Overall this hotel falls short of global Intercontinental properties. As an Ambassador of the brand I expected more. The room was very good in all fairness and the staff have been very helpful except after my stay when they couldn’t explain a certain charge to my bill. Breakfast is decent but I expected an omelette/egg station, more vegetable and cold cut variety. Also I had to ask for tea several times. The food served is good. Location is a minus as it’s quite far from key Houston landmarks but I had a car which mitigated the impact. Gym and pool were a disappointment- too small and limited for any meaningful exercise. The property is clean and well-maintained but shows signs of ageing and needs a refresh. Look forward to seeing improvements as an Ambassador of what is a great hotel brand. ——— I had to change the rating to a 1-star as my countless calls and emails on the billing charges and what they stand for have been ignored and still unanswered. Disgraceful behaviour and demonstrates a lack of respect and professionalism from hotel management and staff.

I had a fantastic stay at InterContinental Houston by IHG! From the moment I arrived, the staff was welcoming and attentive, making check-in seamless and pleasant. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable with modern amenities that made relaxing after a long day easy. The location is excellent — walking distance to the MDA Medical Center and close to Rice University and the Houston Zoo, which made exploring the area super convenient. The onsite restaurant and bar offered great food and drinks, and the outdoor pool was a refreshing bonus. I also appreciated the free shuttle service around the local area. Overall, a top-notch hotel with great service, comfort, and convenience. I would like to thank Abdulaziz and Abdul for the kindness. Highly recommend!

We have always loved staying here. We come to MD Anderson almost weekly for the past 7 months as part of a clinical trial. We also had a couple of inpatient hospital stays as my husband is battling stage 4 colon cancer. The hotel always provided complimentary water which is a plus when my husband has to drink 50 ounces prior to labs. They no longer provide the water. They only provide aluminum bottles for $10 as they say they are going green. I completely understand, but when you have up get up all night to drink water, you don’t want to go outside your room to refill it. When I asked the front desk if there multiple regular bottles of water to buy, he directed me to walk to to CVS 4 blocks away at 10:30 at night with a sick husband in my room. When I finally returned, I requested the manager to complain. She stated they could have drove me on the shuttle if it was earlier, but explained they will never provide plastic bottles of water to buy at this hotel. We will stay at Blossom or Double Tree from this point forward.

Johnetta and Arnez were our servers for brunch and their service was top tier! Tryston the manager was so accommodating! He took such good care of us for our weekend stay! The brunch at the restaurant downstairs was AMAZING! The balcony view from room 335 was gorgeous at night! Every staff member from housekeeping to valet greeted us with a smile and were friendly and attentive! We will surely be back!

We stayed here over the weekend for a wedding. The rooms were clean and comfortable, definitely a nice hotel! But I’m leaving a 1 star review because on Saturday the water was turned off for almost 3 hours during the day. I was mid shower, shampoo in my hair, and the water just shut off. The staff did not communicate clearly when the water would be back on or what was the cause of the shut off. I had to ask them to bring up bottles of water so I could wash out my hair before going to the wedding. The hotel did not offer any compensation or discount for this issue, and did not communicate clearly when it was happening.
