I rarely leave negative reviews, but this stay fell significantly below what I expect from the Hilton brand. The primary issue was the room condition. The AC struggled to function properly, leaving the space humid and uncomfortable — especially concerning in Houston’s climate. The carpet had a persistent musty odor, and the overall environment felt damp and poorly maintained. For a property carrying the DoubleTree name, this was surprising. Additionally, parking fees were charged at a premium rate despite the overall condition of the property not reflecting premium standards. Check-in was also unnecessarily difficult. A standard Priceline reservation could not be processed smoothly, and Priceline had to intervene to correct the issue while I waited at the front desk. This created an avoidable delay and set the tone for the stay. Due to the room conditions, I made the decision to check out early. I worked through Priceline to request a reasonable adjustment for the unused portion of the stay. Unfortunately, the property declined to offer any flexibility or partial refund despite the documented concerns. The lack of resolution was more disappointing than the room itself. I’m sharing this review not out of frustration, but in hopes that corporate leadership evaluates whether this property is meeting Hilton’s brand standards and guest experience expectations. At the current price point, the experience did not align with what guests reasonably anticipate from DoubleTree. I hope management takes this feedback seriously

I hate leaving one star reviews, but there was one major reason for it. The hotel was clean and pretty nice for an older building. We had a 2 day event here and they were decently prepared. - Only one elevator was working and it was questionable. The only ice machine on our floor was broken the entire time. Their water bill must be pretty hefty, as it was running wide open into the drain the whole weekend. - The beds were almost comparable in comfort to a thin futon mattress. - The door keys were randomly deactivated throughout the weekend. - Here is the big one! All purchases for food and drink had a 24% "service fee" added. Thats correct, 24%!!!!

They were under construction so the elevators were unavailable and they advertise about having a buffet breakfast without telling you that there's an associated cost until you're almost done eating. I would definitely choose another location. They are least had fresh cookies.

My flight was delayed. The family members staying with me were coming from a different location with their infant. I called to ask if they would be able to access the room without me, and I was told it would be fine, but when my son arrived, they were told no. The person I spoke to remembered my call, and she told them that she told me no. Eventually, after hours, someone checked the reservation and saw the would be there adults and an infant; she allowed them to go in the room. She recognized our needs before I arrived, adjusted the room, she was waiting for me with a smile when I finally got there. If not for her, this would be a much different review.

Pros first: The hotel does offer a convenient airport shuttle to Hobby Airport that runs frequently, which makes overnight airport stays easier. There is also a pool with nice lounge chairs, though it is unheated. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The room felt musty and muggy, with a noticeable dampness in both the room and carpet. The air conditioning barely worked, and the toilet ran all night, making it difficult to get any rest. While the hotel’s location is convenient for Hobby Airport, the surrounding area is rundown with nothing to do within miles. If you need to stay near the airport for one night, I would recommend choosing another hotel if possible, although options in this area are limited.
