This was my first time visiting Houston. I was not aware of the overall major homeless issue that Houston has. Seriously tons of homeless people all over Houston many of which seemed to have major mental health or drug issues. There were many homeless people around this hotel, including on the hotel property and even inside the lobby. Upon arrival, a homeless man came up close to my car while I was unloading. He sat on the curb and later laid down to take a nap. In the hotel lobby, a homeless man was sitting in one of the chairs and started talking to my husband in gibberish. I saw another homeless man go inside the hotel lobby and walk out after a few minutes. Ash at the front desk did not do anything about the man sitting in the lobby. Aside from this, you have to pay $5 per day for parking because they have to pay a security guard to watch over the cars at night due to how often they get broken into. I appreciate that they hired security because it seems like this was a major issue in the past based on reviews. Just a point of concern for the area though. All of the hotel entrances are locked at night. The breakfast selection was pretty bad. Wish they had paper plates and bowls instead of styrofoam so that I could have microwaved the microwave oatmeal. The rooms are nice and the price is reasonable. The hotel is close to the medical district. If it weren’t for all of the homeless people around causing safety problems, this would be a great hotel.

This hotel was was nice and clean. Our room was clean, spacious and welcoming. I didn't care too much for the bed mattress, too firm for my liking. The pillows were flat and somewhat small. The toilet flushes well, but is pretty loud,lol. But the hallways were really quiet, so we got some peace and had a nice stay.

You can argue that this is not a five star hotel, but my experience demands that I don't give them anything less. I book my room online and called the hotel to inquire about early check-in because I was having a procedure done that would leave me wobbly and sleepy after the anesthesia wore off. When my friend that was driving dropped me off at the hotel.The young man at the front desk refused to charge me for early check in. He said that it was more important that I get some rest after my procedure. EVERYONE was THAT friendly. Their friendliness and insistence on making me feel welcome will ensure that I will stay there again. The room was nice and comfortable. The shower head , plenty of hot water and water pressure. There's not a single thing that I could complain about. Oh, and being next door to Pappas BBQ was more important to me than their proximity to the hospital where I had my procedure done 😀

The location is epic by NRG and right by medical center. We have stayed at this location many times and never had an issue, that all changed last weekend. There were mites in the bed, then went to go take a shower and freezing cold water!!! So ridiculous since it's freezing outside. Went to breakfast during Saturday morning, you know Saturday is going to be your busiest day. There was not a hot item available for over 30 mins. No waffle mix either!! The orange juice is overly watered down, it didn't even have a flavor and multiple coffee pots were empty. I tried for over a week to reach the manager about it with no contact back. So sad to see my favorite hotel lacking. Hopefully the manager will make things right!! You cant sleep at night getting ate up!! Ugh!

Everything here was great. Clean rooms and nice, professional staffed that always smiled. I stayed in the room with the Jacuzzi and it was so relaxing. Breakfast and Hot coffee.
