This is an absolutely wonderful hotel! The rooms are fantastic and the layout is very appealing. The main lobby is very professional looking. The staff are kind and very quick with check in and out and they make you feel welcome. The Breakfast is sensational!! They have absolutely everything for breakfast eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, fruit and much more than most hotels I have ever stayed at. I beyond recommend this location to anyone needing a great night stay in a magnificent room. I beyond recommend this hotel and location to anyone coming through this area!! Beyond worth it!

I chose this hotel because of its convenient location, but I was genuinely surprised by what I walked into — in the best way. From the moment I stepped into the elevator and saw the holographic doors, I knew this stay would be something special. For the price, I wasn’t expecting such a refreshing change from what I’m used to. The room featured a comfortable sitting lounge, a small kitchen nook, and even a designated area to put on shoes and hang jackets. There was also a business space, perfect for anyone needing to finish up work or handle tasks during their stay. The walk-in shower was stocked with hotel-provided shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. The shower gel was especially invigorating — just a few pumps and it wakes you right up. The mattress was incredibly comfortable and gave me such a deep, restful sleep I almost forgot I wasn’t at home. I really appreciated the separation between the living area and the sleeping area. Being able to sit on the couch and watch TV instead of staying in bed made the space feel more like a mini-apartment. Breakfast was another highlight. I was skeptical at first, but once I walked downstairs and saw everything matched the pictures — and tasted just as good — I was impressed. They offered Eggo waffles, boiled eggs, egg patties, fruit, cereal, and several bread options. The rolling toaster was a fun touch, and there were plenty of toppings for both the breads and the eggs. Overall, everything from the holographic elevator doors to the room itself and the delicious breakfast made my stay amazing. I will definitely return without a doubt.

I a a Hyatt Globalist and i generally love Hyatt and Hyatt Places. I almost did not stay here because of the terrible reviews. I did not find it to be as bad as some of the recent reviews but I can;t give it a 1 and I do not like t give poor reviews. I did take a long long time to get hot water on both my stays but when i got up i just ran the sink til it was hotter. There is Barb wire around the area and i parked a 15 passenger van with no consequences. The staff was average with the night attendant on my first generally unintrested, The rooms were not that bad but its certainly not a top Notch Hyatt Place. Than being said the rooms were $87 and $94 or 5000 points no so bad.

Unfortunately, my experience at this Hyatt location was not the best. After a very long day, I checked into my room looking forward to showering and resting, only to find that the shower water was ice cold and would not heat up at all. I went to the front desk and spoke with Paul, who was polite and genuinely tried to resolve the issue. He attempted to get the hot water running and even tried to move me to another room, but after checking, it was discovered that the hot water was not working throughout the hotel. As a result, I was unable to shower that night and had to go to bed without being able to properly clean up. The next morning, I spoke with the manager, Patel, to express my concerns and ask if there could be some form of accommodation or partial discount since I paid for a room but did not receive full service. Instead of understanding the inconvenience, he argued with me, stating that the water had been fixed and that I should have let it run longer, which was not true. When I explained this, he dismissed my concern and told me there was nothing he could do. I was very disappointed by the lack of empathy and customer service from management. While I appreciate Paul’s efforts at the front desk, the overall response from management left me feeling unheard and undervalued as a guest. I hope Hyatt addresses both maintenance issues and management’s approach to customer concerns in the future.

I stayed at the Hyatt Place Houston-North for two non-consecutive nights in December 2025. The rooms were average (2 stars) but the bathrooms were in need of repair. The service was average (2 stars) though they had printer issues and couldn't print my receipts. The location is conveniently close to the airport (3 stars) but is less good if you were planning to do things in downtown Houston. Despite the numerous shortcomings, this Hyatt location is a good bargain and can definitely be worth it if you have realistic expectations of what you are going to get from this Hyatt Category 1 hotel. If you view it as a cheap way to get qualifying nights for Hyatt status or you prioritize quick access to IAH airport, then this can be a viable option. If you were expecting a pampered luxury experience then you will likely be sorely disappointed - remember that Hyatt classifies this as Category 1 (out of 8)! The living quarters of both of my two rooms looked nice at first (images included of both rooms). It was clean enough though you could tell that the cleaning staff could still have done a better job. However, both of the bathrooms were in a sorry state of repair. My first room had a peeling bathtub on the side and bottom and the bottom of the wooden bathroom door was in a sorry state. My second room had similar issues with the bathroom door. The bathtub was in a better state but there was no hot water in the shower - this was at 5 AM so it's not like they ran out. The sink had hot water but the shower did not. There were no hot water issues during my first stay so this was clearly a room-specific issue. The view from the window is of commercial buildings - nothing to write home about. During my first stay, you could smell marijuana in the hallway. No issues on the second stay. The lobby seemed reasonable, though you could see the wear and tear on the torn cushion seat of one of the chairs in the dining area (viewable in one of the included pictures). There is a pool and a fitness area, though I didn't use either. Service was fine/average though for both visits (separated by 5 days) there were printer issues and they were unable to print a hard copy of the bill. I did appreciate that the hotel was able to accommodate early check-in on my first night (with no additional cost) when I arrived around 11:30 AM. There is a free breakfast. The eggs were generic egg patties that did not look or taste appealing. The sausage was surprisingly delicious, probably the best part of breakfast. There was french toast which I did not try. The fruit compote (strawberries + blackberries + raspberries) was okay but the mixed fruit (cantaloupe + honeydew + oranges) looked dicey and I questioned how fresh it was and whether some of it was leftover from the prior day. The bananas had browns splotches on the peel which made you think they bought bulk bananas and stored the extras in the fridge. They only had one type of coffee (no decaf). The orange and apple juice was average. So overall the breakfast was just average (with only the sausage standing out) but it was filling and it was free. There was free overnight parking for guests. I did not encounter any security issues but it sounds like other reviewers have. There is supposed to be a free shuttle to the airport but I didn't use it since I had a rental car. I would be willing to stay here again if I had an early morning departure from IAH or if I didn't want to pay the expensive rates and parking of downtown Houston hotels. Hopefully, the management will at least refurbish the bathrooms though!
