Holiday Inn Houston Downtown

I used to avoid Holiday Inn because of a bad experience I had 15 years ago in Dubai. Since then, I never stayed at a Holiday Inn during my business trips. This time, I traveled to the USA for business and needed to stay in downtown Houston for my meetings. I couldn’t find any available hotels from Feb 9 to Feb 15, and the only option left was Holiday Inn. Honestly, I was not happy about it at first. But I’m really glad I gave it a chance—it completely changed my mind. The room was spacious and very comfortable, and it had everything I needed. The staff were welcoming, and what really impressed me was the duty manager. My flight was late at night, so I asked for a late checkout. The front desk said they could only extend it by 3 hours, while I needed 6 hours, so I had to book an extra night. When I checked out, the manager told me they would not charge me for the extra night because I’m a member and it was a gift. I really appreciate this great service and experience.

This location in downtown Houston, has always been a great place to stay, and now with the newly renovated rooms, bathrooms and corridors, has been an even greater reason, for us to keep coming back. Service goes above and beyond along with the good management and it’s turning out to be a very welcoming and warming stay. Really a must see for yourself experience.

I stayed here 2 nights.The room itself is ok the bed and bedding are comfortable. But was a complete disappointment otherwise. The indoor pool or any pool of any kind doesn’t exits. There is NO Burger Theory or any restaurant inside there is no bar No roof lounge. No room service.Just a crappy breakfast that should be free but we paid for that also in advance.The parking is $30 per night and a$200 deposit they don’t tell you about until check in. Pretty much messed up my NewYears Eve and New Years 5 thumbs down.Dont waste you money or time

Based on the cost and location, this hotel was very disappointing. I was not greeted as a Platinum Member and given an option of which reward I wanted. They told me complimentary water was in my room. I don't drink that kind of water that was in my room and that is exactly why I always chose points over water. The bathroom was not as clean as other locations I have stayed at. Water spots were on the sink, and hair was in the sink, as if it hadn't been cleaned. The shower was not as clean as it should have been. The bathroom was very small with no counter space. Furniture and curtains are very dated. The keys to parking didn't work, and the parking garage is very small, making you feel unsafe at all. There were no security cameras. Based on the Holiday Inn brand and the price of this location, I was very disappointed in the quality of the property. I will not be staying at this location in the future.

Spent a night here during a layover to Houston. Rooms were okay - I would have overlooked the unfinished bathroom, the drab interiors, and the one functioning elevator. The bed was comfortable enough. I was woken just before 8am on a Sunday morning to loud banging - confused I called the front desk and they told me they were doing renovations. I understand that hotels need work from time to time but there seem to be SO many ways to mitigate impact on guests. Really wasn’t impressed.
