The room appeared clean & tidy. The auto door latch that causes the outside to slam shut behind you & causes monumental difficulty then portaging luggage, was broken. That was a first and it was really nice !!! The upholstered chair cushion was clean on top, dirty on the bottom, wet & sticky. The carpet in front of that chair was wet & sticky, too— as if a soda had been spilled. Wearing shoes, who notices? I never sit in those chairs, so again, I would never, but my +1 does . . . The hinge on the bathroom door was damaged, but with a little lift, the door still closed. Water was hot. Pressure was good. Towels & bedding were very clean, comfortably clean. The a/c was cold. The next morning, the front desk person was late— AWOL. TWO people from housekeeping attended to me! They began to rectify problems as I loaded the car. Very attentive, apologetic— no need to apologize. Kind, diligent folks. This is a budget friendly & a pet or dog friendly facility and I think an excellent value for travellers. I’ve already told two people about the good part of our stayin’ & recommended the Hotel. LOTS of restaurants around, too. It’s located amidst East Indian shops & restaurants, we has Kebobs from a Persian restaurant. Phenomenal! Korean & Vietnamese communities at 1.25 miles away. This is truly a diamond in the rough.

I had a very disappointing stay at this hotel. The hallways constantly smelled like cigarette smoke and weed, which made it uncomfortable to even walk to my room. The elevator was out of service the entire time, so I had to use the stairs with all my luggage. When I got to the room, things were even worse. There were bugs inside the room and in the bathroom, and the toilet area did not feel clean at all. Overall, the hotel did not meet basic standards of comfort or cleanliness. I would not stay here again and cannot recommend it.

I stayed here for 2 nights (before Thanksgiving 2 days) and only used the room to shower and sleep, since I was out most of the day. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When entering the hallway on the 3rd floor, there was a very strong, unpleasant cigar smell that made it hard to breathe. The carpets throughout the hallway and stair areas are old, worn-out, and look extremely dirty. The elevator exists but never worked during my stay, so I had to use the stairs every time. The hotel advertises a pool and gym, but they were always closed and looked like they were only there for show, not actually for guests to use. The room itself felt damp and had a musty odor, likely because the carpet hadn’t been properly cleaned in a long time. The front desk staff never smiled or greeted guests. Everyone seemed unhappy and unfriendly. My advice: I do not recommend staying here. There are several much better-rated hotels and motels around the Bellaire Blvd area that would provide a more comfortable experience.

The positives are our room was clean and has what we needed. The negatives are the room has the smell of cigarettes and marijuana smoke along with the noise from the outside highway making it difficult to get a good night sleep. Services were good. I suppose I got what I paid for.

I purchased a room online and received a confirmation that the room I reserved was available. I had reserved the 1-Bedroom King bedroom. Upon arriving, there is nobody at the front desk for about 4 minutes. I kept hearing the sounds of somebody eating chips so I said, “excuse me?” to a doorway that was opened and there was no response. I heard the chip noises again so I said excuse me once more and this man walked out and just said “ID.”. There was no greeting or apology for the wait which I felt should’ve been a common courtesy. He then said, “the room you reserved is not available so I will give you the double beds instead”. I was confused how that was the next option rather than the king deluxe since it was an inconvenience on their end. After going back and forth he then said, “okay fine I will give you the 1-Bedroom King Deluxe Suite”; which was only offered because that’s the idea I proposed. The room and stay itself wasn’t terrible, there was no hospitality and it wasn’t welcoming. Although there was mold covered on the ceiling and the hallways reeked of cigarettes. When checking out, there were 3 lady’s standing at the counter just talked and when walking up to hand them my check in card, they all just looked at me and carried on with their conversation. I walked closer and looked at one woman directly and handed her the room keys. She looked at me and just snatched the cards from my hand and said, “thanks” and immediately put it on the table to carry on with their conversation. This has been the worst stay I have been at in a while. I prefer staying at La Quinta over anywhere else, but after this experience, I might have to choose somewhere differently. Not a safe location either.
