Best Bars in Pearland, TX: Taprooms, Pubs and Sports Bars

Date Published

Bars in Pearland illustration: taproom with string lights, pint, wine glass, dartboard and golf flag

Here's a fact that surprises most people who drive past it: a small, veteran-owned brewery on Rice Drier Road in Pearland has a Great American Beer Festival gold medal. Vallensons' won it in 2020 for its Settlers Oatmeal Stout, and its awards page lists a World Beer Cup gold two years later for a tart fruited sour called Pink. You don't need to drive into Houston for a serious pint.

That's the theme of this guide. Pearland's bar scene is suburban, so it lives in strip centers, taprooms and sports grills along Broadway rather than on one walkable street. But it has real character once you know where to look: a taproom with Sunday bluegrass jams, a pub that typically stays open until 2 a.m., a golf lounge where it's always 70 degrees inside, and a pizza-and-beer spot that got its start right here.

The quick list

  • For the best beer in town: Vallensons' Brewing Company, home of that gold-medal stout.
  • For a family-and-dog-friendly evening: Rob Ray's Taproom.
  • For a late last call: Bogie's Pub.
  • For watching the game with a burger: Hometown Sports Bar & Grill.
  • For whiskey and a round of indoor golf: DogLegs Golf Lounge.
  • For wine with a proper dinner: Grazia Italian Kitchen.
  • For pizza and local craft beer: Center Court Pizza & Brew.

How we chose

We kept this list strictly inside Pearland. Every pick has a Pearland street address (ZIP code 77581 or 77584) and is listed by Visit Pearland, the city's tourism office. That rules out the bars just over the line in Friendswood, Manvel and south Houston, even good ones.

Each place also had to be operating on its own official website in October 2026. We left out spots whose websites had gone dark or now point somewhere else, and places we couldn't confirm on an official page. We favored local, independent bars, then added a couple of reliable chain options for big groups and game days.

Hours below come from each bar's own site and change often, so read them as "typically" and check before you go. Most of these places sit along Broadway Street, the city's main east-west road, so a night out here means a short drive or a rideshare between stops, not a walk.

Breweries and taprooms

Vallensons' Brewing Company

East Pearland, 4081 Rice Drier Rd · craft brewery and taproom · typically Wednesday to Sunday

Vallensons' calls itself Pearland's oldest brewery. It opened on May 27, 2017, founded by Valle, a U.S. Air Force veteran whose love of craft beer began while traveling the world in the service and grew from a garage hobby, and his wife, Lori. The name is a family one: it blends Valle's name with his two sons'.

What to order: the Settlers Oatmeal Stout, its Great American Beer Festival gold medalist, or a glass of Pink, the Berliner weisse that keeps showing up on the brewery's awards list. The tap list changes constantly, and the brewery posts the current lineup on TapHunter and social media. Ciders and wine are on hand for non-beer drinkers.

Families and dogs: the brewery describes itself as family- and pet-friendly. Kids are welcome with active supervision, and dogs need to stay on a leash.

Food: a rotating schedule of food trucks. On nights without a truck, you can bring your own food. Outside alcohol is never allowed.

Hours: typically Wednesday and Thursday 4 to 9 p.m., Friday 4 to 10 p.m., Saturday 2 to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 6 p.m. Hours shift for events and big games, so check Vallensons' FAQ first.

Insider tip: in the fall, Visit Pearland has paired the brewery with a guided night walk to Old Settler's Cemetery, with costumed guides playing early residents and a beer back at the taproom afterward. Watch Visit Pearland's site for it.

Rob Ray's Taproom

West Pearland, 2503 Covey Ln · craft beer taproom · open daily

Rob Ray's is the neighborhood living room you wish you had on your street. Owners Rob and Beth Bromley moved to Pearland in 2015 and opened a taproom built around a rotating list of local craft beer, with kids' games, food trucks and something on the calendar almost every night. The name? A nickname a friend gave Rob years ago that, in his words, followed him from job to job.

What to order: a flight. The taproom pours rotating local drafts and also stocks ciders, wine and non-alcoholic beer, so everyone in your group finds something.

Why it's on the list: the weekly calendar. It typically runs trivia, music bingo, Texas Hold'em and family bingo on weeknights, live music on weekends, watch parties for Texans and college football, and an open bluegrass jam on Sunday afternoons. Check the events page for the week.

Families and dogs: Rob Ray's welcomes kids and dogs.

Hours: typically Monday to Friday 5 to 10 p.m., Saturday noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday noon to 8 p.m.

