Clean, friendly service, reasonable prices and good-sized portions. The three meat plate with 2 sides is $20.95 as of May 2026. Everything is well-seasoned and served hot. If you're on a low carb diet like we are right now, it's worth noting that there are small pieces of red potato in the green beans. We ended up taking home leftovers because it was plenty of food!

I’ve passed this place for a year now and finally stopped. I really wish I had pulled in here sooner. The food was delicious. The service was my favorite part. Went with 3 meat plate, a stuffed baked potato, a brisket quesadilla to feed the family. Do yourself a favor and stop here!

The sides are a rip off in my opinion. They are $4 each for about one cup serving. I know the cost of everything has gone up, but $4 for a cup of mash potatoes from a mix is crazy. I bought a chopped brisket sandwich, and two sides cost almost as much as the sandwich. The problem is most of these sides, like the mash potatoes, are NOT made from scratch. You can tell by their side textures that they are restaurant supply sides like Sysco or something (just add water and warm them up.) If the masses potatoes were made from scratch that might come closer to justifying 4 bucks for a scoop. If there was a "plate" option where the sides might be cheaper, they could have suggested that, but they didn't. And for a carry out order they STILL asked for a tip. That really irked me after getting charged $8 for beans and mashed potatoes. I was planning to bring my family here for a meal but not anymore, the sides will bankrupt you. I won't be coming back.

As a true bbq fan and being in Texas, the food here was not that good. Barely warm , Mac & cheese had no taste. Cafeteria style food. Good service tho. Highly do not recommend this place if you’re a bbq fan

Carl's is the local BBQ hangout for those of us who live in Cypress. They've been around for over 60yrs. All of the food is great and their burgers are some of the best you'll find. Carl's is a simple classic Texas BBQ joint that serves up timeless barbecue and chicken fried steak with great sides. Don't forget to pick up some of their banana pudding either.
