Sadly we had a bad experience as far as the caring nature of this hotel team. We mistakenly made a reservation through Expedia. We tried to cancel, but found we would be charge over $200 as a cancellation fee. I called the property, described our circumstances, and was told that they couldn't cancel the reservation without us going through Expedia. So, I opened a ticket with Expedia, they said they understood our situation and would OK a refund with no fee. They then contacted the property and were told no, and that I should work with the hotel directly. So, now back to the hotel. I called several times asking for the manager, describing our situation, and leaving my number for them to call me - never with any response. I definitely sensed that I was being avoided. I waited several weeks hoping to work this out with a caring person on the other end, but finally had to cancel online and pay the $200+. It's sad that a hotel that advertises itself as a warm and welcoming space would be so cold to the needs of a customer and fellow human being. Post Note - I thank George for taking the time to reply, but, to be clear, we never spoke by phone. I spoke to Expedia and to a desk person at the hotel who promised to pass my messages and phone number to the manager. I never received a call back.

Booked this hotel for an important event and had the absolute best time. John was super accommodating and helpful throughout my stay. My entire experience was amazing from the cleanliness of the room to how quiet and convenient the location is. Definitely recommend this place. - Jeremiah M (Rm. 206)

Love this place. It’s very central, near the train station, access to downtown loop, house of blues. Tried a great restaurant just a block away called Palm. Their pasta to die for. The room is well equipped ( missing knife) with kitchen. The bed and bedding are so comfortable. Service is v friendly and excellent. There is pet fee of $50 per stay. Lots of car parks everywhere. Really recommend this hotel. You can’t tell the quality if the rooms from external facade.

Our stay was wonderful! The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and provided excellent recommendations for things to do in the area. The location was incredibly convenient and close to everything we needed. If you’re looking for a charming, cozy hotel that truly feels like home, I highly recommend the Athens Hotel.

Really liked this little place. If you are looking for a corporate perfect and shiny hotel, this isn't necessarily it. But if you are looking for simple, comfortable, with a great staff, this is a great fit. There is a small kitchenette - just be aware that you may need to bring or buy items to fully leverage it. But having a full fridge and a microwave for leftovers was fantastic. Lots of good food options in walking distance. Overall, a cozy stay with great hands-on service from the staff.
