For Houston to be the best & largest medical center, St. Lukes falls very short of being the best. They simply bleed your insurance for days and days. Every single thing they say they are going to do is pushed back 2-3 days EVERY SINGLE TIME. Results are not given in a timely manner. The NP's and residents are the ones you see. The doctors come by and never touch the patient only getting information from bedside nurses, residents and NP's. They do not follow THE STANDARDS OF CARE! Once the insurance company says no more then all of a sudden it's discharge time or consult another consultant (they have created more reasons to consult consultants), so the patient can die. Worst comfort care I have ever seen in my 34 year career as a nurse! Palliative wanted to give Haldol after extubation. The nurse & respiratory therapy put a NC/2L on a mouth breather!!!! Are you kidding me!!!! I asked the nurse for a non-rebreather for comfort and noise control, the nurse said, oh let me call the Palliative team. Wrong answer, I said, get me a non-rebreather, she did and put it on 4 liters which was suffocating an already dying family member! I turned it up where it should be and it inflated appropriately. Really St. Lukes, DO BETTER! St. Lukes is drumming business to all little facilities to increase their business. Now, childhood friends father there 80+ years old no urine culture done? Really, he is old, increased confusion hx of prostate cancer, fever, blood in urine and no urine culture! So poor, poor care! I pray no one I know ever has to be here ever again. Patients & families have the right to choose the hospital they go to. Nurses, some were really good and nice a couple were nice but...... Nurses, never forget you have your own independent nursing judgement! You do not need to call a team for every little thing!

I was there on 12/27/2025 with a friend who was having post hernia surgery complications . He was there on the previous day and left due to the left limited staff after the Christmas holiday. The service received in the ER was excellent. The doctor whose name I didn’t get, but he was from New Jersey and nurse Gabby demonstrated great teamwork. They provided the best bedside manners I have ever seen. It was a pleasure to have there presence and receiving there services in the ER . Thanks for providing the best customer service ever.

2 triage nurses, been here 7 hours, 1 set of meds given and a ct scan. No follow up yet, patients are running out of patience and 1 of the 2 nurses can be overheard bitching about how tough SHE has it. Extremely disappointed.

I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to Baleigh, Linh, Giewel, and Meg, the urology nurses on the 12th floor, who treated me with dedication, patience, and compassion during my few days in the hospital. I also want to celebrate Nurses Week. They are all so kind and caring, and I’d also like to thank all the other team members whose names I don’t know—they were all incredibly kind as well.

This is a great hospital, they attended my uncle really good. But the nurses on 10th floor didn’t like to help him use the restroom! No matter how many times he pressed the call button they would take up to 2 hours to help him.
