It was our first time staying at this beautifully restored hotel that used to be a historic bank, and what a gorgeous place. The décor was already set up for the holidays and looked absolutely stunning! We decided to have dinner at the bar, even though the restaurant had plenty of space. The service was friendly, sharing the stories of ghosts haunting the place. The best part was the food – super impressive. We shared a margarita pizza to start, then had the Thai salad with shrimp and the Greek salad with steak. Everything was full of flavor, but the real standout was the dressing: garlicky, bright, and unforgettable. Hands-down this was an exceptional experience. When we are back on Houston – we will stay there again.

My experience at ICON was probably average for an overnight stay. The hotel common areas are neat and clean. The rooms were clean and have the expected amenities. Did not look for WiFi, but television could have greater offerings. Parking valets can seem a little aggressive at first. Food (dinner, breakfast buffet) was good but fairly standard fare, with the buffet included in the reservation. The room views are buildings - what one might expect in downtown Houston. Cigarette butts and the lingering smell of smoke around the entrance took away from the first impression. I would stay here again if the situation demanded it (business, but not leisure).

What an amazing place to stay located right in the heart of downtown Houston. Staff were amazing and very accommodating. Valet service members were exceptionally professional and courteous. Definitely will be back. Beautiful architectural landmark. Once and old bank over 100 year old legendary iconic building. We were able to check in early and check out late. Best place we’ve ever stayed !!!

Beautiful room. Some boutique rooms can be small but not here. Set up a romantic staycation with wife. Staff very friendly. Lovely bar area when you check in. Now....the elevators are small. I think it's because the building originally was a bank. Decor reminds me of the 1920s. Rooms are soundproof with blackout curtains. Bed has an outstanding weighted blanket. Haven't tried food service yet. Will definitely return.

Outstanding Hotel!! This renovated building that once was a bank, is Stunning!! I loved the old vault, my massive rooms, and the elevator with the old fashion “level meter.” all Outstanding!!! The staff were simply Fantastic!!! I would rate this hotel a full 10 stars if I could!!!
