Overall, great hotel. It was clean and my king suite was spacious. It's kind with 2 separate rooms. There was plenty of space and lots of counter space, drawers and cabinets. The location is interesting. It's a shared space/block with 2 other Marriott hotels, so the outside valet/checkin area can get crowded. Only valet is offered. Only issue I had was with my late check out. I got back to my room, and my key didn't work. Ughhh! Not that big of a deal except I had things in my hand and my room was on the 7th floor at the END of the hall. Also note, it is an older hotel so there were only 2 USB ports in the living area, so you HAVE to have a charger base to plug in anywhere else and there's no blow dryer in the room.

I would like to recognize Barbara Ruiz for the exceptional service she did provide for me during a very tough time and when we needed the most. Her expertise and knowledge is admirable. The time she spent to make sure I met my needs and her support meant a lot to us. She is a great asset for Marriott and me and our friends will continue to stay at this great hotel anywhere we go and specially in Huston , Tx . Sepi Hamadani

I dont usually review hotels as they are usually average and meet the expectations of the price point. However these ladies have been wonderful. I was already traveling before I came here so I didn't have a fan but they brought me a new clean box fan for my stay. I get rooms with two beds because I like to have lots of pillows and extra blankets. Instead of making both beds everyday, they added all the extra pillows, sheets, and blankets to the bed I was using. The lady at the bar took the time in her busy evening time to see my water bottle needed ice and brought me some and let me know when the best times were to buy and what to get for food and drink. These sound small but they make a HUGE difference when you feel seen and not just a guest number.

TL;DR: Avoid this hotel and its adjacent, connecting properties. Sketchy staff/security, bed bugs, and dismissive, apathetic management. Full Review: I rarely write negative reviews, but this one is necessary. I hope it deters others from booking here and spares you a similar experience. I booked this hotel for my stay during the AfroTech conference in Houston, checking in on October 27th. On the evening of October 29th, I returned to find myself hard-locked out of my room by staff. Security later told me it was an “accident” — they “meant to lock a different room ending in 9.” Anyone who’s ever stayed in a hotel knows how room numbering works: there isn’t “another room ending in 9” near mine. This kind of carelessness is unacceptable. I lost my evening plans resolving this with staff and security just to regain access to a room I had paid for. Then, early morning on October 30th around 4:30 AM, I woke up to something crawling on me — a bed bug. I immediately called the front desk and asked to be moved to a different, non-adjacent hotel. The manager later offered to move me to SpringHill Suites or Residence Inn, both of which are connected to this same building. Anyone who understands pest control knows that infestations are not contained to one section of a shared structure — which is why I refused and requested a transfer to a separate property. The front desk told me only the manager could authorize this and that she wouldn’t be in until 8 AM. I spent the next several hours inspecting and sealing my belongings. By 8:45 AM, still no update. When I called again, I was told the most they could do was waive the early checkout fee and have pest control inspect the room. While explaining both the hard lock and the bed bug incidents to the manager, she repeatedly cut me off and, at one point, said verbatim: “It sounds like you’re reading from a script.” That comment was condescending and completely inappropriate. I was simply recounting events clearly and calmly. As a Marriott Gold Elite member, I typically choose Marriott for its reliability and professionalism — but this location and its management are a poor reflection of the brand. This isn’t about money — my trip was sponsored. It’s about basic respect, safety, and accountability. To corporate: please handle this situation with the seriousness it deserves. And to management: please refrain from posting a canned apology. It only adds insult to injury.

Very close to a lot of things, ALL staff is friendly, hospitable and welcoming. Very accommodating, rooms are clean, has Starbucks in the lobby. For my first stay in Houston I would def book again. I would advise that they have $100 hold per night just so future/potential guest are aware.
