Otis!! This is all about Otis! He welcomed us with a pleasant smile, he was informative and accommodating. We were excited, as we were celebrating a special occasion. He definitely matched our energy and made our experience GRAND!! The room itself was aestically quaint, but could use some upgrades on some of the furniture selections. Our room did not have a microwave or refrigerator, so that was disappointing. We were advised that they are available upon request and no longer standard. Overall a great choice for the occasion, and we were very pleased with our stay. We enjoyed breakfast at Hull and Oak, which was awesome. For late evening, the hotel bar was quiet but the experience, and food were a great addition to our wonderful evening. The Chocolate Martini's in the bar were simply amazing!! Last but not least, the Valet was very accommodating. Oh, did I mention Otis, at the front desk!! Yes, he has the personality to draw you in, and make you feel as if you're the only guest there!!

My husband and I stayed here for Valentine’s Day 2026 and we had such an amazing time! Friendly check-in at the front desk. Very fancy and clean! Our room was perfect! We loved the mirror doors opening around the tub. When you stay, you receive a $13 credit for the on-site restaurant, Hull & Oak. We enjoyed visiting the bar after our dinner out in Houston (this hotel is in an excellent location)! We had breakfast at Hull & Oak and used our credit. The food was great and the service was excellent! Josue, our server, took wonderful care of us. Only thing to BEWARE of is the valet parking fee - $75! Very expensive and unanticipated. However, Zaza at valet did take great care of us as well. Other than the expensive valet, it was a perfect stay! I’d love to visit again and go to the spa!

I booked a staycation as a gift to myself for valentines wknd.. let’s just say I couldn’t be more pleased with my choice! I had the king deluxe room on the 19th floor.. it was VERY nice with a great view! The lady at the front desk when i checked in ( i think her name was Sharice.. sorry if i spelled it wrong) was Amazing and Very Helpful..i ask for a fridge to be sent to my room and she made it happen quite fast my i say. The valet guys were Great especially JP and few others .. both day and night! Everytime they saw me they spoke and joked with me as if they had knew me for years which made other ppl I’m sure question who am i lol. Last night the weather was horrible and help an umbrella over me as i got into my car. Even when i was leaving this afternoon Abdul said “I’m sure I’ll see you soon Tee!” This was a great stay and the Staff and Valet guys made my wknd EVEN better! I know for a fact ill be back!

Otis at this location is truly AMAZING at supporting guests. The hotel itself allows pets which I didn't know prior to booking and the pool is not heated but these weren't big issues for me, just depends what you want! I went out to explore and the Houston Marquise just down the road has heated pools on the roof and is closer to a park but also much busier and frequently hosts conferences. The Laura is perfect if you want an upscale, quiet getaway in the heart of downtown!

Had a great experience here from start to finish. Tanisha (my server) was fantastic — super attentive and gave excellent recommendations on what to order. The bartender also deserves a shout-out for his fabulous orange mimosa with a splash of Grand Marnier — absolutely perfect. Everyone we interacted with was personable, friendly, and seemed to genuinely enjoy what they do. The barbecue shrimp and grits were flavorful and well-seasoned. My only small critique would be to add a bit more protein to the dish — maybe some ham or bacon to take it from great to impeccable. Overall, highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for good food, great drinks, and even better service.
