Econo Lodge Inn & Suites North

I have been staying here for over a month. I work in the area and the hotel is very close to my work. I stayed in another hotel before this one; it was much more expensive and not any better than this one. In fact, I prefer this hotel. The rooms have been redecorated and are very nice. They have a good weekly rate, and for people who work long hours like I do the hotel does have a wash and fold laundry service. They recently started having breakfast in the lobby, which is nice on the days that I don't have to be at work early. They are a dog-friendly hotel. I would recommend letting them know you are bringing a dog in ahead of time, just to make sure they still allow dogs to stay. The people who run the hotel are very helpful and easy to deal with. Most of the people staying at the hotel are there for work, so it is usually pretty quiet. I will definitely recommend this hotel to coworkers who are looking for a place to stay.

Rooms are decent, recently remodeled and clean. No breakfast and if you use an app like CLC you won't get any points for your stay. Since this is the only location that won't give you points for your stay, I won't be back. I spent the next to nights at a different hotel down the street that while I didn't get points there, I got a better room, indoor pool, and breakfast. This econo lodge would have gotten my business those two night but his power trip on the points (which cost him nothing), cost him business....and don't go by the pics on google, they're not even close.

Recently while traveling to Houston and back to Alabama, I called an Econolodge with a 4 star rating to book a room. I was tired and frustrated because the website for various hotels under the Choice umbrella was too cumbersome, too cluttered and small to use on my phone . An easily readable/findable phone number would have been helpful.(HINT) Thank goodness a family member was able to find a few places near my destination and got me their phone numbers. The young man who helped me to make a reservation was very helpful.Later when I arrived, he was very kind and gave me a first level non smoking room. However, I will not stay there again even though I travel to that area frequently and here is why :The bath tub had no thing on the bottom to protect against slipping, there was no ADA handle to assist with getting into the shower/tub(I am over 60), the refrigerator kept waking me with a loud buzzing sound until I unplugged it, so I didn’t get as much sleep as possible, and there was black mold showing from under the new caulking(which looked like a child had installed it.) These, however, were minor issues compared to the same young man’s petulant reaction to me suggesting that he install a non slip tub rubber mat and handle for safe entry. When I approached him with my suggestion I prefaced it with “I know that you’re still renovating the place, , so I’m going to mention this because it will protect you from possible litigation in the future.” When I finished , he pointed at his sign saying they have a right to refuse service… and told me to leave. No skin off my chin. Good luck going forward Sir.

When I arrived, I was greeted by Neal. He was very helpful as well as his family knowing me by name. It feels good when a business knows you by name, they acknowledge their customers. The property is very clean, quiet, and staff is very friendly; greeting you with a smile. I would recommend this place to anyone. The family makes me feel welcomed as well. Be sure to stop by and enjoy the quietness and relaxation.

I have. Been coming here for almost 3 years now. I must say. I am well pleased, clean outside and inside never. Ever have Had any problems. My family come as well from time to time.We all Love this place. I have never had Any problems with my room I like the staff, Neil and mark also his lovely wife.They treat me like family Trust me and come see
