Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Katy

The staff at this location go above and beyond to make your experience so much more than what you would expect at a Holiday Inn. I wanted to provide a special shoutout to Sylvester and Shimari. Sylvester, the chef, makes you feel like you’re dining at his home each morning with breakfast prepared for you and yours. His cooking is exceptional and his personality will make you feel like you’ve known him for a lifetime. If you’re getting eggs and bacon, Sylvester will make sure that you leave with a laugh and a smile as well. While eating breakfast in the lobby a tv near my family was playing the local weather. My 3 year old niece told her parents, “I wish we could watch Peppa Pig instead.” One of the staff (Shimari) must’ve over heard this because less then 60 seconds later the tv changed to Peppa Pig. My niece was shocked and said “oh my gosh Mom the tv must be magic!” It was a moment that cost nothing but made for an exceptional customer experience, thanks Shimari!

The hotel is very clean. The staff are great, Especially Vanna . She was always polite with a smile, very accommodating . Joy helped us also with a lot of other issues as well hotel. The hotel is located right on the highway and it can be noisy outside the inside. It’s very quiet.. Breakfast is good. I recommend this hotel for a stay in Houston. Great access to many restaurants as well. Great access to mini restaurants also, there is a Target Located nearby should you have forgotten anything and a huge mall connected to it?

I love the consistency and value of IHG hotels. The people who work there are also always the nicest people. The gentlemen that checked us in was so nice and the lady that ran the breakfast was a gem. You can expect a great workout at the gym and then a great selection for breakfast. There's always coffee with tasty creamers in the lobby which was so needed to go to the Magical Winter Lights after a long day. Holiday Inn Express is now my go to for stays and I'll even elect to stay a night instead of driving home even if I'm within hour of home because of the amenities and service.

Sadly, we can't give this location a better than 3 star rating. At first, we thought this would be an excellent stay, but that didn't last long. The air conditioner in the room was loud even when we lowered the fan level and it was difficult to get a comfortable temperature in the room. There was also an issue with both outside noise and noise from the room above ours until well after midnight. Then the water pressure and temperature level were both underwhelming. If we hadn't been already tired from traveling and it being after 9pm we would have requested a room change. The lack of caring from the person working the front desk when we checked out in the morning didn't make things better. We definitely won't be staying at this location again.

This place is the best value accommodations we've experienced in quite awhile. Price was excellent, staff were uniformly helpful and courteous, and the breakfast service was solid. Good fitness center and guest washing machines are available. There is road noise from I-10 if you have an even numbered room and one elevator was not operational, but these were the only downsides we encountered.
