Reviews
Let me be clear, I have not stayed here. However, the price point for the room although cheap does not mean you are getting more for your money according to the reviews. You are getting the opposite. The easiest part to upkeep of a hotel is general maintenance but this does not seem to be a priority. Property owner(s) get with it customer experience program. You are losing money.

ALERT ALERT ALERT - STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Like many, I stayed at this hotel (twice) because I have early flights, and I still had to return the rental car... so, the location is convenient (I scored the location with 1 star because I don't want some algorithm 'upping' the score because of scoring that portion higher - this is less than one star hotel!). The first time I stayed there, I was given a room overlooking the airport... cool! But, the window was broken, water run running down it from the AC upstairs. and the room smelled like musty mold! When I checked in, the employee told me where the restaurant was, and where the complimentary breakfast is served. The next morning I went down stairs to get breakfast. I went to grab my plate and was stopped in my tracks. "Do you have a voucher?" a lady asked. "Uh no! For what?" I asked. She said I needed a voucher to eat there. This would have been great information to have when I checked in, not as I'm grabbing my plate. I ended NOT eating there at all. Since I travel alone, I accepted that I might face those same conditions if I stayed there again, so I booked another night for a later date. The later date was last night... When I entered the lobby, it was completely overwhelmed with the smell of RAW SEWAGE .... The smell was so bad that, the hotel employee was wearing a mask, and people were walking through the lobby with sweatshirts wrapped about their face so they didn't breath it in, and so not to smell it. The kitchen was "closed for maintenance" but I would venture to guess the real reason is probably because people could not eat there because of the sewage smell. The hallways are old, smelly, and dated. While the staff isn't necessarily rude, at least not to me, they show no sense of possessing even the most basic of customer service skills. While in the room last night, I could still smell the sewage on the 5th floor and, at one point, I started to get a headache. I do tend to write more reviews based on my negative experiences, but I am not a habitual complainer. This experience certainly rises to the level where I need to complain, and ask for my money back. I don't know the available Texas government resources to deal with these types of issues... but I'm about the find out! THIS PLACE NEEDS TO BE BULLDOZED AND, IF REBUILT, NEW OWNER/OPERATORS NEED TO RUN IT!!!!!!

Stay away from here . Just changed ownership to Wyndham . Nobody transferred reservations. I re booked a room upon arrival however . I should have paid attention more in lobby but was weary after a long day , For the first time ever I left a hotel for another . Peeling wallpaper on room floors , smell of mildew . Room wasn’t dirty but not cleaned well either upon further glance . After reading others experiences I Left for Hilton garden inn . This place should be closed until it’s remodeled & acceptable . Horrible standards for a national brand . Should not be allowed to be open

Before I get into the horrible things about this place, let me say firstly that the front desk clerk was the absolute best. He definitely needs to be employed in a 5 star or better hotel. Now to the meat of the story. My sis and I, having traveled quite a distance, arrived shortly before midnight. We checked in, made it to the room eagerly anticipating the feel of a nice warm bed. Upon entering our room, 2 huge cockroaches greeted us and I damn near reinjured my knee trying to make my escape back into the hallway!! We went back to the lobby, explained the situation, and were given another room to try. This time, being that my sister is the younger sibling, I made my her go in first. As soon as she hit the light switch, there were several cockroaches scurrying from a meeting in the middle of the tiled entrance. Needless to say, we canceled the room and are just now checking into the much cleaner, currently being renovated, Double Tree by Hilton down the street.

DO NOT STAY HERE. This is a Holiday Inn in name only. I don't usually write reviews for hotels, that's how bad this was. After checking in, the receptionist (who was incredibly dismissive and disrespectful) claimed that they were still repairing hurricane damage and told me to approve of my room once I visually inspected it. I'm not heartless, but Hurricane Beryl had been gone for three weeks on the day I made the reservation, meaning I should have been notified in writing that the quality of my accommodations would be affected. Based on previous reviews, this appeared to the latest convenient excuse for the near-constant mildew and mold smells throughout the hotel, among other problems. Given that I didn't have a ton of other options at 11PM, I toughed out the atrocious smells, roaches, and lack of hot water for a night before continuing my travels. I'm sure I'll get a poorly typed, passive-aggressive response from the GM. If you're reading this, CLOSE THIS HOTEL DOWN FOR REPAIRS. Don't let greed get in the way of what will probably be some folks' only impression of Houston.
