Absolutely horrendous place to stay. Would not recommend! Got my key and walked into my room and saw a cockroach on the bed. Went back to the front desk and they gave me a new room. Even though this room was better than the one originally given it was still very bad. Not clean properly. The shower certain has mold, the bedding had stains, and the room in general very ran down. The pictures shown in google and the app are very deceptive of the place. A complete catfish of what the rooms actually are. Save your money and time and go somewhere else.

I booked a one-night stay (Jan 12–13) and arrived around 10 PM. The front desk clerk was very kind and helpful. Unfortunately, my experience with the room was terrible. Room #101 had numerous cockroaches — on the bed, walls, microwave, and in the bathroom. The bedding was dirty, and the carpet and curtains had brown, red, and yellow stains. The room also had a very strong cigarette smell. We were moved to another room (#209) on the second floor. There were fewer cockroaches, but the carpet and curtains were still dirty with stains, and the cigarette smell remained unbearable. In the end, I had to sleep in my car in the hotel parking lot. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this hotel.

I traveled to Houston for a job interview and chose this hotel for its great location. The receptionist went out of her way to wish me luck before I left for the interview in the morning. When I returned, tired but happy, my room had been cleaned and organized beautifully. That small detail made me feel truly cared for. The stay gave me the rest and confidence I needed on such an important trip.

Let me be real...I've stayed at several budget hotels before. They've all been pretty cruddy, but Howard Johnson by the Houston Hobby Airport is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I don't know how this hotel is still in business. It needs to be condemned. I booked this hotel directly through the hotel itself. There was no third-party website involved. I booked a 3-night stay, but I only stayed for one of them. The only reason I stayed the first night was because it was getting late and I had nowhere else to stay at the time. Thankfully, I was able to secure different accommodations the following morning for the remainder of my visit to Houston. This hotel is extremely structurally unsafe and not at all sanitary. I was given one room to stay in on the first floor, but was moved to a different one on the second floor due to the smoke detector chirping as I walked into the room. It also reeked of cigarette smoke, despite it supposedly being a smoke-free room. But the new room they put me in was far worse than the first one. The floor was sinking in. You could feel this as you walked throughout the room. About half of the floor tiles in the bathroom were broken and the floor felt as if it was going to collapse at any minute, so it wasn't safe to walk in the bathroom. At all. The toilet seat was barely attached to the toilet. The front door had dents and paint peeling off of it. The bathroom door was bashed in. There was a layer of filth throughout the entire room. I found a baby cockroach crawling in the bathroom sink. There was plastic wrap around the smoke detector. There was mold on the shower curtain. There was a very foul odor throughout the entire room, but I couldn't quite pinpoint where the smell was coming from. There is no chance I will ever stay at this hotel ever again.

Warning: Do not stay in this place. Check-in at scary night window. Parking lot full of people loitering and not safe. Area smell. Room door broken down bad, can easily open without key. Matrice and bedsheet have lots of cigarette burns. Bathoom is disgusting. I cancelled without refund and went some to other hotels. DO NOT stay here.
