Fantastic hotel. We spent an amazing two weeks there. The room was clean and very well furnished, with a bathtub, an excellent hot shower, a microwave, a fridge, and, most importantly, a perfectly designed dedicated workstation with both backlight and front light. This made my teleconference calls extremely convenient and comfortable. We would also like to highlight the location. Since we do not drive at all, we were pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to get around. The nearest bus station was within walking distance, as well as Walmart, other large stores, and several excellent restaurants nearby. The view from our window was great, with the city skyline visible both during the day and at night. The place is quiet, with excellent noise insulation. We did not hear guests from other rooms at all. Now, about the breakfasts. We genuinely appreciated them, despite what some other comments say here. Come on, people. Two types of cornflakes, high-quality milk, excellent juice, cupcakes, coffee, bananas, and waffles on demand that you can make yourself in a waffle maker with maple syrup. What more do you need for breakfast? And if you do not find something, just ask. The breakfasts were so filling that we were not hungry for the rest of the day. We would also like to express our gratitude to the fantastic reception staff, especially Tom and Kevin - truly wonderful gentlemen. If we have to mention any downsides, there were a few minor issues with the cleaning staff. On one occasion, a cleaning lady of Mexican descent interrupted me two hours before our planned checkout while I was on an important conference call. Despite two "do not disturb" signs on the door, she knocked loudly, shouted, and opened the door. Additionally, we did not request cleaning for the entire two weeks in order not to bother them, yet at checkout she asked for a propina, which felt, in our view, somewhat inconsiderate. Overall, the cleaning staff were the only source of noise, often shouting to each other in the hallways. In our opinion, the administration should review the policy regarding respecting "do not disturb" signs, especially during working hours, as this can be quite disruptive and inappropriate for guests on professional calls. That said, we are confident this can easily be resolved with proper communication, and we believe future stays will be perfectly fine.

Dirty room. The night manager was not helpful and clearly just wanted to get us out of the way to get back to his TV show. The gentleman running the desk in the morning was helpful. The breakfast was the word I have ever had in a hotel. The coffee tasted like someone’s grandma snuffed out her cigarette in it, muffins were very stale, and frozen eggs given to us as to microwave was just not the vibe. Towels were stained, sheets were not clean. Pillows were SO small and lumpy! When I asked for more, they said they had none. The bed was awful as well. Hardly got any sleep. Will be reaching out to management directly to resolve this stay.

Housekeeping knocked my $400 retainer onto the floor and swept into the trash. Manager said he would talk to her and get back with me. It’s been 2 weeks now. Mind you I have it recorded where she admitted to sweeping it up and throwing it away. I have the manager cell phone number and have reached out to him numerous times and texted him. No reply yet.

I had a great experience staying at Howard Johnson by Wyndham in Houston Heights! From the moment I checked in, the staff was friendly, welcoming, and efficient, making the process quick and easy. The room was very clean, well-maintained, and surprisingly spacious. I appreciated the in-room amenities like the microwave, mini-fridge, and coffee maker, which made my stay even more convenient. The bed was super comfortable, and I slept very well both nights. The location is perfect close to downtown, with easy access to restaurants, shops, and the freeway. The free breakfast was simple but nice perfect for grabbing a quick bite before heading out. Parking was free and easy to access, which is always a plus in the city. Overall, I couldn’t have asked for more from a budget-friendly hotel. Clean, comfortable, safe, and with great service. I’ll definitely be staying here again on my next trip to Houston!

It's a Motel! Vehicle required to get about. Very basic rooms, clean but needs a lot of modernising. It's very noisy at nights beside Freeway, trucks and traffic never stop. The fridge and the air conditioning rattle all night, too. The pictures they use on the main page must have been taken when it first opened! I didn't even realise it was the same place, and we stayed 3 nights.
