La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham Houston Spring South

I stayed here for 2 days and nights for work. Check in was fast and smooth. Clerk behind front desk was polite. Room I stayed in was clean. Bathroom was well stocked with towels and other hygiene products (soaps, shampoo and moisturizer). Room was surprisingly very spacious. Had a separate seating area to relax in. My room also had a sofa bed. Didn't need to use it but was nice to know it was there. Furniture was slightly outdated but definitely functional and clean. The bed I slept on was a bit to soft for my liking. Linens were clean. For the most part room was quiet. Occasionally I would here the television on in room next to me but it was tolerable. They do have breakfast in morning down in main lobby area. Surprisingly a decent selection. I had scrambled eggs and sausage with toast and of course coffee. They also had a waffle maker on hand and varieties of fruits, yogurt, juices and cereal. Overall I enjoyed my stay here.

The hotel sign says now open but it’s been open since 2019 the guy at the desk said. When we check in on 2-13-26 I done the pre check in the day before because we was in town for a wedding and I was still at the front desk checking in about 15 minutes. And I ask for a suite upgrade because I’m a Diamond member and he said I don’t have any. Then I ask for a room on the parking lot side he said I don’t have any. I said ok just give me a room I got to go meet my family for dinner. He gave my room keys room 211 got up there and there was NO TV ( not a television in the room it was GONE) went back down and told him,my husband said how do you rent that room without a tv and didn’t not reply at all.and we there another 5 mins getting another room and he didn’t not say sorry or anything. Came out the next morning going down to the office and the smell of weed was so strong it was disgusting. And they don’t clean your room everyday you have to go get more towels for the next day.

The rooms smell like wet rags and mold. You wont get your room cleaned UNLESS you request it and when we did they didnt even bother to clean right. All they did was replace shampoo and towels and left the rest there. No one vacummed, broomed, or changed our bed sheets. The pool is green and doesnt work. The mini frigde in our room smells really bad. We had to take out our own trash because the workers here dont know how to do their job i guess.

My stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The sheets were completely unacceptable — they looked reused and not freshly changed, which was disgusting. The room itself did not appear clean upon arrival. I requested housekeeping, but none was done, and the staff told me they were short-staffed. For the price, I expected at least clean linens and a properly maintained room. I would not recommend staying here.

The staff was very nice. The room was somewhat nice. There was a very strong mildew/mold smell when i first arrived because the ac was left on full blast. The room was a chilly 62. Nice bathroom. No BBs. Room was too floor as well so dealt with noise. I didn't pay for the room so I didn't ask for another.