Pubs and sports bars

Bogie's Pub

Broadway, 9330 Broadway St, Suite E500 · neighborhood pub · open daily

When everything else in Pearland has closed, Bogie's is still pouring. The pub typically opens seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m., which makes it the town's late-night answer. It has a food menu and drink specials, and it has been in Pearland since 2012, according to the pub's site. There's a sister Bogie's in Missouri City.

Best for: a weeknight pint, or one more round after dinner somewhere else.

Hometown Sports Bar & Grill

Pearland Parkway, 1853 Pearland Pkwy, Suite 135 · sports bar · open daily

Hometown is built for game day: sports on every season, burgers as the headline act, and a kitchen open late. It typically opens daily from 11 a.m. to midnight and has a separate late-night menu.

What to order: a burger, or, if it's a Monday, the hand-breaded chicken-fried steak with mashed potatoes and scratch-made gravy, which the bar runs as a Monday special.

Best for: east-side Pearland residents who want to watch the Texans, Astros or Rockets with a crowd, without driving into the city.

Big City Wings

Broadway, 9721 Broadway St · wings and sports bar · open daily

A wing chain that Visit Pearland lists among the city's bars and brews. It's the dependable choice when you've got a big group and a game on. It typically opens at 11 a.m. daily and stays open until midnight on Friday and Saturday.

BJ's Restaurant & Brewhouse

Pearland Town Center, 11200 Broadway, Suite 1700 · brewhouse and restaurant

The national brewpub chain has a location at Pearland Town Center. It's useful for big groups, families and anyone who wants a long menu alongside a house beer. Check the location page for current hours.

Cocktails, whiskey and wine

DogLegs Golf Lounge

Old Pearland, 1823 Broadway St · golf simulator lounge and bar

This is our pick for the most fun night out in Pearland. DogLegs is an indoor golf lounge with simulator bays and access to more than 150,000 virtual courses, plus a chef-driven menu, a whiskey and wine list and a cocktail program. As the lounge puts it, inside it's always 70 degrees with no rain in sight.

You don't have to golf. There's a separate lounge area for non-golfers, and the bays can run other simulator games for groups.

Cost: bays are typically $50 an hour, with an early-bird rate of $35 an hour Monday to Thursday before 5 p.m. The lounge recommends reserving a bay ahead. Check DogLegs' pricing page before you go.

Best for: birthdays, date nights and work groups. There's a brunch menu, too.

Grazia Italian Kitchen

Broadway, 9415 Broadway St, Suite 103 · Italian restaurant and bar

Grazia is a restaurant first, but it bills its bar as a serious one, and it's the spot we'd send you for a glass of wine and a real dinner in Pearland. Founders Adrian and Gina Hembree describe the menu as Texas comfort food rooted in Italian tradition: wood-fired pizza, fresh Gulf seafood, Wagyu from a local ranch and lasagna egg rolls.

Insider tip: Grazia hosts occasional wine pairing dinners, announced on its official site. Call ahead to reserve a spot.

Center Court Pizza & Brew

Two Pearland locations: 9721 W Broadway St, Suite 101, and 2560 Pearland Pkwy, Suite 182

Center Court is a Pearland original. Its first location opened in June 2006 on the west side of Pearland, according to the company. The draw is pizza and wings with a list of local craft beers from regional breweries.

Best for: a casual beer and a pie after kids' sports, or a low-key game night.

Save this: a Pearland bar night, east to west

Plan for a designated driver or rideshare. These stops are spread along Broadway and aren't a walk apart.

  1. Golden hour at Vallensons'. Start with a flight and a food truck dinner on Rice Drier Road (Wednesday to Sunday).
  2. A round of golf at DogLegs. Book a bay on Broadway in Old Pearland and order a whiskey while you play.
  3. Last call at Bogie's. Finish west on Broadway, where last call is typically 2 a.m.

Bringing the family instead? Swap the night for an afternoon: Rob Ray's on a weekend, then pizza at Center Court.

Before you go: a quick checklist

  • Check hours on the bar's own site the day you go. Vallensons' is typically closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Bringing kids? Vallensons' and Rob Ray's welcome families. Expect to supervise them the whole time.
  • Bringing the dog? Both taprooms welcome leashed dogs.
  • Planning golf? Reserve a DogLegs bay ahead, especially on weekends.
  • Don't bring outside alcohol to the taprooms. Vallensons' never allows it.
  • Use a rideshare between stops. Pearland is a driving town.
