I was very impressed on how clean the room is and the outside as well. Management is extremely nice and took care of all my needs. I felt really safe here and the prices are very reasonable. Will stay here again. Restroom and beds are really clean and I stayed here with my spouse and two children

My girlfriend got sick with food poisoning and threw up on the floor shortly after check-in. I cleaned the best I could with towels and went to the desk to ask for housekeeping to get some fresh towels and mop up. I was told by the front desk guy I'd have to wait until 7pm (it was 5:55) for the maid to come on duty, and that he'd send her straight to our room. By 7:15 nobody had come so I went back to the front desk. Turns out the guy who I had spoken to clocked out at 6:30 and never told housekeeping anything. He straight up just lied to my face. The night shift guy was extremely rude and told me I'd have to "wait my turn" for housekeeping, who had started at the other end of the hotel. I told him this was unacceptable and I need the room looked at now because my girlfriend and I didn't want to have to smell vomit for any longer (at this point it was over 1.5 hours since I initially asked for service). The night shift guy said that was my problem, and had the gall to suggest my girlfriend (who was absolutely miserable in bed with FOOD POISONING) and I could go wait in our car if the smell was so bad. I have never, ever been so disrespected by a hospitality employee. The maid was extremely kind, however. The hotel itself is actually nice too, beds are comfy and it's very clean inside and out. Too bad the desk staff is so lazy and disrespectful. BTW Palace Inn itself has no customer service number and the email system on their website doesn't work. If my girlfriend wasn't so sick she couldn't walk to the door we would've checked out and driven back to San Antonio tonight. Guess I'll be contacting my bank tomorrow morning to reverse the charges. EDIT: Note that I mentioned there was no phone number or email to get a hold of these people yet the (likely AI-generated) response offered me no way to actually contact someone, instead giving me a big "sowwy! 🤷♂️" and a vague promise of a talking-to for the boneheads who made an already-ruined vacation worse. If this company cared they would actually try to make this right.

The location may not be the best but Room was beautiful. I guess they are renewed bc everything was new and shiny. Nice details with comp lotions and toothbrush kit. But grumpy the night receptionist needs some customer communication lessons bc he was behaving like hes doing a favor to you by selling the room. Other than that nice and clean room

This hotel is a hidden gem. Beds were amazing and the rooms are so clean and large. Don't let the area fool you. We'll lit and quite.

Great place to stay in Houston. Customer service is great, rooms are clean, restrooms are very spacious. They have a nice microwave, iron and small fridge in every room. They also offer light breakfast (cereal, milk, coffee and orange juice).
