Reviews
I recently stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton Houston Medical Center Hotel & Suites, and I felt compelled to leave a review — specifically because of one outstanding staff member. Domingo Luebano from the security team truly went above and beyond for me. During a very busy time at the hotel, he took the extra effort to help me with an issue and even located something I had lost and accidentally left behind. He absolutely did not have to go out of his way the way he did, but he chose to — and that level of care and professionalism really stood out. It’s employees like Domingo who make a huge difference in a guest’s experience. Having staff members who genuinely care, take initiative, and treat guests with kindness is invaluable. His actions reflected extremely well on this hotel and made my stay that much better. Thank you to the entire team, but Specifically* to Domingo! For showing what true hospitality looks like. It does not go unnoticed. I hope your higher ups see this as well! Good credit where it's due!

While the room having a kitchenette was nice, the air would not get below 74 degrees the ENTIRE weekend. It’s an older hotel so there were some cosmetic things with the room, which is fine. The lobby was clean but the “market” was not stocked. We stay for NCA Houston and we needed to Uber EVERYWHERE. The area is NOT walkable. Lots of homeless, in particular a few living at the end of the parking lot. When asked about late check out, was told NO because it would put them behind on cleaning. Elevators would work sporadically. Bar was not open during its said hours, was told the bartender sometimes “runs errands” and closes the bar. Also Said free breakfast when booking and then told when I checked in they had an issue with the sales team and I WOULD NOT be getting free breakfast. Instead discounted from $20 to $10per person. The parking lot is small, and gets full. Then you have to park in the garage around the corner, they do validate parking but have no ride to get you from there to hotel. You have to walk. The pool was clean but nothing special. It served its purpose for our cheer competition but I would not ever stay there again.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had a great experience at the DoubleTree by Hilton Houston Medical Center Hotel & Suites thanks to Ali. From the moment I arrived, he was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive. Ali went above and beyond to make sure everything was taken care of and that my stay was comfortable. His positive attitude and willingness to help really stood out. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely cares about providing excellent customer service, and Ali definitely represents the hotel very well. Thank you, Ali, for making my visit smooth and enjoyable. I truly appreciate the hospitality! 👏

Absolute lunacy for parking. When the main parking lot is full, which is extremely small and does not accommodate all guests, they guide you to park at the Latitudes parking garage. Tonight, there was no parking, so we headed to the parking garage. When I get to the front to validate parking, I'm told that the Pizza Hut is also DoubleTree's parking and that “I” made an error. I told them I had checked the entire lot a few times and was somehow made to look like a liar. I had no desire to park in the parking garage. I told them that no one had communicated the parking availability or process at check-in or at any other time. I'm met by security at the front desk because the front desk calls them up. After all, I refuse to walk back to the parking garage at night and move it to the Pizza Hut parking lot. I said I'm not walking back to move my car, then back up through the parking garage behind the hotel to move it to the Pizza Hut parking lot to save them a few bucks. I'm exhausted, and that pressure from them is completely inappropriate. Front desk escalates. The security guy comes to the front desk, stands with an authoritative air, and insinuates that I have broken policy and that I need to clear the parking validation through his team first. No clue what he's talking about. There was no security walking rows when we came in, just full parking. I'm stunned by his demeanor. I've never been approached about hotel parking like that before. Mind you, none of that had ever been communicated by the front desk team previously. I was upset by his approach and already upset that they wanted me to move my car from the parking garage at night to Pizza Hut. This place needs a massive hospitality intervention, a revamp of their parking, staff retraining, and a lesson in how to handle an exhausted group of parents who do not need these issues from a hotel that clearly needs a heavy reset. I never want to be addressed like that by the head of security again, as we were tonight. Never in my life have I witnessed that type of behavior from front desk staff and security. That's coming through because the hotel operation is trying to mitigate costs, and it's “landing” as extremely poor hospitality.

My One Star for service is because of POLICY at this location NOT STAFF. Staff Was great. Shuttle was great. But to gouge Cancer patients $315 a night and not give the usual discount because of Houston Rodeo well that’s just wrong. (note: This Expedia price was cheaper than booking directly with Hilton which I normally do) I plan to share that fact with my MD Anderson group, to spread the word to stay away and to Uber from a further location which would be cheaper than staying at this location.
