My fiancé and I stayed here for 9 days, and unfortunately, our experience was very upsetting. Management unexpectedly knocked on our door and told us we had to leave. By the time I went to the front desk to ask what was going on, the police had already been called. As a young Black couple, this was extremely stressful and felt unnecessary. Throughout our stay, I felt singled out and nitpicked by a manager whose behavior toward us felt very different from what I saw toward other guests. It made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. When the police arrived, they reviewed everything and said I was allowed to stay because my reservation was prepaid and I had not violated any rules. Overall, the staff interactions were unfriendly, and the environment did not feel inclusive or welcoming. This was one of the most unpleasant hotel stays I’ve had, and based on my experience, I would not stay here again.

The only redeeming quality this place has is that the bbq place across the street had good food. Never book third party because they will pull a bait and switch on you saying that the room you booked isn’t available and they can’t do anything about it because you booked third party. Will never book with La Quinta as a brand ever again.

The manager showed a clear lack of professionalism and customer service. There was no proper greeting at check-in, no effort to make guests feel welcomed, and overall a very nonchalant attitude. I called about a sheet issue in my room and was told to come to the lobby to get extras — which was fine. But when I arrived just moments later, no one was there to assist. After waiting, the manager appeared and handed me some old sheets with zero courtesy. It felt like I was inconveniencing him by asking for something basic. If you’re in a role that involves customer care, act like it — or consider a different position. The room itself was decent, though the walls are thin and you can hear quite a bit. The elevators could use maintenance, and the lobby had a strange smell that lingered. I’m not expecting a five-star experience at this price point — but I do expect basic respect, cleanliness, and a welcoming environment. La Quinta can absolutely do better.

Dear Management, I am writing to express my concerns regarding my recent visit at La Quintana, located at 930 Normandy Street, Houston, Texas. During my visit to see my mother-in-law, I encountered several issues that I feel need immediate attention. Upon arrival, there was no staff to greet guests, which was disappointing. Additionally, the lobby had a strong smell of mildew that was so overpowering it made me feel nauseous. The elevators were not functioning properly, which caused considerable inconvenience. It is evident that the hotel would benefit from significant remodeling to improve its facilities. Moreover, the policy of charging a $30 fee for early check-in, even if it is just a minute before the designated time, seems entirely unreasonable. This adds unnecessary stress to guests already dealing with travel-related fatigue. It has come to my attention that there have been reports of car break-ins, despite the hotel’s gated parking area. The fact that the gate allows easy entry but requires a code for exit is quite baffling and compromises the security of the premises. While the pricing of the hotel is competitive, it appears to attract the wrong crowd, which further detracts from the overall experience. Given these concerns, I would recommend exploring other accommodation options until these issues are addressed. Thank you for your attention to this matter!! PICK another HOTEL!!
