I stayed here for a week and a half. The first room they put me in had rotted wood in windowsill, musty smell, and microwave did not work. Front Desk clerk said that they just finished work in that room. The second room they moved me to was on third floor adjacent to trash room and has mold in the window sill. Employee props open the door to the trash room and would leave it opened, causing the smell of trash, on warm days, to fill the entire hallway because trash was not being taken out on a consistent basis. I did smell cigarette and Marijuana coming through the vent in the bathroom on several occasions. The showerhead appears to be defective, also does not have good water pressure and a tiny stream of barely noticeable water shoots over the shower curtain spraying water all over various areas of the bathroom. For my entire 10-day stay a smoke alarm was chirping on the third floor indicating fire safety concerns. While the property has many signs saying the property is being renovated I never once saw anyone doing any renovation work. There is an area near the front desk taped off with a plastic tarp; I never heard or saw a single person in this area. I would probably recommend the Hampton Inn up the road; the room rates were often better there, as well. NOTICE: do not let a concerning manager here gaslight you into thinking mold claims are rust. Clearly there is also rust present in the rooms, on electronics, but I also experienced mold consistencies in 100 percent of the rooms that I entered on this property.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I stayed at Extended Stay America in Houston by the Galleria and felt unsafe from the start. I had read another woman’s review, elsewhere and unfortunately, my experience mirrored it. I stayed several days, but the final night was horrifying. Around midnight, I woke up to loud banging, footsteps in stilettos, and a party of unsavory characters in the room next to mine. I called the front desk, but instead of help, I was told to calm down. Terrified, I called the police. One person even threatened me. Management took an hour to show up, then questioned why I filmed rather than asking if I was okay. They said they kicked these people out of the room but every 30 minutes I heard the same pitter patter of stiletto shoes and someone outside of my room trying to listen. The next day, they told me to leave, though I was already planning to. Women traveling alone: or families that don'r want their children to witness this kind of unsettling behavior should stay elsewhere, As if this weren't enough, the hotel is cockroach infested.

Horrible place to stay. Entire hotel and rooms smelled like weed the entire time. Water from hot water dispenser was full of black particles that were not coffee grounds. Pillows were hard and uncomfortable as well as the bed. Front desk clerk was rude and when asked about the horrid smell of weed she couId care less and offered no sollution. Worst service ive ever had in hotel. Desk clerk could be heard down the hall rambling about her personal relationships gone bad. Water quality was yellow. I will be requesting a complaint and refund for my stay.

I checked in this hotel for three weeks, but checked out early. American Cancer Society set me up here, which I appreciate their generosity, the room smelled like mold and mildew as soon as I walked into the room. I sprayed room disinfectant and wiped everything down with pine sol and scented disinfectant. After the fragrance from the disinfectant would subsidize, the mold smell would return. I repeated over several times. I finally decided to look in windows. There was black mold very obviously on the windowsill. I reported this to the manger, and he wrote a requisition, but no one came to remove the mold. The next day I was assured someone would take care of it, but no one came the second day. I finally decided to take photos and showed them to the person at the front desk. She texted the manager along with a photo of the windowsill, and I was told I could change rooms. Also the refrigerator and microwave were rusty on the outside, and the curtain that covered the closet look as though someone threw up on it...awful! The next room, the refrigerator was also rusty on the outside and leaking on the inside. The was no trim around the bath tub and the linoleum was curled up, and it looked gross underneath. There were no drain stoppers in the face bowl or tub. Someone emailed me and said it was not mold but rust according to the engineer. I don't see how to insert photos, I really want you to see this, and you be the judge. I was there to go to MDAnderon Cancer Center. No one should be exposed to mold and definitely not Cancer patients. RUST IS BROWN NO BLACK! (9/17/25) AMENDMENT: WOW! There are four people who know the truth: Me, you, engineer and most importantly, God. Let your conscience be your guide. Billie W. Harris

When I stayed i was told at the time that the water heat was out so there was only cold water but it should be fixed the next day. The whole trip I was there the water was never fixed so it was either cold showers or go else where to shower. With the way that I booked my room it would be hard for me to get a refund so I had to wait it out and find other means for a hot shower. There was also a lot of gnats swarming around one night in my room to were I had to go buy spray just so I could get some rest. This is an older hotel so I understand that there will be problems but situations like this should be fixed as soon as possible.
