Courtyard Houston Hobby Airport

This airport is super close to Hobby, so it’s convenient, but it’s not overall a great area to stay in. The hotel feels a little seedy when you pull up, and there are gates/arms you are supposed to go through but the arms were up the entire time I was there so I’m unsure of the additional safety added. The rooms are dated but clean, and I didn’t have any issues with mine. The only issue I encountered was that, regularly, there was no one at the front desk for long amounts of time. When I arrived to check in, myself and another guest were standing in line at the desk for 15+ minutes with no one there. I finally gave up and went to my room - I had my mobile key assigned but needed to understand parking, the same as the other guest - but decided it wasn’t worth waiting anymore since it was already late (10pm-ish). When I did eventually interact with people at the front desk, the were always very nice.

The service was great, location was fine as far as proximity to other things. Building old and worn out, the room appeared clean but didn’t look like other Courtyard by Marriott rooms- the furniture was very dated, and smelled very strongly of mold. We were in and out in less than 5 minutes.

This is a Gen 1 property, location is good for airport, not much else. However the property itself is well maintained. The night auditor Kristen, was super helpful for letting me walk in at 1am after the Fairfield Inn down the street canceled everyone's reservations without cause or remedy. I appreciate this property helping out during the management missteps of an adjacent property.

Angela is amazing!!!👏🏽 😍 My survey is not good enough to express the way she works and how great her service is. Very empathic, treat guests with care and always demonstrate how much she cares about her job. You need more people like her.

I was placed at this location due to flight cancellations with Southwest. Trust the reviews. It had a stench upon walking in. They have a fan blowing to help, I guess. The room smell was terrible! Had it not been so late (I was exhausted from travel) and my new flight not so early; I would have left and gotten a room else where. The area felt very sketchy upon arrival and the staff was unhelpful. I’m unsure how I even caught the bus! It says 24/7 on the wall but when I came down at 6:45 with hopes of catching a 7a. The bus was there and then gone before I was able to ask and when I asked, she told me it runs on the half hour? It was 6:45!! No complimentary breakfast. I guess that’s an epic fail for Southwest to use this company if they are not going to have the best accommodations for their guest. This location had no options for dinner when I arrived either. I would not stay here again FOR FREE. On a positive, the bed was clean.
