I usually stick with Hilton properties for their consistency, especially in smaller towns. This Hampton Inn recently updated their decor with a nice modern flare, which looked great. However, two things to keep in mind: The Shower: If you like a steaming hot shower, you might be disappointed. It only ever reached "warm" during my stay. The Bathroom: They’ve switched to barn-style doors. They look sleek, but they don't lock and offer very little privacy. If you’re sharing a room, make sure you’re very comfortable with your roommate! Clean and modern, but definitely a few functional trade-offs.

Do not trust the good rating! On the website, it says they have cribs available. Spoiler alert: they do not. We requested one when booking in advance, and if they had notified us that they did not have any, we would’ve canceled our reservation and gone elsewhere. The room smelled incredibly musty, but was something we could live with. Also, they didn’t want our young children walking around the hotel room, because it made too much noise from their little footsteps. We have two young autistic children, and they weren’t even crying or anything they were just walking. Absolutely ridiculous. Staff was incredibly rude and disrespectful as well, telling me he wasn’t interested in arguing with me, we could go elsewhere, and to “take care of my kids”

I give it a 5 star purely due to Marie’s great service. We reserved a 2 queen bed room but when we arrived, it was overbooked. Marie did her best to solve the problem quickly and professionally. She did a very good job. Thanks to Marie! Meanwhile, hotel need to figure out a permanent solution for room overbooking issue. Hotel first priority is customer satisfaction instead of profitability. Only hotel with good customer satisfaction can win business in the long term.

I usually count on Hampton Inns for a clean, comfortable stay, but this one missed the mark. The room had a strong mildew smell that didn’t go away — we switched rooms a couple of times and ran into the same issue each time. It was really quite unpleasant, difficult to ignore in the room and not sure if it was a health issue (mold?) The front desk staff, especially Christine, was kind and tried to help, but the problem seems bigger than what the staff can fix. You can tell management knows — the smell is mentioned in plenty of other reviews. After enough attempts, we just gave up and moved to another hotel. A disappointing experience from a brand that’s normally so consistent. Never heard anymore from hotel or Hilton/Hampton Inn - so really best avoided.

We stay here every year that we come to the Lone Star Rally on Galveston Island. We're "particular" about where we lay our heads to rest for the night. This location has NEVER failed us! We were pleasantly surprised by the remodel they'd done. Nice job Hampton Inn & Suites @Seabrook!
