Cambria Hotel Houston Downtown Convention Center

Overall, we had a pleasant stay at the Cambria Hotel in Houston. The staff was friendly, professional, and very helpful throughout our visit. The hotel itself is beautiful, peaceful, and very clean, which made it a comfortable place to stay. One downside was the long wait times for the elevators—it seemed like not all of them were working, which caused delays. Another concern was a safety issue: a random man knocked on our door claiming he needed to fix a remote, but he did not have a badge or uniform. For safety reasons, I declined to open the door. While this was unsettling for my wife and me, it appeared to be an isolated incident. Our room also didn’t have a great view. When we opened the blinds, we were facing stairs and nearby building windows, which gave more of a “New York” alley feel than what we expected, so we kept the blinds closed most of the time. Despite these issues, the hotel itself is well-maintained, calm, and stylish, and the staff’s professionalism helped make the stay enjoyable. With better elevator functionality, clearer security protocols, and improved room views, this could easily be a top-tier experience

Centered in the heart of downtown close to tons of art murals, minutes from Daikin Baseball Park for our hometown Astros, plenty of cuisine to choose from laid back or fancy! Don’t forget to get around for free in the circuit! Back to the Hotel- the service was top notch, beautiful Christmas decor. The hotel feels historic with a modern touch. Beautiful and elegant! Second time here for an overnight stay with my husband just celebrating us and we will be back again!

Terrible experience- I got trapped in the elevator, called the help line and it went to voice mail (??), finally got in touch with the front desk and they sent someone to get us out. Talked to a staff member who said this same thing had happened multiple times that week. The front desk offered me some free breakfast vouchers, which we used, but then got charged for the breakfast anyway on our bill. Called to fix it and got left on hold for ages. On top of that, housekeeping is only on request and it seemed like the only thing they did was make the bed, and the shower ran out of hot water after about 3 minutes. Pros: very comfy bed, nice view!! Cons: everything else. Save your money and go stay at a holiday inn, guarantee the experience will be better

We must've caught them on a bad weekend but everything was a mess. We tried to get our car valet and it took over an hour to get an attendant to attend us. And another hour when checking out for them to retrieve our car back because they misplaced the key. When we checked in we had to be moved twice because the rooms they assigned to us were not clean and the beds not made. When finally assigned to our third and final room it was 6pm! At the end of the visit I had to ask for my receipt just in case things were charged to the original room and their system didn’t update me.

There was food on the stairs going up to the registration desk. They have 5 elevators for a 20+ floor building and only one works. There is a Convention in town and only one working elevator. The water in the room bathroom and shower does not get hot at all. There is no door for the shower, no shelves to put your toiletries on. I took a lukewarm shower this morning.
