I stayed at the Country Inn & Suites and overall it was a fine experience. The price was reasonable, and the bed was extremely comfortable—I got a great night’s sleep. When I checked in on 02/26, the front desk let me know the elevator wasn’t working. She was very kind, upfront about the issue, and even offered a full refund, which I really appreciated. The property itself could use some investment, as it feels like the owners are stretching things a bit instead of reinvesting. Still, the staff was great and I left overall happy with my stay.

I booked two rooms through Booking.com. Upon arrival at the hotel, I immediately noticed that the property was not as represented in the online photos. The rooms were in extremely unsanitary and unacceptable condition — far below reasonable cleanliness standards. I promptly notified the front desk attendant, explained the issues in detail, and provided photographs documenting the condition of the rooms. I was informed that a refund could not be issued because the reservation had been made through a third party. I then contacted Booking.com directly to report the situation. Despite notifying them immediately and submitting evidence, I was later informed that a refund could not be processed because the hotel claimed that I had stayed at the property, which is inaccurate. This experience has been deeply disappointing. The condition of the hotel was completely misrepresented, and I made every reasonable effort to resolve the matter promptly and professionally.

Came here with my family recently and came here another time before the recent management change, and honestly it was alright. It's a nice place to stay for a couple of days. However, the biggest thing for me is the hot water. If you are looking for a place with hot water in particular, this place is NOT it. You'd have to be blessed just to have even a little bit of hot water come out of that faucet. We complained and they had someone come to check it, and conveniently enough the hot water was present. When he was gone, however, hours later? There was a lack of hot water again. Actually infuriating. I honestly suspect that they limit the hot water here, which would be whatever if they actually had the balls to be respectable enough to be truthful about that. Otherwise, this place was okay. The breakfast is nice, does cause a bit of diarrhea from my experience but still makes for a nice dining experience in the morning. The service is alright as far as I am aware. The room itself was comfortable enough. If it weren't for the hot water issue, my family would probably stay here a lot more.

Do not recommend. Booked this past weekend and it was a horrible experience. Elevator was out ( and of course we got booked on the 3rd floor because nothing else was available) room lighting was so bad, I was going to call front desk for new light bulbs but the phone was completely broken. Tv didn’t work, bathtub was disgusting and leaking and the whole building smelt like cigarette smoke. Ridiculous.

⚠️Please read before booking , major safety, sanitation, and security issues at this hotel! ⚠️ I’ve stayed at this hotel one night and it seemed ok. This time I booked my stay for a whole week and I’m writing this review to warn others before booking. This property raises serious concerns about fire safety, guest security, and basic cleanliness. The hotel was sighted by the Harris County Fire Marshal on October 8, 2025, for a faulty alarm system, and the problem wasn’t fixed until October 30, 2025. The note is posted at the front door. That means the alarm system wasn’t functioning correctly for over three weeks. Even more concerning, the Fire Department completely missed another major safety hazard: the emergency exit door. The emergency exit is used as regular entry point and does not close properly at any time, day or night. It remains slightly open, so anyone from outside can pull on it and walk straight into the building, no key access needed. The door has a sign claiming that “an alarm will sound if opened,” but that is completely false. No alarm goes off, and the door is never secured. This is a huge safety and security issue, especially for guests staying on the first floor or near that side of the building. Then, on October 30, 2025, about two weeks after the Fire Marshal’s citation, a contractor finally came out after 7:00 p.m. to repair and test the alarm system. There was no prior notice given to guests, and the contractor set off the fire alarm multiple times throughout the evening while testing it. The alarm was extremely loud and went off in every room, causing panic and confusion among guests who had no idea what was happening. No one from management informed guests that testing was scheduled, and no one followed up afterward to apologize or explain. This was handled very poorly and showed a complete lack of regard for guest comfort and communication. As for cleanliness, the conditions are unacceptable. The hotel has a serious German cockroach infestation. Roaches are all over the place, around the TV, under the microwave, near the internet box, and even crawling on the curtains and walls. When the microwave is in use, the roaches gather underneath it because of the heat. There are also small baby roaches near the bed, and you can spot them if you look closely at night. The hotel allows all types of dogs, not just service animals, and it shows. The first-floor hallway smells heavily of animal pee, feces, and vomit, and many rooms with carpet have visible urine and feces stains. Instead of properly cleaning or shampooing the carpets, the hotel turns the AC down to 60°F before guests check in, which hides the smell temporarily. But once you stay in the room for 24–48 hours or use the heater, the odor of animal waste becomes overwhelming. There are also ongoing maintenance and guest privacy issues: • Hot water only works in the morning, then stops for the rest of the day and night. • The microwave frequently stops working or loses power. • Housekeeping staff ignore Do Not Disturb signs, knocking repeatedly and even entering the room when there’s no response. • During my latest visit, my old keycards from a previous stay still opened a completely different room I was assigned to this time. That’s an enormous security risk for all guests. Between the fire alarm violations, the unsecured emergency exit, the cockroach infestation, the filthy carpets, and the lack of hot water or privacy, this property is being completely neglected by management. It’s unsafe, unsanitary, and unprofessional. I truly hope the hotel management, the Fire Marshal’s office, and county health inspectors take immediate action to address these ongoing problems. Until the fire safety, cleanliness, and guest security issues are properly fixed, I strongly recommend that travelers avoid this hotel entirely. Homeless people take shelter in staircase are and management does nothing about it. Front desk personnel never moves further than the laundry room which is attached to the front office area behind the elevator.
