Words cannot describe how beautiful, elegant, chic, and exclusive this venue truly is for the Houston area! I naturally love microweddings so when I had the wonderful opportunity to photograph Joe & Bianca's wedding day, it was a dream come true! From the gorgeous dining room, to the outdoor space for the ceremony, and of course the bar, it just cannot get better than this downtown Houston hotel! The cleanliness and care that has put into this hotel and the management to have intimate weddings can be seen from a mile away; they really have put so much effort into creating a welcoming space overall and it shows! I enjoyed photographing here recently for B & J's wedding and cannot wait to be back here in the near future!! 🤍💒

We love this place. We've only stayed in the bungalows, but they are awesome. It appears the hotel purchased a 1960's courtyard apartment building and converted it to nightly rooms. The courtyard is a beautiful, romantic spot. And the mansion is a short walk away with full restaurant and bar. Honestly, there's so much more. You should just come spend a weekend here and see for yourself.

Excellent experience. Stayed here during a visit to Houston + wedding anniversary. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. You always feel welcomed as you come and go. The location to me is ideal. The rooms elegant and clean. The art! Art everywhere. Beautiful

I'm a wedding photographer in Houston and I am always scouting for locations that blend history with a modern, chic aesthetic, La Colombe d'Or delivers exactly that. I recently photographed a wedding couple getting ready here, and the renovated boutique atmosphere provided such a sophisticated backdrop for portraits. The architecture and the grounds are stunning, offering so many unique spots for high-end, timeless photos. The bar area is beautiful and the hotel location is super accessible to downtown. If you are looking for a venue in Houston that feels both historic and 'super chic' for your wedding day prep or an intimate event, this is it!

The hotel’s location is excellent, but the inconsistency between room types is disappointing. I’ve stayed in both the tower and the bungalow suites, and I would not recommend the bungalow unless perhaps you’re planning a long-term stay. The hotel does a poor job of explaining what to expect from the bungalow accommodations, which are not nearly as well-appointed as the tower rooms. They feel more like a hastily renovated apartment with trendy furniture than a true luxury hotel experience. We also encountered several issues during our stay. Although the concierge said they would assist, they never followed up or provided an explanation as to why nothing could be done. If you need more space, you’d be better off renting an Airbnb; otherwise, I strongly recommend booking a tower suite.
