Pros: the location felt safe and it was pretty close to a lot of stuff. The staff is also incredibly nice and friendly, and at night the hotel is very quiet. It was actually pretty quiet during the day as well. Cons: it’s very clear that the rooms and the hotel overall has not been updated in years and years. The room was a good size and the beds were comfy, but there was a damp smell in the air. The bathroom was also a good size, but there was no hot water, the water got lukewarm at best. For breakfast, it opens up at 7 AM on Sundays so while we were a little bit early at 6:45, the spread was still disappointing. Overall, I didn’t have a terrible time here, but I personally would only stay here for a night if I just needed somewhere quick to stay.

I chose this because of location and price. We are here to simply sleep and shower. It’s great for that. The tv is small, the room is small, and it’s an older hotel. This doesn’t bother me or my travelers as it is clean and comfortable. For the price it’s great. The coffee and breakfast is not bad. We enjoyed the breakfast but I am coffee snob and did get coffee elsewhere- however, my husband liked it. Parking is free and pool was closed during our stay.

I’m giving this a 2 instead of a 1 because the bed was comfortable and the room quiet. Plus desk staff were polite. Hotel is dirty, wife saw a roach in the bathroom, maid left cleaning cloth in tub, common areas unusually warm, sign at breakfast said “no coffee today”, pool closed, I lifted some weights in fitness room and got black gunk on my hands, shower stopped working one morning and front desk clerk said there was no one there to fix it - I could shower in another room. By the end of the day shower did get fixed. We almost always stay at Marriotts and were surprised how bad this one is.

I initially had planned to stay at this hotel for several days. I arrived late due to a flight delay. However, the bathtub was dirty and had several bugs in it and would not drain. The toilet was dirty and there were several rooms with mattresses in the windows. Additionally, there was no coffee in the morning and the pool was completely shut down. This hotel seemed like it was literally on its last leg. I would not recommend staying here at all.

I guess I’ll start from the beginning. We arrived at the Hotel, and they had NO A/C in the hotel, except in the rooms. Mind you, we were in Houston, TX and it’s JUNE! Middle of the summer, you can imagine the temperature outside, but their A/C is Broke! The place looks ok on the outside, it seems they gave it a paint job, but it’s feels like they just applied some make up. We found Mold in the bathroom by the shower. I went to bed late, but Room service thought it was a good time to knock at 8 am and open the door and come in, woke me up. Great! Since I was up, decided to change and go downstairs to have breakfast, the eggs and protein was gone, I asked if they were going to add more since it was 8:30 am, but they said that normally they don’t after that time, even though the breakfast ends at 9 am. Great! I tried calling the front desk from the room, but the phone didn’t work. Tried calling the hotel with my cell phone, but no one picked up. What a Disappointing Experience! I don’t know who’s running that hotel, but they are definitely destroying the Marriott Brand!
