Extended Stay America Houston NASA Johnson Space Center

We just stayed for a night to access the Houston Space Center, and for that it was fine. The room was clean enough, but much of the common areas look pretty tired. If you don’t need to stay long and can get it cheap, this hotel is fine. However, ownership should be aware that the hotel is drifting into the “well, at least it’s cheap so what do you expect” category.

I would give this place zero stars if I could. Dirty and outdated rooms, and unprofessional staff. I walked in after a long travel day and had to wait at the counter while the front desk staff sat in the back watching tick toks. After finally checking me in, she gave me no room or amenity info, just the number and a key. The room was filthy. Cockroaches crawling about. Hair, blood, and other body fluids on all surfaces including the bathroom. The shower curtain had very clearly never been cleaned. In fact - it was so dirty (brown and black at the bottom) that it left a clear brown line after dripping onto the towel on the floor for a day. The fridge was filthy and had food, hair, and dust. The end tables had dust, boogers, and other body fluids very clearly on them. Oh yea, and there is very little hot water, people were smoking weed in the facility, and the internet did not work until the second day. All said - DISGUSTING! This is by far the worst hotel I have stayed at in the USA. I will make sure my company never sends employees here again.

Stayed for about a month with my dog. Plenty of areas to walk him although they do need to refill the single doggy bag station. Staff is pretty chill, the room was clean, and the trash room was very convenient. Breakfast is fine if you're on the go but I do wish they had a continental breakfast bar. Would be five stars with that for sure. Only reason I took off a star was because I had to get my room key reset like every other day. Maybe update the key cards and locks. Would accept that over the breakfast bar. Very convenient location with everything you need. Room was great for a long stay. Nice kitchen good size fridge; they do supply what you need as far as kitchen items to cook with. Zero noise complaints!

Love this hotel, I've stayed here several weeks over time for work! The location is fantastic. Clean rooms, staff is very friendly. I really can't say anything negative. Especially given the price. Thank you!

I really don’t like bashing businesses, but I can’t take it anymore. There’s so many things wrong with this establishment. I don’t even know where to begin. My family and I have been staying here for the past month and a half. Two weeks into our stay the elevator goes out. I normally don’t mind taking the stairs, but when we booked we booked our room on the third floor. That was before the elevator went out. I had no way of knowing. It’s such a hassle brining in groceries, or having elderly visitors. The elevator is STILL broken. The next thing I’ll comment on, is the cleanliness. It looks like they don’t have a janitor or a clean crew. There’s always TRASH strewn all over the stair wells (it also stinks like mold, so don't get me started on that) They wait for the “trash rooms” to pile up before taking out the trash. I’ve seen roaches in the trash rooms as a result. The laundry machines are expensive, and they never dry your clothes all the way, despite setting it to high heat. I’ve ruined a lot of clothes. The laundry room is also always a mess as well. Housekeeping can be rude and they’re always gossiping loudly in Spanish. (I know. I speak and understand Spanish.) There’s been a couple of times where my room couldn’t get done, because of my cat and they show up at random times. I have to put my cat in a carrier for I’m not sure how long until they can get to my room. Which isn’t fair to my cat. Breakfast is “grab and go” which is just a muffin or oatmeal. But who has the time to make and eat oatmeal “on the go” There’s just a lot to take in. The hotel does have a couple of nice employees who helped me exchange my sheets, and towels. So that was nice. However one employee, Natasha, isn’t the friendliest or most welcoming. It seems like every interaction I’ve had with her she seems displeased, and I’m inconveniencing her in some way. Almost annoyed. She seems very tense all the time. Maybe I’m miss reading. It also takes awhile before anyone at the front desk comes to help you. They’ll have you standing in the lobby. You have to shout “Hellooo” over the counter for someone to walk out of a back room to tend to you. This place is also a hot spot for police/criminal activity. They’re always patrolling the parking lots around the area. Which is great, I haven’t personally witnessed anything out of the ordinary. There’s been a couple times where I’ve seen blood outside?? Maybe that’s why 😂 All in all my stay hasn’t been good. Like at all! I’m not even sure who to get in touch with honestly.
