La Quinta Inn & Suites Houston Kingwood Medical

I chose this hotel based off of other reviews and the location in which I needed to be, however, I was not impressed. A strong musty smell greets you as you enter the hotel and into the hallways. The lobby appears to be under construction but I’m not sure if it actually is or if it’s just slapped together. We had a family suite for 3 nights. The toilet ran nonstop unless we manually lifted the cover and pushed the flapper down with each flush. We were given 2 washcloths and 4 towels for 5 people. We tried to get additional and were told we must turn in the dirty ones before getting new (physically counting each scratchy cloth in front of us). So, with each person that showered, we had to run around getting towels even though my reservation stated we had 5 people. The beds were like springy, squeaky diving boards. Each bed had nothing more than a sheet on it. We asked for blankets (for 3 beds) and were given 3 blankets that were slightly thicker than the sheet on the bed. Weed wackers were outside the window by 8am. One positive of our room was the AC worked, however, another person we traveled with had a room that it did not. Definitely not a comfortable stay for the $500 I paid for 3 nights. We will not return or recommend to others. The focus appears to be obnoxiously large TVs in each room which were lining the halls waiting to be installed. Our room had 3 65” TVs in it. They were far too large and in the way of doors opening. Ridiculous.

Totally awesome!!! Our room was large and they let us check in early. The only negative was that the WiFi didn’t work. I have AT&T and even had difficulty getting good cell coverage there (4 star only because of poor WiFi). The hotel had a nice breakfast, and hot water and coffee in the lobby 24 hrs/day. The front desk staff were helpful and courteous. Great location. Super close to grocery, movie theater, restaurants and even a laundry. Ask for a room towards the back to avoid freeway noise. Best part: the indoor jacuzzi was HOT. Felt so good and the pool was heated too. Both very clean. This was great because it rained most of our visit so we could not use the outdoor pool but we’re glad they had one indoor also. We also used the gym. Small but really nice machines (elliptical and treadmills).

Got a room here for new years so that my boys could swim, thought it would be fun… As soon as we opened the door to our room this awful smell hit us in the face. It was so intense that we decided to prop the door open and leave for awhile to try and air it out. It did not work. We went to the pool, its indoor surrounded by tile, my son slipped and fell about 6 times before I finally was just over it. We ended up staying at a friends place that night and only came back to check out. Do not recommend and there is no playground.

Jacqueline was an excellent hostess last night and this morning! She gave me options for upstairs or downstairs. When I let her decide, she chose the quietest room. It was so peaceful, comfortable, and just what I needed after a long Christmas holiday. Thank you La Quinta for hiring staff like Jacqueline, and thank you Jacqueline for your excellent service!! My family will be staying here again and again.

Sanchex went out of his way to help my husband get his door dash delivery when it was delivered to the wrong hotel (at La Quinta kingwood). My husband had been working 15 hours that day and was exhausted. He wasn't even staying there but drove there because that's where the delivery driver left it. Sanchex was so kind and understanding and ran straight up to the second floor to retrieve the missing food. Thank you for going above and beyond Sanchex!
