What counts as Memorial in this guide?

For this guide, Memorial is the part of west Houston between Loop 610 on the east and State Highway 6 on the west, with the Katy Freeway (I-10) to the north and Buffalo Bayou to the south. That's the same line we use in our other Memorial guides. It takes in the Memorial Villages, Memorial City and CityCentre, which sit on the south side of the freeway and act as the area's downtown.

It leaves out Memorial Park, which is inside the Loop, the Energy Corridor office district and Spring Branch north of I-10. All eight picks here landed in the Memorial City and CityCentre stretch between Gessner Road and Beltway 8, because that's where Memorial's restaurants post their happy hours. Our Memorial area page has the bigger picture.

How we chose

We kept only bars and restaurants inside our boundary whose own website or official menu showed a current Memorial address and a posted happy hour, with prices where the venue publishes them. We checked every site in November 2026. Places that don't post their happy hour terms online, or whose sites we couldn't load, were left out, even ones we like. That left eight deals, and every one of them is on an official page you can check yourself.
