TRY TO AVOID THIS HOTEL if possible. We only stayed here because we came into town last minute and had to settle since most of the better hotels were already booked, and unfortunately, it showed why this place had availability. Let’s start with the location. While getting gas across the street, we were immediately approached and hassled by someone trying to sell us a CD. That pretty much set the tone. It’s not in the best or safest-feeling area, especially if you’re traveling with family and smaller kids. As for the hotel itself, it’s clearly older. I understand not every place is going to be luxury, especially for a 2–3 star hotel, but basic cleanliness and upkeep should still be expected. When we got to our first room, we noticed a bug near the air conditioning unit. Not ideal, but it got worse. When we pulled out the sofa bed for our child, the mattress was EXTREMELY stained; completely unacceptable. At that point, we had to go back to the front desk and request a new room. To their credit, the front desk staff did switch us to another room, which was better, but by then, the experience was already off to a bad start. In addition, our kid had an accidental nosebleed overnight due to allergies and stained one of the sheets. No problem- accidents happen, and we were fully prepared to cover the cost. However, we were charged $60 for a stained sheet, which felt excessive and unnecessary. Especially since they couldn’t even clean away a dead visible bug before a guest checked in, but this is the charge for a stained fabric? The manager I spoke with over the phone said that the property manager - Matthew Selby, said this was normal business procedures. Now let’s talk value. We paid around $140 per night AND they require a $150 security deposit that takes 3–5 days to be returned. For what you get, this place feels like a complete money grab. DO THIS FOLKS: For the same total amount they’re charging (room + deposit), you could easily book a 4-star hotel in the downtown or Galleria area and have a MUCH better experience, cleaner, safer, and actually worth your money. Even if a nicer hotel is not available, try a Hampton Inn in this city, they are usually WAY better for the same rate (if not less) than this hotel. Overall, this place is not worth it. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else.

The front desk people are not welcoming or friendly and do the bare minimum of their job to help you. I have roomed with this hotel a couple of times, the first few were good, however, I noticed on my most recent visit the receptionists came off as rude. I also specifically book the same standard room everytime, however it has been more than once that I have received a specific mobility accessible room. I booked exactly the standard room and I noticed the rooms were different because on my first visit the rooms were great. I do have to say the gym and breakfast is nice, however the experience was mediocre in addition with the interesting parking situation with poles everywhere and also thin walls.

What a terrible experience, I had to create a gmail account just to leave a review! I arrived with my wife and daughter and met with the receptionist Nicole. She reeked of marijuana. It was so strong I told my wife and daughter to wait on the other side of the lobby. I couldn’t believe it. She must’ve noticed I sent my wife and daughter away because she clearly felt some type of way about it. She was extremely rude and kept rolling her eyes. It should have been such a simple check in experience but Nicole made it miserable. Literally one of my worst experiences I’ve had at any business ever. I can’t believe a place like this employs that type of employee. The smell of weed alone should’ve prompted a manager to send her home for the day. I honestly think she must’ve been smoking at the desk! Isn’t weed supposed to make people chill and not the opposite? This is the type of behavior I would expect at an Oyo hotel and not a holiday inn. Stay away from this place! The location also sucks and is in a sketchy area. It appears google took down my previous review so I edited it

Asma at the front desk was very warm, professional, and helpful. She made the check-in process smooth and provided excellent customer service. I truly appreciate her kindness and assistance during my stay. This is the second year she has helped with check-ins for my group guests.
