tell my mom that all hotels need a credential deposit and we wouldn’t be able to find anywhere that doesn’t need one. I have stayed at dozens of hotels this year and I can tell you that is absolutely not true. the lady at the front desk then proceeded to tell us she will just cancel the reservation since it’s going to be a problem (it wasn’t a problem, unexpected $100 deposits just suck.) I was getting my card ready to pay the deposit and as we walked back in to pay for it, the lady at the front desk refused to let us stay. this is the worst service I have experienced and I would be terminated from my job if I acted that way towards a customer. I don’t even know if I’m being refunded because she just made us leave

You can't check in until exactly 3pm. Fine, that's policy. Keep in mind though, you'll be around not the best customer base. Location is great. Came here for bike trails. Breakfast is incomplete. They start cleaning up an hour before closing and don't serve anything new. You try to ask if they are bringing out more, and they don't speak English. If I'm paying 3 star pricing for a 1 star hotel, you could at least have breakfast right.

Terrible service. Front desk staff don’t care about any issues you experience during the stay. Rooms smell like mold. Unsafe location. Breakfast is a joke. Find somewhere else to stay.
