Great Value Inn Houston Galleria

Overall, a good budget friendly spot to sleep and shower in a good location. Numerous food options within walking/bicycle distance. Close to METRO stop and Harwin shops. Night auditor at front desk was friendly, clear, and concise. He accidentally double-charged my deposit but promptly admitted his mistake at check out. I’m waiting on my refund and will update this review accordingly. If amenities and cleanliness are important to you, I’d look elsewhere. If price and “great value” matter most, this could be a solid option.

The reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because 1. At the time, the elevators weren’t working and that’s really concerning if you’re disabled and you can’t take the stairs. 2. There was no hot water in the bathroom. Not in the sink or shower. 3. Cooking will forfeit your incidental deposit. What concerned me the least is the TV had “okay” picture quality and Most of the channels were in Spanish. You’re not getting a Flat screen for sure. Overall great Hotel but improvements need to be made. S.O. To the receptionist Brian because he’s the reason why I was able to save money from a non refundable booking and make this review.

Stayed here for 5 days then was told I would have to pay $150.00 deposit for my service dog. We called in advance and was told service dogs were welcome. I refused to pay the deposit after my fifth day of staying here and was told I would have to leave the property. There's no breakfast. No phones in the rooms. The WiFi is shoddy with low security. No washer or dryers. The rooms were filthy and floor boards were rotted out. There were no door knobs on the closets either. This place is by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I would never recommend that anymore stay here. Do not be fooled by the outer appearance. This place sucks!!! I didn't even want to give it 1 star for a review but I had to in order to leave a written report. Do not come here ever. Also, we were paid up for another day and they refused to refund our money.

This place is by far the worst place i have ever been and let me tell you why, the stairs is black from dirt and dust collected as if its been here since the building has,the rooms are dirty every corner is filled with dust, their customer service is horrible, they take forever and talk to you any kind of way, the night guy goes on smoke breaks all the time and comes in smelling up the place, but they will charge you if you do, they dont like to give you laundry so they lead you on the go around telling you to wait on the next shift, and they don't have guess laundry so if you work mornings there is no way to get clean towels. Outside is trash, smells like pee, overgrowth everywhere also poison ivy around the pool and by entrance, roaches in the bathroom and hallway bad. No ice machine, they have an elevator but you can never use it because its always out of service. They scam you for your 40 dollar deposit. The best service your gonna get here is when they take your money. It is not worth staying here. You will regret it!

If you just passing by town and need a bed this is it. Great price, that being said don't expect anything super fancy or USB plugs in the wall. This is a quick spot to spend the night and keep going in the morning. Beds are clean and comfortable, water does take a few seconds to get hot but it's definitely worth it for the price. I recommend room 217
